L'Oreal For Kids- I will actually be reviewing the extra gentle 2 in 1 Cheeky Cherry Almond Shampoo.
Just to smell this makes me feel brilliant. Honestly, the smell of the cherries is beautiful. I have been using this since I was younger and I recently picked up this edition. I tend to use it as a one off to just carry on the routine of using it because I really do like it. It does say it is for kids, but so what, adults can use it if they want!!
This is a cherry and almond flavour 2 in 1 shampoo. It smells gorgeous and it makes your hair smell great too! This is so soft and mild, it is tear free! It also makes your hair super shiny and soft- shiny in a good way- glossy! It has a creamy formula which makes hair more manageable! This is really easy to use and it has great effects.
The reasons why I like this are:
*It smells good enough to eat
*This makes my hair soft and easy to cope with
*This is reasonably cheap
*It is a trusted brand
*Makes hair look great
The only reason I have to rate this down a little bit is because I actually feel the need to put conditioner on too because I don't think this gives enough protection and with my hair being quite long and thick and bleached, it would be more sensible to put more on!
This is available to buy from supermarkets and lots of other places. I got this from Waitrose for £1.99 and I thought that was a bargain!
When you put some in your hand and apply this to your hair, you should lather it up well as this makes it smell better and the cherry infuses through your locks!
My daughter is a brilliant swimmer. Shell dive down to the bottom of the deep end of the pool and retrieve just about anything off the bottom for you. She can swim crawl with her face in the water. But when it comes to washing her hair
well, thats a different matter.
Try shampooing her hair, and you will end up with the neighbours thinking you are torturing her.
One Friday afternoon, we were shopping in Asda, when to my amazement, she picked up a bottle of shampoo. Now, we all know that advertising works on kids, but shampoo on the worlds worst hair wash wimp? The bottle is an odd sort of shape, and is kind of lop sided, made to look like a fish with an eye at the top. The bottle she chose was a pale green colour, with a yellow cap, and had Burst of Cool Melon written at the bottom. It has LOREAL Kids emblazoned across the middle.
I opened the lid, and took a sniff. Mmm. That smells quite nice. Fairly strong and fruity, but not overpowering. I wouldnt exactly call it melon. In fact, I really cant put my finger on the smell, but it is quite nice.
I took another look at the front. No Tears! No Knots! Fast Drying!
Fast drying? How on earth can they claim that? I like the idea of no tears as shampoo does have a tendency to sting. Reading the back of the bottle, it tells you that its advanced formula means it is fast drying, and that the formula is gentle, and tested under ophthalmic control.
Well, at £1.69 for 250mls, it isnt the cheapest shampoo in the world, but anything that will stop my daughter from having limp hair from not washing out all that chlorine has got to be worth a try.
Swim day arrived again, and after her lesson, I thrust this into her little mits, and said, Heres the shampoo you asked for. Please wash your hair. To which I received a big smile, and she disappeared off to the showers.
Now, on this occasion, I didnt hear any screams. My daughter claimed that this did not sting her eyes. On the other hand, we still had the usual shouts of MUM. PLEASE WILL YOU HAND ME THE TOWEL TO WIPE MY EYES? Yes, she still shouts, but at least its not a scream.
After washing her hair, we went home to dry it. I cant say that it took less time to dry, as I really dont think it make much difference. Before I settled her into bed, I gave her a hug. Maybe Im a bit strange (OK, you didnt HAVE to agree with me), but I do like to smell my children. I gave her hair a sniff, and it smelled wonderful.
There are other fragrances in the range, and we are working our way through them.
You could try:
Burst of Tropical Fruit
Burst of Cherry Almond (smells like Bakewell Tart)
Burst of Pineapple Flash
Splash of Sunny Orange Swim Shampoo (great at getting rid of the smell of chlorine and smells great too)
It doesn't leave the hair as tangle free as you would expect from their claims, but all in all it is better than most products we have used.
We use this all the time now. My son likes the fruity smells too. Id recommend this product for all children. I have also used it on my own hair from time to time, and it leaves your hair feeling nice and soft.
