      A good shampoo

I tend to change my shampoos quite often because my hair seems to get used to one kind of shampoo and then not respond well to it. One of my more recent purchases was the l'oreal elvive smooth intense anti frizz shampoo because with the recent heat I have noticed my hair frizzing a bit more than usual and I hoped that this shampoo would help combat that a bit. This is my review of the product.

The shampoo comes in a golden orange coloured plastic bottle through which you can see the shampoo which I think is always a good thing because you can easily see with a glance how much you have left. On the bottle there is the l'oreal elvive name as well as the specific product name. We are told that this anti frizz shampoo is enriched with Moroccan argan oil which seems to be all the rage recently as well as a thermo protect which combined will help nourish and tame your hair as well as give lasting smoothness.

On the back of the bottle there is a bit more information about the science of the shampoo and we are told that the argan oil will smooth and calm frizz right down to the ends and that the thermo protect offers 48 hour protection from dampness, humidity, static and flyaways. The back of the bottle also says that the shampoo has proven results from lab expirements and these are that it will leave hair four times smoother, that it does offer 48 hours protection from frizz and that it will leave your hair silky, soft and manageable. The whole sound of this shampoo sounded great to me because of the fact that my hair is thick and has been frizzy recently.

The lid is easy to flip up when you are in the bath or the shower which is obviously a positive thing. I use a blob of shampoo around the size of a fifty pence piece on my hair because it is quite long and thick. The shampoo is a clear colour and has a really fresh and sweet smelling scent which I think is really lovely and one that I am happy to have on my hair. The shampoo does lather really well on my hair and the scent is even more noticeable as I lather it up. I tend to wash my hair twice with any shampoo after being given this recommendation at my hairdressers and so I do the same with this shampoo although I don't do it every time.

Once I have washed the shampoo out of my hair I find that my hair feels nice and soft. I always blow dry and straighten my hair after I have washed it and I find that it dries quite nicely and feels soft. It has a shine to it as well once I have used this shampoo and generally makes my hair look in good condition. The scent doesn't linger on my hair once I have dried and straightened it which is a bit of a let down but seems the case with many shampoos I have tried. I do think that the oil in the shampoo helps make my hair appear a bit less frizzy but I don't think it gives 48 hour protection by any means, certainly not on my hair anyway! I find with this shampoo I absolutely have to wash my hair every other day which isn't different from any other one I use really but the oil in this product means I wouldn't want to try and go a couple of days without washing my hair.

A 250ml bottle of this shampoo costs £2.79 in Asda currently which I think is a reasonable price to pay for a bottle of shampoo like this. I would recommend it if you have thick hair prone to frizzing because it does help tame it a bit. It isn't as awesome as the bottle would suggest but then bottles always make big claims! I find the hair around my quiff if I wear my hair like that does tend to frizz a little bit but not as much as it would in this weather if I wasn't using this shampoo.

Thank you for reading my review!
