A bit of a let down, but ok for £1.99 a bottle

Before I start getting into this review I would like to point out that this isn't a review about Katie Price/Jordan! We all seem to have opinions about her, mine oddly enough isn't all that favourable however I never bought this styling spray because of her so to speak. Put it this way I never went out deliberately to purchase any of her products on the day I did lol.

However I was in T.J Hughes and was attracted to her hair products (that I didn't know at that point even existed!) by the pretty pink packaging. It was only after picking up the products and looking at the writing on them that I realised they were her line of products. I bought them because I needed some new hair products anyway and knew at £1.99 a product I was probably getting a bargain and so I actually bought every single one off her products on offer front he haircare range to try out!

Styling spray isn't something I'd normally use on my hair. I use an array of different products but an all over styling spray isn't something I think I've ever used.

      The Packaging:

The pink plastic bottle holds 150ml of the styling spray and it has a push button sprayer in the same colour to the top of it and has a push on/off safety cap/lid to the top of that. On the front of the bottle and in silver writing we are told that it is Haircare Collection, Katie Price, Silk Protein Styling Spray 'Excellent hold conditioning spray' and there are little dark pink hearts around the bottom of the bottle made to look like flowers. On the back of the bottle other information listed includes being told a bit about the product and how to use it, ingredients and the size is stated (as I've listed already) and contact details for Jigsaw (the manufacturer of the product) are given. As I said initially in this review the packaging is really nice, informative and nice to display and very feminine/girly indeed.

A Bit About The Product According To The Information On The Back Of The Bottle:

This body-building styling spray holds your style whilst improving the condition of your hair. With enriching silk proteins to give hair a sleek look and feel. Formulated to improve hair structure and hold styles for longer.

      Using It:

Well to use this you have a couple of options. You can either use this on damp hair and when initially styling your hair, or on dry hair for touch ups or to give body or use on the hair to use as you would a fixing spray/hairspray.

      The Spray And Me:

Well the spray pumps out a clear feeling water onto the hair and generously. Unlike Katie's other hair products though I felt the fragrance of this really did let this product down. It has a weird, floral soapy smell to it which is rather strong and old fashioned and does really linger on the hair which I'm not keen on at all.

Also this is a sticky to work with spray. I work this spray into my hair and then use my fingers and a comb to style my hair and I don't half get sticky however to be fair that initial sticky feeling does disappear by itself rather fast. Its so sticky though some managed to dribble down the bottle and make the bottle get a sticky ring which was hard to remove off my dressing table and the bottle constantly feels grubby and needs wiping down!

However saying all that this is a semi-decent spray despite those negative comments. Like I say the sticking feeling does wear off once it dries which it does quickly and this can create volume, coat strands of hair to protect it from going frizzy and it does really put you in control of your hair.

I haven't only used this on damp hair but I have used this to 'set' my hair in place instead of hairspray too and it does that job better and more effectively than using it on damp hair in my opinion. A few squirts of this really does control hair and stop frizzes appearing making a sleek ponytail and the likes that stay put all day long!

This does make hair feel like it has a sort of film on it though but does give hair a nice healthy glossy sheen though is a bit tricky to get used to using on damp hair.

I don't particularly like the smell of it, don't like the initially stickiness but if I take my time I can make this spray work for me though on the bottle it does call it a conditioning spray...I don't really feel that it is though like I say it may not feel that way but my mop does appear healthy.

All in all for £1.99 a bottle I'm rather pleased with it though if you can't find it in T.J Hughes it can be found online for about £6.00 a bottle on sites such as Amazon.
