L'Oreal Elvive Colour Protect Conditioner
Advantages: smells nice
Disadvantages: thin liquid
When I visited Boots they had a buy one get one free offer on L'oreal Elvive. I regularly choose the Colour perfect range because I have been dying my hair for a number of years and want a shampoo and conditioner that work together and help look after my hair and protect it. Dying hair does take a lot out of it and I need to keep my hair in good condition otherwise it looks lifeless and dull.

I paid £3.75 for a 400ml bottle of shampoo and conditioner. I bought them from Boots and was really surprised at this great offer.
I prefer the bottle of the conditioner to the design of the shampoo bottle because it is sat on the lid to dispense it. This means that it is always ready to pour and when the bottle is nearly empty you do not have to spend ages tipping the bottle up on its end in order to get the product out; gravity has already forced it to the bottom.
The conditioner smells clean and fresh with a hint of floral notes. When my hair is blow dried it smells very pleasant. It is quite a subtle scent and is not overpowering but I do quite like it.
The conditioner is not as thick as others and I would describe it as quite runny in consistency. I do not mind this, however I feel like I need a good squirt in order to condition my whole head. I tend to massage the conditioner into the ends and try and avoid too much concentration on the roots. Although, I have never had greasy hair from using this conditioner and as long as it is washed out properly, then my hair stays clean looking for a long time.
I think that the conditioner does help protect the longevity of my hair colour as it remains dark and full of colour for ages. I only need to re dye it really to cover up my roots.
It keeps my hair really soft and cared for. If I had any complaints, it would be that the conditioner made my hair too soft and a bit fly away. It is quite thin and does need some taming, styling it is easy as the conditoner makes it easy to comb through and dissolves any knots, however it probably does not give it as much body as I would hope for.
I like the conditioner, mainly for the price. I probably would not say that I love it as there are plenty of others that I prefer, however I do like it and would buy it again. It looks after my coloured hair and has added UV filters that help protect it from the elements. I just wish it added a bit more body to it.
Summary: A nice companion to the colour protect shampoo