Seeing as I?m a child stuck in an adult?s body, I like nothing more than to slather fruity gunk all over my head and treat the shampoo bottle like a microphone in the shower. It?s hard to find a shampoo that I like as my family at home were constantly buying different brands week in, week out, but when I moved away to go to uni, I had the task of fending for myself and I came across L?Oréal Kids shampoo. It?s so tasty! Well, not tasty per se, but they all smell just as they are described on the bottle. The brand I use is the Burst of Cherry-Almond and comes in an easy to hold soft, squishy red bottle with an orange cap. Burst of Cherry-Almond is formulated with extra conditioning treatment and smells great! My sister was recently visiting and neglected to bring any shampoo with her and after using mine, went out and bought it the next day. I find that this particular ?flavour? is great for Asian type hair as it gives it more volume and shine and makes your head smell delicious. There I go again, making food references to my own head, I guess it?s lucky I?m not using the pineapple one as that would be more apt with my hairstyle! L?Oréal Kids shampoo is available in several different types suited for different hair varieties. The blue bottle (Splash of Sunny Orange Swim Shampoo) is infused with an orange smell (duh) that is formulated to wash away the smell of sea water and chlorine and also the 2 in 1 extra mild conditioning powers help to replace lost minerals that can be damaged by impurities whilst swimming. Burst of Tropical Fruit (for normal hair) comes in an orange bottle and is pretty self explanatory. Burst of Banana-Melon for fine hair comes in a yellowy bottle, whereas the Burst of Watermelon is for thick, wavy
or curly hair and comes in a green bottle. Finally, there?s the one that I like to use the most, the Burst of Cherry-Almond. Although the smell of the shampoo itself is quite strong, when used on your hair, it smells quite subtle and is really only noticeable when someone sniffs your head like a cantaloupe. The ?No tears, no knots? promise stays true to its word as no irritation is caused to the eyes if any lather gets in them. Great stuff! That?s not to say that you shouldn?t rinse it out though if it DOES get into their eyes. I actually don?t know about the ?no knots? bit of the promise as I have short hair so please feel free to leave me a comment and let me know if you have a child with long hair how uses this, or even, if YOU use this and have long hair! There is also a fast-dry shampoo by L?Oréal Kids called Burst of Pineapple Flash, however, I can?t use this as I am allergic to it, even though the bottle states that it has an ?extra gentle? formula, thus why this product does not score 5/5. It states on the back that it has been tested under ophthalmologist control (whatever that means, sounds confusing) but it brought me out in a rash on my face for two weeks, even after I stopped using it. However, it only seemed to affect the left side of my face so perhaps that?s extra sensitive, I don?t? know. So be warned. Another warning I feel I should include may seem silly, but it?s worth mentioning. It states on the bottle ?caution ? do not swallow?, which may seem like common sense, but young users may try to eat this stuff as it smells like the real thing. Seriously. So keep an eye on the young ?uns when they wash their hair. If they do swallow it, do not induce vomiting but make them drink lots of milk and take both them and the bottle to the doctor surgery A
3;AP. L?Oréal Kids also do other products too such as gel, conditioner and tangle tamer. The shampoo comes in one size, but is small enough to take away on holiday too as it comes in a handy 250ml bottle for about £1.70 (depending on where you buy it). The general ingredients are: @ Aqua @ Cyclopentasiloxane @ Dimethiconol @ Acrylates/C10-30 @ Alkyl @ Acrylate @ Crosspolymer @ Aminomethyl @ Propanol @ Diazolidinyl @ Urea @ Hydroxypropl @ Guar @ Niacinamide @ Panthenol @ Peg-40 @ Hydrogenated Castoil @ Phenyl @ Trimethicone @ Potassium Sorbate @ Parfum
L'oreal kids shampoo is one of my secret weapons to wonderful healthy soft and shiney hair.I have very sensitive skin and find that a lot other shampoos bring me out in a rash. When my skin is flared up I cant use it but when its not I find that this is gentle enough not to cause a flare up. I find that one wash is enough and that it rinses off very easily but I am not sure how it would perform for people who use a lot of styling products as I use none. As its a two in one theres no need for conditioner. It also leaves hair tangle free! As its very gentle and mild it is suitable for all the family - although the fruity fragrance may put some people off. It can be obtained from every chemist or supermarket and costs around £1.50 and comes in a cute bottle shaped like a fish.(My niece love to use them as bath toys once empty and as they come in different coloured bottles they now have a 'fish family') I normally use the 'strawberry'(for super soft hair) or 'cherry'(extra conditioning) flavoured variety but there are other fruity flavours to try for different hair types. I would recommend that every bathroom contained this shampoo as its great for everyone.
