“ Brand: Kerastase / Type: Hair Treatment / What it does: Nourishes, Protects, „
I have dry , frizzy, coarse 'problematic' hair. It needs a lot of moisture and is prone to frizzing up like mad. I am always on the lookout for products that will 'tame my mane'.
I was reluctant at first to try this as it is expensive, but in a haze of impulse buying I did, and I grateful for my reckless shopping habits!
I have used many deep conditioning treatments, usually using one once a week or so, however many are little more than regular conditioner in a tub and I have rarely been impressed enough to repat a purchase. This however is worth the money and I can see myself buying it again.
The packaging is nothing special, clean and colour coded with the rest of the kerastese range, though I do like the little insert under the lid which stops excess water from the shower getting in. As I have unintentionally diluted many a product before by not screwing on the lid tightly enough this is a small but welcome innovation! The instructions for use are clear and the leaflet gives you the usual pseudo-science about what fancy ingredients are contained within.
Using it is very easy and even pleasurable! The instructions said to use two hazelnut sized blobs, and having long very thick hair I was sceptical as my long, very thick hair usually requires me to use a good handful of conditioner I only needed about 3 hazelnut sized blobs! It spread through my hair very easily, and it smells gorgeous with the lovely smell lingering on the hair. Tangles easily combed out when I ran a wide toothed comb through my hair to distribute the product. It rinses out well and leaves hair feeling amazingly silky, my hair hadn't felt that good after a wash for a while!
The results are good, not amazing but good and given my hair's extreme awkwardness I presume the results are even better on those with less stubborn locks! My hair now looks in good condition, shinier than usual and is almost frizz free. The day after my curls and waves are well defined with my hair full of body, my hair is soft, really soft, and not weighed down.
I am very impressed with this and will be buying again despite the high price, but perhaps you do get what you pay for and this is a worthy buy. I would reccomend this to anyone with dry, stressed hair that needs a bit of TLC, either as a once in a while boost or for regular maintence for hair that needs it. It may be too rich for fine, thin hair although the range includes similar products for different hair types. For thick, dry hair that needs a boost this is exellent and well worth the premium price as it is indeed a premium product and I would reccomend it to anyone with this hairtype, as if it can make a different on my stubborn hair it can make a difference to anyone!
I really love using the Kerastase range and dipping into their products is always a luxury. Fortunately for me, I have a relative in the hair industry which means I am privy to a lot of salon only products. This is great because I can try a host of products and then choose to buy the ones that I like down the line!
My hair is mid length, often dry and course and in need of refreshment. I spend most of my time trying to find products to keep the colour in check, keep it moist and healthy and full of volume. This summer, I have been outside quite a lot and the sun has parched the ends of my hair, leaving them brittle and straggly. Not a good look! This masque is designed to combat dryness and restore protein and life into distressed hair.
The tub might retail at around twenty pounds, but it will last you for a good two months or so if you do a couple of intensive treatments in a week. This is the amount of treatments I perform, anymore and the hair might get over saturated.
After a standard shampoo, it is best to remove excess moisture then take a ten pence piece worth and work through from root to tips, concentrating on sections to ensure a good coverage. I liked the smell of this stuff, really bursting with that salon fresh aroma, and the thick creamy masque is like silk as it massages in. I left on for five minutes then rinsed with warm water. Even at damp stage, I could feel that the hair felt smooth and the whole head of hair seemed softer.
The blowdry confirmed my thoughts. The hair did feel very nourished and revived and each strand felt glorious to touch...strokeably soft tresses! The overall look of the hair improved instantly and took on a glacial radiance and it was also easier to straighten. A highly recommended, top end product with very impressive results.
This is a Kérastase Nutridéfense Masque which is an enriched nutrition masque for your dry, sensitised hair. It also works on any sort of damaged hair mine is over coloured and heat damaged and makes it shiny and soft. It also smells amazing. This luxurious treatment provides optimum nutrition from root to tip whilst giving anti-dryness protection to counter the effects of harsh external elements and is generally good for winter and summer effects on the hair too which can be damaging.
The product itself is formulated with glucose, proteins and lipids. This apparently works to reinforce the natural protection of your hair's surface, replenishing dry, sensitised hair with essential nourishment. This leaves hair feeling soft, smooth, supple and light and boasting incredible shine. It really does do this, my hair looks amazing after using this and have used it once weekly since getting it. Although I'd love to use it everyday cause it smells so nice!
Directions of use:
Use on cleansed, wet hair, but make sure you ring majority of water out of your hair to ensure the product isnt watered down too much as this may affect the product ability to work.
Apply a walnut sized amount evenly throughout your hair.
Massage the lengths and the ends, paying particular attention to the most sensitised parts .e.g ends.
Leave on for 5 minutes though if you want you can leave it in for longer, my hairdresser advised me to leave it in for 5 to 15 minutes depending on how much time you have to do this or just while having a relaxing bath would work well. Then rinse thoroughly
The product costs £25 from Toni and guy but That what was over a year ago. I have looked on goggle shopping I have seen it going for 20.99, so look around before you buy. Defiantly worth the cost though as it will make your hair feel healthier and shiny.
