L'Oreal does not disappoint its customers with its products. It is a very good spray and it does what you want a hairspray to do.
It gives your hair a glossy look but it doesn't leave your hair very hard. Instead, your hair stay soft and it doesn't look like you are wearing a spray.
The best thing is that this spray is easy to brush out. At night or after coming back home, you can always brush your hair and get rid of the product.
The spray doesn't build-up. The spray does not dry out your hair.
It has a strong hold and hairdo holds for all day long. It works pretty well outside as well, even when there is a breeze. Though I cannot say anything about a strong wind. After all, it is just a hairspray.
All you have to do is to keep the spray can 30 cm away from your hair. Then spatter it on your hair.
The only thing I do not like about this spray is the smell. My hair smell nice when I am wearing this spray. But when I use this spray, my room fills with its artificial fragrance and who enters the room complains that it is getting in with breath. I actually get a bitter taste in my mouth when I speak after I just used the spray.
Other than that, it is a product worth buying and you may actually love it. Plus, it is not expensive for the work it does.
Currently available at Boots for £6.60 for a large 400ml container, L'Oreal Elnett Satin Diamond Hold literally does what it says on the can. A gentle spraying gives your hair long-lasting hold with a glossy shine and softness and brushes out easily.
The packaging is distinctive for this product - it's golden container has altered very little over the years. L'Oreal appears to cover the breadth of female age ranges with its marketing strategy. The packaging remains traditional and distinctive - whilst Cheryl Cole endorses the product.
The product's instructions tell you to shake the can and spray your hair in short bursts from about 30cm away. (There are also the usual warnings about solvent abuse and the fact that this product is flammable.)
My hair is very thick, shoulder length hair - a real test of hold for any hairspray. However, I have confidence in this product. You can tell its quality when you use it. I last curled my hair when I went to a wedding several weeks ago and applied this hairspray on that occasion. Despite there being a light breeze, the hairspray kept my style in place and my hair felt soft and looked good. I have also worn this hairspray on hot days and it does as it says on the can in these conditions too - protects your hair from humidity and that awful harassed 'frizz' that fine, thick hair can suddenly take on in these circumstances. Your hair doesn't have that awful tacky feel to it either when using this product. Nobody wants to go for a night out and have to feel that they need to wash their hair as soon as they get back. This product brushes out without issue.
The only thing I really can't stand about this product is the smell when it goes on. My daughters like the smell - but I think it's chemically and over-fragranced. Luckily the smell seems to wear off quite quickly. I have used Elnett for years, so has my hairdresser. It is a little expensive (Boots Essentials Extra Firm Hold Hairspray 450ml is £1.65, for example) but in my opinion, worth the price for how well it holds your hair.
I am giving it 4 stars as it's a quality, long-lasting hairspray - but I hate how it smells.
