      Advantages

      Disadvantages

      An effective shampoo.

      When tired, stressed and run down I suffer from psoriasis on my scalp as well as a little bit of dandruff. My scalp becomes extremely dry, itcy and flaky especially across my hair line which I think is a combination of the two nasty skin conditions. Whatever it actually is, it is most unpleasant to the eye and very uncomfortable when it begins to itch!

      Bemoaning my ailments to my Mum, who is always a good ear to 'bleat' on to, she got me some of this KMS Daily Fixx Dandruff Shampoo and within 2 washes, my dry, flaky, itchy scalp was no more!!

      ~ KMS ~

      I have only ever been able to buy KMS hair care products from my hairdresser. Please correct me if I'm wrong but up here in the NE of England I've never seen them in shops like Boots or Superdrug etc........

      I have a few of their products and have been really impressed by all of them despite what appears to be a high price at the time!

      KMS have a huge range of hair care produce on the market at the moment, they have divided their range in to ten colour-coded regimes which I have listed below, including the colours of the packaging:

      * Add volume (green)
      * Colour Vitality (blue)
      * Curl Up (orange)
      * Moisture Repair (light blue)
      * Flat Out (purple)
      * Hair Play (green)
      * Hair Stay (pink)
      * Daily Fixx Remedy (pale turquoise)
      * Silk Sheen (orange/pale peach)
      * Turn Style (pale aquamarine)

      As you can see there is a huge range available to meet most people's needs.

      ~ Daily Fixx Range ~

      The dandruff shampoo that I am reviewing comes within this range which has been formulated for everyday use, here are a few examples of the products within this range:

      * Clarifying shampoo
      * Totally clean shampoo
      * Everyday shampoo
      * Moisture reconstructor
      * Moisture shampoo
      * Clarifying treatment
      Most are available in different sizes: 125ml, 250ml & 750ml.

      ~ Daily Fixx Dandruff Shampoo ~

      This gentle shampoo is clinically proven to control dandruff and associated itching and flaking to the scalp. It is said to cleanse as well as moisturise.

      Massage a small amount into hair and scalp, rinse well and repeat if desired. For best results use at least twice a week or as directed.

      I know, the instructions contradict the title 'Daily Fixx' which does suggest daily usage!!

      ~ My experience ~

      This comes in a very pale turquoise / aquamarine bottle, I think the photo shown by dooyoo is quite an old one!This 250ml was £7.95 from the hairdressers so it will probably cost approx £5 wholesale as they are bound to put a bit on top of the actual cost!
      I have since been buying it on ebay from a kms stockist at a lower price.

      It has a transparent flip top section at the top of it from whence the shampoo comes out from a small hole.

      The shampoo itself is quite an unusual consistency. It reminds me of a claggy glue substance that I use at work (a school). When you squeeze the bottle you actually have to scrape the 'hole' area on to your hand to separate the shampoo that's on your hand and the rest of the substance that wants to come out. I hope that makes sense, i.e. it doesnt' 'break off' when you stop squeezing.

      I have used so many different anti-dandruff and psoriasis shampoos like T-Gel etc in the past but have never seen this type of consistency before and the colour is slightly off-putting only because a deep turquoise isn't my favourite shade!

      My Mum's hairdresser advised me to apply this, massage it in to my scalp and on the first time of using it, leave it on for ten minutes. (Note that this doesn't say this on the bottle). On the second application I was told that two minutes was a sufficient length of time to leave it on.

      I did as instructed by a pro and what a difference!!

      On the first application, I think I put too much on as I didn't quite have the knack of scraping it off in to the palm of my hand and wasn't sure of the amount needed. Regardless of this, it worked up a nice lather and having left it on for ten minutes I didn't feel a tingling almost stinging sensation that I have experienced with T-Gel products.

      It rinsed off extremely easily and my hair felt squeaky clean but I must admit a little dry and coarse, although that is the nature of my hair, so I applied my usual Cobella conditioner.

      The second time I used this, I was much more of a pro at dispensing the correct amount in to the palm of my hand. Again, a good lather and easy to rinse off. Following the hairdressers instructions, I only left it on for a couple of minutes.

      2 weeks later and four applications, i.e twice weekly, my scalp was no longer frustratingly itchy or flaky.............it's absolutely brilliant stuff.

      I went to the hairdressers last week who told me that now that the dandruff and flakiness has gone, I should only use the product if it flares up again or once a month as according to her professional training it's not great for frequent use as it does dry out the hair too much, so I'm sticking to the advice I have been given but am open to any other suggestions from any reviewers!

      And so to the smell....................I have been so used to the quite repugnant smell of T-Gel and other psoriasis / dandruff shampoo treatments that I was whole-heartedly expecting this to be much the same..............not so. As promised on the bottle it most certainly is fragrance free which is a real plus.

      This is a totally fantastic anti-dandruff shampoo remedy and as I don't need to use it very often the price doesn't seem astronomical as I can envisage it lasting well up to a year. A real must-have treatment for anyone who suffers from a similar scalp condition/irritation as I do.