Bathtime is supposed to be fun and enjoyable... Well not in our house... I always end up with the kids in bath with me, because Amanda and I struggle to wash their hair in any other way! I literally have to restrain them while she pours water over their poor little heads and then washes their hair! The shampoo we just bought for the children is L’Oreal Kids 2-in-1, 250ml, the bottle is brightly coloured orange with a green lid, and the design is fun and simple. The shampoo itself smells lovely, on the bottle is reads ‘burst of tropical fruit’ and it really does smell good enough to eat! L’Oreal are a big well-established company and there ad campaigning has been fronted by a great many big names Jennifer Aniston, David Ginola, Sarah Michelle Gellar. Do you recognise the phrase ‘Because I’m worth it’? - Well that’s L’Oreal. It also says on the bottle ‘No Tears! No Knots!’ that’s the thing that sold it to me ‘if this shampoo says it can shut the kids up at bath time, there’s no way I’m leaving it on the shelf’ I thought, so that’s why I bought it. Our kids hate bath time and I can’t wait for them to shut-up as soon as I put this shampoo on their heads! And that’s a big promise to make I’m afraid – especially when your kids just hate baths, here I was thinking I had some magic potion that was going to give me a couple of little water babies instantly and really it’s just shampoo! You use it in the regular fashion – wet hair, apply a ‘burst’ of shampoo, lather and rinse. I’m sorry but apart from the fruity taste, not chemical and over-perfumed like a lot of regular shampoos, and behind all that coloured plastic, it is still just a shampoo! I think it’s a sweet idea to have a kid’s shampoo, but it really is just another moneymaking gimmick! <
br> And what confused me even more was that if it really is ‘Tear free’ then why does it state ‘In case of contact with eyes, rinse immediately’. To be fair though it does appear to have cost them more money to make this shampoo, because they’ve had to employ an ‘ophthalmologist’ to test it out. Before they invented ‘kids’ shampoo they weren’t that bothered about our eyes! To here are the ingredients anyway – AQUA, SODIUM LAURETH SULFATE, PEG-200 HYDROGENATED GLYCERYL PALMATE, DISODIUM COCOAMPHODIACETATE, PEG-30 GLYCERYL COCOATE, SODIUM CHLORIDE, PEG-7 GLYCERYL COCOATE, HEXYLENE GLYCOL, CI 47005, CI 14700, NIACINAMIDE, SODIUM LAURETH-8 SULPHATE METHYLPARABEN, SODIUM ALETH SULPHATE, DMDM HYDANTOIN, MAGNESIUM LAURETH-8 SULPHATE, MAGNESIUM LAURETH SULPHATE, MAGNESIUM OLETH SULPHATE, POLYQUARTERNUM-10, PANTHENOL, TARTARIC ACID, DISODIUM RICINOLEAMIDO MEA-SULFOSUCCINATE, PARFUM. So, in conclusion, I think it’s a nice idea, but a novelty really, I think regular shampoo is just as good…'It's just not worth it!'. Now, if you ever do hear about the stuff that when it says ‘No Tears’ means NO tears, let me know….
After buying the usual baby shampoos and realising that they are pretty much all the same, we found some new product on the shelf above the ones we used to buy. We had discovered L'Oreal for kids, after several minutes of sniffing the different flavours (such as watermelon and various other fruits) the descision was difficult, but we made off to the next aisle with no less than three different smells!!! On getting home and having our dinners we decided to bath the kids. Another difficult descision now, which one to use! So we used a different one on each of the kids, Shannon has long fine hair and in no time at all it was covered in a rich lather of foam and smelt good enough to eat! Where as Christian has almost no hair and it worked wonders on him too. After rinsing them off and getting them out of the bath all i could smell was the lovely shampoo smell, so I voluntered to use the Hairdrier. I found that the hair was almost tangle free as i pulled the brush through it. Shannons hair being so fine dries quickly and it smelled gorgeous as it was drying, and when it was dry it was really clean and shiney! Its a wonderful product with great smells, thats why every time its kids bath time theres none left!!! I am addicted to the stuff!! I cant remember the price, but its about the same as we paid for the others.(somwhere in the region of £2) Its also friendly towards kids eyes like the others and comes in very colourful bottles, not the normal clear ones!( making the side of the bath look much nicer)
Ever tried to keep shampoo out of your kids eyes in a shower? Not an easy job, I assure you. I bought one of those crazy looking rubber things for around their heads, but it didn't work. I tried several different kids shampoos, with no success until I tried Loreal kids shampoo. It really is good. No matter how much lather gets onto their wee faces, no iritation is caused to their eyes. It comes in a variety of styles, for dry, greasy, 2 in 1 etc. It also has a variety of nice smells. It leaves the kids hair lovely and shiny. But the real selling factor for me was that it really was 'no more tears'. I found it so good that I use it on myself too, because, afterall, I'm worth it too!
