      Kerastase Reflections Chroma Captive

      The Product
      = = = = = =
This product is part of the Kerastase Reflection range which is a range for coloured hair. This range of products helps protect your hair and help to give a long lasting radiance, revealing a mirror like shine. This shampoo is perfect for any colour treated hair and helps to keep your colour more radiant for longer. The shampoo contains a number of ingredients which can help your hair in a number of different ways. The main ingredients to help you hair include:

      * Systeme Capture - This captures colour & gives protections for up to 40 days.
      * Zinc Gluconate - This is often used in anti dandruff shampoos and can enhance the health of the hair.
      * Vitamin E - This helps to leave you hair silky and shiny
      * UV filters - Protects coloured hair and makes the colour look better for longer
      * Linseed Oil - This helps to replenish dry/damaged hair.

This shampoo is salon quality and is used by a wide number of hair salons all over the world. The shampoo comes in a bright pink coloured bottle which is an oval shape. This is more than a dark pink rather than a light pink. The bottle is made from strong plastic and has an oval lid which unscrews and comes off of the main bottle. On the front of the bottle it states the brand name of the product and what the product is. On the back of the bottle it states how to use the product and also gives a list of ingredients. This information is in a number of different languages. The packaging is somewhat different looking to cheaper shampoo brands and the packaging makes the product look slightly more expensive and a salon look. I chose this particular brand of shampoo because I remember my hair dresser using this brand on my hair a few years ago when I visited the hair salon that he worked in. I remember the shampoo left my hair feeling really soft, so I thought I would treat myself and buy some of the shampoo to try to see if it was still as good as I remembered. I also find that although a lot of shampoo's claim to help your hair colour I am yet to find a really good shampoo that does this and keeps my hair looking bright and vibrant weeks after colouring it.

      Price/Availability

I purchased a 250ml bottle from www.gorgeousshop.co.uk for £13.25 which is slightly cheaper than salon prices. There are various websites on the internet selling Kerastase products; how-ever prices may vary. You can also purchase their range of products from most salons; how-ever prices may be slightly higher and average around £15.99. This range cannot be purchased from high street stores such as Boots or Superdrug.

      Using the Shampoo
      = = = = = = = = = =
When using the product for the first time you will need to remove the small plastic which covers the opening of the neck to the bottle. This then reveals the hole in which the shampoo comes out of when using the product. I smelt the product beforehand and it smells really pleasant and fresh smelling. I wet my hair and then got ready to apply the product. The shampoo bottle was easy to squeeze to allow some of the shampoo onto my hand. The shampoo is white in colour and isn't too thick but at the same time isn't too runny. As soon as I applied this to my hair and starting rubbing at it, a rich lather formed very quickly, leaving my hair feeling really clean and refreshed. There wasn't too much of a smell from the product, but it did smell pleasant and a fresh/clean like smell. I rinsed out the shampoo which was easily done and as I did this I could already feel that the condition of my hair was already feeling softer than it had done before washing it. I did also purchase the conditioner to go with the shampoo but I wanted to test the product on it's to see how good it was and so that I could record the results of each individual product. I squeezed out any access water in my hair and towel dried it ready for blow drying. The wide toothed comb I use on wet hair went through my hair quite easily, but not as easy as I thought it would. I started blow drying my hair as normal until it was at least 95% dry. My hair looked shiny and felt really soft, how-ever I was a little disappointed that the smell of the product had now disappeared and although my hair look and felt clean and fresh it didn't really smell fresh due to the lack of staying power in the scent of the shampoo. My hair did look brighter and much more vibrant than it did before and I was really pleased with this. I normally wash my hair every 3 days anyway as I find my hair can start to get a little greasy. The shampoo didn't make my hair any greasier and it didn't leave any residue in my hair either.

      Overall Opinion
      = = = = = = = =
On the bottle it states that this product is salon quality and admittedly this shampoo is probably the best shampoo I have used in terms of leaving my hair smooth, soft and silky and making my colour looks more vibrant. I personally don't think I have used a shampoo that has left my hair feeling so soft and silky. The price of this shampoo isn't cheap, comparing to other brands you can buy in high street stores such as Boots, how-ever I do believe in some cases that the more you pay the better quality product you will have and I think this product relates to that. I wouldn't normally spend this much on a shampoo, how-ever I do colour my hair regularly which means my hair can sometimes feel dry and brittle. I'm also growing my hair as well so I wanted something that would not only help with the colour but something that would leave my hair looking shiny and in good condition. I was a little disappointed that the scent of the product doesn't really stay in your hair as the shampoo does smell really nice. Although the shampoo is more expensive than my previous brands such as Aussie or Naked, I would definitely purchase this shampoo again and I would also recommend it to others who regularly colour their hair.

I have also purchased the conditioner so I will be writing a review about this product shortly.
