Advantages: Slightly relaxes frizz.
Disadvantages: The cost & doesn't totally flatten out my frizzy hair!
~ KMS ~
I have only ever been able to buy KMS hair care products from my hairdresser. Please correct me if I'm wrong but up here in the NE of England I've never seen them in shops like Boots or Superdrug etc........
I have a few of their products and have been really impressed by all of them despite what appears to be a high price at the time!
KMS have a huge range of hair care produce on the market at the moment, they have divided their range in to ten colour-coded regimes which I have listed below, including the colours of the packaging:
* Add volume (green)
* Colour Vitality (blue)
* Curl Up (orange)
* Moisture Repair (light blue)
* Flat Out (purple)
* Hair Play (green)
* Hair Stay (pink)
* Daily Fixx Remedy (pale turquoise)
* Silk Sheen (orange/pale peach)
* Turn Style (pale aquamarine)
As you can see there is a huge range available to meet most people's needs.
~ The 'Flat Out' Range ~
There are a number of products in this range, intended to flatten frizzy, coarse hair!!
* Shampoo
* Hair prepare
* Weightless shine spray
* Shine serum
* Hot pressed spray
~ Price ~
I initially bought this from my hairdresser who used it on my hair in the salon with amazing results. I was charged £14.00 for a 200ml tube but have since found slightly cheaper prices on the internet.
If you visit kelkoo they will give you a range of different options and the cheapest I came across was hqhair.com at £9.00 with P&P at £2.50 so it's still cheaper than my hairdressers!
~ Packaging ~
As described previously, the Flat Out range are all in purpley bottles. This one sits on it's 'dispensing end'. It has a flip top and the creme is easily distributed on the palm of your hand through a small hole.
~ What does it promise? ~
* Controls hair
* Non-chemical creme
* Relaxes, smoothes and soothes curls and frizz without weighing hair down
This is on the back of the bottle but other sites have said:
* Defrizzant and curl relaxer for fine to medium hair
* Provides sleekness and softness
* Miracle cream that infuses high shine
* Leaves the most unruly hair sleek and smooth
~ My experience ~
Those of you who know me and my reviews of old will know that my hair is exremely difficult to control and if left to dry naturally is coarse, frizzy and a total mess!
The idea is that you apply this cream to towel dried hair, combing it through so that there is an even distribution.
Having used lots of so-called hair miracle cures in the past, I was initially quite wary of applying too much of the cream incase it left my hair looking too greasy.
I initially applied quite a small amount of this and found no difference in control so have since applied a more liberal amount, about the size of a 1p coin to the palm of my hand. Rubbed it together in my hands and applied it predominantly to the ends of my hair in an attempt to avoid the root section as this technique tends to leave hair quite lank and lifeless at the top with frizz at the ends which believe me is not an attractive look!
The cream itself has a pleasant, subtle smell to it, almost like a facial moisturiser that isn't highly perfumed. It is easily applied to your hair.
I was expecting great things from this, having been a huge fan of other kms hair products.
It has to be said that my hair is so unruly that even the most expert of hairdressers is prone to using straighteners at the end of my blow drying appointment in order to get a sleeker look!
I have to say that although this cream did not make my hair look fantastically sleek and smooth after blow drying it, it did make it a little less unruly and frizzy, a definite bonus for me. This meant that not as much straightening was required but I certainly could not have gone out without having used the straighteners.
Therefore kms's claim that this cream 'relaxes, smoothes and soothes curls and frizz' is somewhat correct. The extent to which it does this is obviously dependent on how unruly and frizzy your hair is! Since mine is of the highest degree it doesn't totally smooth and sleek my hair but as stated earlier it certainly relaxes it more than a lot of products I have tried in the past and believe me, I could have opened a hair care shop, the amount I have bought!
~ My verdict ~
If you have a tad frizz to your hair this will work wonders and for those of you like me, this is one of the better ones on the market, making your hair a little more manageable and unruly! Although it seems expensive at the time my 200ml tube has so far lasted me 4 months, based on 2 or 3 times a week of usage so it isn't too extortionate.
My 4 star rating is based on the fact that it doesn't smooth and relax my frizziness 100%.
Oh how I wish I had been blessed with sleek, 'wash and go' type hair!!
Summary: A better hair calmer than most I have tried.