L'Oreal Kids Raspberry Hair Gel> I bought this product because I recently cut my son's hair with some hair shaver's. What a disaster!! If you've ever cut a childs hair you'll know how hard it can be to get them to sit still, in my son's case this is nigh on impossible as he's only 14 mths old. I have tried taking him to the hairdresser's but this proved to much for him and he promtly started screaming at the top of his voice lung's ,lol. So you can imagine my dilemma - he was starting to look like a hippy dude so I had to take action!! Well when I had finished shaving the back of his head and was quite pleased with the result's - I then proceded onto the top - he wriggled around that much that the attachment popped of and he ended up with a wee bit missing in his fringe area (oh the guilt) I felt terribly guilty about this and he also looked a little bit silly, lol. So off we popped to the shop to see if there was anything I could use to try and disguise my mistake!! Not much choice really in my local chemist. Then I spotted this and thought "this must be good, I've seen it on tv". I paid for my L'Oreal raspberry burst hair gel (which wasn't exactly cheap at £1.99 for a 250ml bottle) and went home to try it out. By the way he WAS wearing a hat to hide the said mistake, lol so he wasn't to embarrased. The bottle's a nice shape and it's red and blue with yellow writting on it - very eye-catching. I personally don't think pacgaging is too important but, I suppose it's got to be presentable hasn't it? The information on the bottle is quite a good read for a hair gel product! THE INFORMATION ---------------- Extra gentle styling gel plus manager Not sticky Helps stop unruly hair in it's track's Suitable for all hair type's Contain's no alcohol (alway's a good th
ing in my book) It's say on the bottle that it's so gentle it's tear free and Ophthalmologist tested (whatever that mean's) I suppose if you using this on long hair it will help against tangling and knotted hair but, as my son had just been more or less scalped this wasn't really an issue!! So I squited a small amount onto my palm as directed on the bottle and applied it to his hair - especially his fringe area - spiked what was left up and hay presto - he now looked very cool and no longer like he'd had a barny (fight) with the barber!! When it drie's you can't really tell it's on but the hair doe's stay where you styled it to so, thats good. Extremely good in this case, lol..... You will all be pleased to learn that my son's hair is now doing fine and in recovery!! It's growing back and you can hardly tell where I accidently shaved his fringe off. INGREDIENTS: ------------- Aqua, Cyclopentasiloxane, Dimethiconol, Acrylates/C10-30, Alkyl, Acrylate, Crosspolymer, Aminomethyl, Propanol, Diazolidinyl Urea, Hydroxypropl, Guar, Niacinamide, Panthenol, Peg-40, Hydrogenated Castoil, Phenyl, Trimethicone, Potassium Sorbate, Parfum. ONE SMALL CAUTION ----------------- I would recommend this to any-one with kid's but I would also like to add that I have a small worry about the product. This product smell's absolutely scrumptious - infact some kids may even find that it smell's good enough to eat, so if you are letting your children use this themselve's - make sure they know it's for there hair and ABSOLUTELY not to be eaten. It smell's like raspberry jelly to me and kid's will probably think so too. I still highly recommend it - hence the 5 star rating :)'''' Happy styling every-one:)
I have a three year old daughter who has very long hair. Washing her hair has always been a nightmare and so much worse is controlling and brushing her hair. Yes this shampoo is in many respects the greatest. The bottle is colourful, the shampoo smells yummy and no tears too. The shampoo lathers easily only using a small amount and washes out of the hair beautifully. I have used the extra conditioning 2-in-1 shampoo for a number of months now. Unfortunately in my experience it has not made it any easier to control my daughter's flyaway hair or in fact prevented the knots in her hair.
