This shampoo is a dream in a bottle, I can't recommend it highly enough. I had always shyed away from salon brands, thought the stylist was busy trying to earn their commission. I had only ever bought hair products in the local supermarket and was convinced they had the same ingredients. Having used this Kerastase product I was so wrong! Firstly, the product smells divine, a sweet slightly coconut perfume. It feels great on your hands when you use it and lathers up well on your hair. it was recommended to me as I have dry hair which has been bleached and is pourous. This shampoo has definitely put some life back into my hair, made it stronger and given it some shine. it does not leave any residue on the hair, just rinses away to leave clean, tangle free hair in beautiful condition. it is fairly expensive, around £12, but it lasts. I buy a bottle every 2 months and wash my hair 2 - 3 times per week. Well worth it.
I don't ever really spend much money on shampoo, but I did this time as the product was recommended to be my by my Hairdresser.
I really do rate it, it left my hair feeling stong and smelling lovely! But without an irritated or itchy scalp with it! the shampoo itself is quite nice smelling in the shower, but not so strong that it leaves your hair smelling llike a mobile fruit bowl!!
Kerastase is a product that I am now using in many forms, through using this product and being impressed! Many hairdressers you will find stock the whole range. The product I brought was off EBay and I got it for a bargain price and note in Hairdressers and alike it is far more expensive!
Would I buy this product again....yes definietly!
I must admit that when the Hairdresser told me what she thought it would do for my hair i thought it would not be worth it...but it was!
This shampoo is designed as food for your hair, and ideal if you suffer from dry split ends. Although the price tag is rather large for shampoo it does last around 2 months for a 250ml bottle. When I bought this it cost around £12.00 but you can shop around and find it cheaper, as it is becoming more popular.
The packaging is very distinctive in white and orange, and it comes in a simple bottle, with orange screw cap.
Simply use like any other shampoo and wet hair and lather into your scalp. The beautty of this product is that you only need a small amount every use, even if you have long hair like me. So although it is pricey it is worth it, as it lasts ages!
I found it really improved my hairs conditions, and the ends were much more shiny, and manageable. The overall rating is 8/10 for me.
If you have read my review for the Kerastase Nutritive Lait Vital No 1 conditioner this review may seem quite similar as my reson for purchasing this product is the same. However don't let that stop you reading on!!
Kérastase Nutritive Bain Satin 2 Shampoo is now my hair care product of choice. It is made by L'Oreal and was Instyle Magazine Winner for Best Shampoo for Dry Hair 2007.
I have always brought high street brands of hair products believing them to be just as good as salon shampoos and conditoners, and at half the cost. However recently I have changed my mind...
Having developed a sensitive scalp I asked my hair stylist for advice and she recommended this brand of hair care. She warned me they were pricey, but stressed you only needed to use small amounts and that they would last much longer than cheaper brands. She suggested I try it out, which I did.
I have thick, healthy, highlighted hair. It is dry at the ends. Kérastase Nutritive Bain Satin 2 Shampoo is perfect for me as it has been specifically formulated for normal to slightly dry, damaged hair. It has cationic polymers to soothe the hair surface, resulting in beautifully soft, shiny, supple hair.
How to use
Wet hair completely then apply a small amount of Satin Bath No. 2 ( about the size of a marble) to your wet hair. Massage thoroughly into your hair and scalp - even such a small amount of shampoo gives a good lather. Make sure you rinse the shampoo completely from you hair before conditioning (with a Kerastase product ofcourse!)
The shampoo comes in a stylish but sturdy white plastic bottle that has an orange screw on lid. The shampoo is dispensed easily by inverting the bottle and squeezing the shampo into the palm of your hand.
Ah! Don't let my husband know! I pay £13 (which is the RRP) for a 250ml bottle, when I buy this product from my hairdressers. It seems redicuously expensive for a bottle of shampoo, but I really do feel that after using it my hair is in better condition, less dry at the ends and that it keeps the colour of my highlights brighter for longer. On another positive note, I use such a small amount of shampoo each time I wash my hair that it lasts for ages - about 8 weeks.
It is an expensive product - but I'm worth it!!
