~*~*~ Johnsons Baby Shampoo ~*~*~
Ever since I had my first son eleven years ago I have been a Johnsons baby product user and with the three children after him things didn't change. I have tried cheaper baby products and whilst some of them are really good I always return to Johnsons.
~ What is it? ~
Johnsons Baby Shampoo is a shampoo formulated for babies. It is a yellow coloured thick liquid that has a really lovely baby fresh scent. It is a mild, tearless formula that is as gentle to the eyes as pure water. Johnsons Baby Shampoo has the No More Tears formula that is quite common now among most baby and child bath products.
~ What's it like/Usage ~
I really like using Johnsons Baby Shampoo, like I have already mentioned I have been using it on and off for eleven years but during that time I don't think there has ever been a time when I haven't had some of this in the bathroom! My second son suffered badly with eczema and anything soapy would irritate him a lot, he was always a happy smily baby even when his eczema really flared up, the only time it bothered him was when I put him in the bath but with babies being babies he did get quite messy quite often so bathtime wasn't something I could really put off even though I knew he hated it.
I used Aveeno Oil in his bath and then would wash his hair with this shampoo and even as he got older I carried on using this as it was the only shampoo that didn't irritate his skin, we eventually stopped using it when he was about four as I had run out of this and simply used a different branded childrens shampoo and he was fine and since then he has been able to use any shampoo. However I used it for my third child and I am also using it now for my fourth child.
My littlest one is incredibly messy, he is one of those babies who really feels the need to place his empty bowl on his head just to say he has finished, not a great thing when he has been eating porridge, or any other messy foods so he has a bath every night and sometimes in the day too, luckily he adores bathtime ... Maybe that is the reason he is so messy!
I put my little one in the bath and use a cool green Ben 10 cup to wet his hair, I then squeeze a dollop of the shampoo onto my hand and then use my hands to lather the shampoo into his hair, after getting a nice gentle layer of white foam I then proceed to rinse his hair using the cup again, I try not to get the water in his face but he will often turn to look at me and then the water and shampoo will run down his head and down his face, whilst he will sit there blowing raspberries to get the bubbles off his mouth, the liquid running down his eyes doesn't bother him at all, I will wipe it away but it doesn't sting nor cause any redness so I will vouch for the No More Tears formula, it works just fine!
~ Overall opinion ~
I do find this shampoo works really well, it leaves my sons hair nice, soft, clean and smelling great, the bottle is easy to hold, easy to open and it's very easy to dispense a small dollop of shampoo into your hand, I just flip open the yellow lid and squeeze a little shampoo out, it is as simple as that. The bottle is clear so you can see the yellow liquid inside and you can see just how much you have left which is great as you can tell easily when you are running low.
The scent is just a real baby fresh scent which I adore.
I think it is a great shampoo for babies.
~ Price ~
A 250ml bottle of this can be picked up in Poundland for £1 (of course!) but prices vary from store to store.
A 500ml bottle from Boots is £3.35.
It is also available from most supermarkets and can even be found in many smaller shops too.
Thanks for reading :o) x