My son hates having his hair washed, in particular the rinsing bit. So any product that can make our lives easier gets a thumbs up from us. I bought L'oreal's kids shampoo and conditioner in one because it mean't I would only have to put one product on my son's hair, meaning only one rinse. To be fair to L'oreal, the product is effective, my son's hair was always soft and tangle free after use. It has also been tested under opthalmologist control with a no tear formular, although of course I haven't tested this theory! The downside is that the shampoo with conditioner only comes in one variety;"A burst of Cherry Almond." Unfortunately, the perfume in this product is totally overpowering and smells of the worst medicine you can remember from your childhood. My son, at 21 months, is too young to really complain about the smell, but I'm not, and at £1.70, it's been an expensive waste of money. It now lays dormant in the bathroom cabinet. Perhaps I could use it to shampoo my dogs, thats if they let me!
I have been using L'Oreal shampoo and conditioner on my childrens hair for a few months now and have found it to be great! It smells fantastic, it almost makes your mouth water, smelling of grapes and melon etc. The children love it as it looks and smells more like a 'grown up' shampoo, and yet it is 'no more tears' so they don't mind getting it in their eyes. It has also been good for my daughters hair which is long and fine and tends to be a bit flyaway. I can buy this at my local shop for £1.50 which I think is quite reasonable especially as it's L'Oreal, and it is often on 'buy one get one free' in Superdrug. I hope you find this useful!
L'oreal kids shampoo is really good. I have used it ever since my daughter grew out of baby shampoo. Not only does it leave your childs hair clean and shinny it always smells fantastic. My daughters hair is quie fine and gets tangeled quite easy but with this shampoo and conditioner we have hardley any knots. Another thing I really like about it is the differant fruits in the range. My dayghter spends ages in the supermarket decideing which she fancies to buy. I think it also encourages kids to have there hair washed as it is ina realy colourfull, fun bottle. The only down point is really is that it is a little more expensive than most kids shampoo but they do have a lot of offers where you buy one get one free. But it is well worth payingthe extra for.
I tried this shampoo as so many people on here have said that it makes their children’s hair thicker. My daughter is now 3 and still has baby fine hair so I thought that it was worth a go. The smell is meant to be melon but it smells more like bubble gum and even my daughter says “it smells nasty”! It is a two in one shampoo but the conditioner isn’t very good. If I wash her hair at night, by the time the next morning comes it is extremely knotty and hard to brush. On a positive side though, it does makes her hair look clean and shiny (once I’ve managed to get a brush through it!) and it really lathers up well. I know that alot of people really like this shampoo so I guess that it just doesn’t suit my little ones hair. I think that I will stick to Johnson’s from now on!
My daughter has curly hair which at it’s best you can just manage to get a hairbrush through it is wild and untamable. After a few months of putting up with this and having her scream to high heaven every time it needed brushing, I decided that we really needed some conditioner. So we sent Daddy out with some money to buy some no tears conditioner, he turned up with L’oreal kids extra gentle conditioner. It claimed on the bottle to have added detangler, no tears and No flyaway formula, it also included for hard to manage hair, exactly what we needed. It was juicy grape flavour, well if nothing else, atleast she would smell nice, I thought at the time. We tried it later night and it was brilliant, there certainly weren’t any tears from the conditioner and it smells gorgeous. After her hair had dried the hair formed cute little ringlets rather than the hard to brush fizz ball it had been before and it was still that way two days later. There is no need to use muchof the conditioner, I have still got the 250ml bottle and it has lasted me a couple of months now. I wash my daughters hair about 3 times a week on average, but I only use a very minimal amount, but that is enough to leave her hair looking silky soft, easy to comb and manageable (I am starting to sound like a shampoo advert now!) If you need to buy conditioner for whatever reason then I definitely think you should give this product a try.
I have been using this product since its inception and I think it is probably the best product on the market. My son loves it. I especially love the smell of the Burst of Watermelon shampoo. I have used it too!. My mum always has her hair permed and complained that her hair was a nightmare to comb after washing, so I told her about the L'Oreal kids range and gave her one of my sons to try..(I had built up quite a mass as Superdrugs and Boots often do 'buy one get one free' so I always stock up. Since my mum tried it she has used nothing else!. It really is a must try product.
