Although my skin tone is not exactly pale, as it starts to get a bit warmer, my arms and legs seems to catch the sun really easily however it seems to take ages for my face to catch it and I always feel like it looks a bit pasty so I decided to invest in some bronzer for my face.
In the past I had brought cheap compressed powder versions however my face either just looked streaky, dirty or orange however I found this was not the case here.
Simply rub your brush over the pearls a couple of times and then apply where desired. I put mine on the areas where you would naturally catch the sun first so give me a more realistic look (i.e. forehead, cheeks and nose) however when I am off on a night out, I would put all over my face as I normally wear fake tan on my body.
The only downside I found with this product is when you take the brush off, some of the bronzer is underneath so when you apply to your face, some of the product does end up dropping on your clothes.
Having said this, I think that the fact the brush it attached is ideal, it means when I go away or go out, I haven't got to worry about taking a separate brush out with me.
It is available in two different shades, Brunette and Blonde, I chose Brunette due to my hair colouring (although not sure if this matters).
The RRP is around £14, I have found it always seems to be on a 3 for 2 offer either at Boots or Superdrug so I managed to stock up on some other products at the same time.
I have had mine for about a year now and its still got loads left.
If you are looking for a bronzer, I would recommend you try this one as cheaper versions just are not as good.
I can remember using a bronzing powder for the first time a few years ago and being pleasantly surprised by it, as at the time I really didn't expect very much from it. However, as I was suitably impressed, a bronzer has since became one of my favourite cosmetics.
My first bronzing powder I bought was from the Collection 2000 range. Budget-priced and a fairly good product, as are many in the Collection 2000 range and I thought why pay more and continued to use it, fairly happy with the results.
It was my daughter who first began singing the praises of 'mineral' powders and she gave me some to try. I particularly liked the light feel on my skin and their bronzing effect and so I purchased a cheaper alternative from a friend's Avon catalogue but wasn't impressed with my purchase at all and went back to using a bronzing powder.
Then not long afterwards I had some birthday vouchers to use and I found myself purchasing these L'Oreal Glam Bronze Pearls from Boots. At £13 they were cheaper than some other brands, but there were also certainly cheaper alternatives and at the time I wasn't sure I would have paid this amount had I not had a voucher to use.
That's what I like most about receiving vouchers, I tend to treat myself to things that I may not have bought with my money.
One of the reasons I chose L'Oreal Glam Bronze Mineral Pearls was that I noticed there were different bronzing pearls for blondes and brunettes specifically designed to enhance your colouring. As I have naturally dark hair, I chose L'Oreal Glam Bronze Mineral Pearls - Brunette.
Another factor which influenced my purchasing decision here was that these mineral pearls come with a suitable brush for application. Whilst I do have make-up brushes, I was told by my daughter that these mineral pearls are best applied with a special brush, known as a Kabuki brush. This style of cosmetic brush is soft, yet has dense bristles and a tapered brush head ideal for creating a flawless finish with mineral pearls and foundation.
In the summer months after applying moisturiser, I sweep the brush over the pearls and then over my face and love the slightly bronzed look I achieve. This really does make your skin look naturally sun kissed and you need not worry about looking like you've been tango-ed as the end result is definitely not orange or fake-looking.
In the winter months when I am going out, I tend to use a foundation instead of a bronzer, but for normal day to day wear I mostly stick with my bronzing pearls.
The first couple of times I used this product I had the tendency to apply too much to my face as I thought it wasn't having any effect, but I quickly found it is best to wait a little while after applying as the bronzing effect seems to develop gradually.
I had to have a few tries with the brush to get the hang of application as I also struggled a little at first with getting the bronzer distributed evenly across my face and neck line. I find that light strokes with the brush across the pearls and then sweeping the brush lightly across my face works best to achieve an even streak-free coverage.
I have also been impressed by the staying power of these bronzing pearls. One application on a morning before going to work usually lasts me through the day. In warmer weather however, my skin can sometimes appear shiny and a quick sweep with the brush across my face when this occurs is enough to rectify this.
I really like the natural look using these mineral pearls gives me too. A bronzed glow which looks and feels natural. Indeed the light feel of this on my skin is a big plus.
L'Oreal Glam Bronze Mineral Pearls aren't messy to use either and the product clings to the bristles of the brush so I don't have any of the bronzer falling off the brush prior to application. One of the things I disliked about using a powder bronzer was that I did find it was fairly messy to use, so these pearls are so much better.
I can recommend these mineral pearls and also think they are ideal for those who don't like wearing a foundation but want to enhance their skin with a natural looking glow.
I am naturally very pale but when the summer time comes around, I want to look as close to a bronzed goddess as is humanly possible for someone with my skin colour. While I'll admit that I never actually come that close, there are a variety of products out there that help me to get a step closer. I don't like going out in the sun too much because my skin burns easily so I need bronzing products that compliment pale skin and that don't look too fake.
The Glam Bronze Mineral Bronzing Pearls by L'oreal is a product that is designed to add a touch of colour to your face and which allows you to look sun kissed without making it look like you've been tangoed.
It comes in two different rather stereotypical but natural shades. There is one containing golden particles to enhance the colouring of blondes who have fairer skin and one which contains copper particles to give a bronzed appearance to the brunettes with darker skin. I am a brunette with fair skin so this doesn't really work out! I bought the one for blondes instead which suits my skin perfectly.
What is special about the product?
The product is made out of minerals, hence the name of the product. This means that it is a natural product with no added oils or unnecessary nastiness. It won't block your pores and so allows you skin to breath and it is like adding a second skin rather than plastering your face with artificial and manufactured ingredients.
How do you use the product?
In order to use the product you need to remove the brush so that the pearls are exposed. Then you sweep the brush across the pearls to get a coating of the bronzer onto the brush and then sweep the powder onto the face.
It needs to be applied wherever you would normally catch the sun, which is your forehead, cheeks, nose and chin. It can also be applied all over and built up to increase the layer of coverage. You can also use the product to show off the contours of your face by using it on the cheekbones.
Packaging and Price
The bronzing part of this product comes in the form of tiny circular balls and they are stored in the bottom half of the design. The top half of the product is a chunky bronzing brush which can be unscrewed and removed in order to use on the mineral pearls. There is lid on top to protect the brush. The whole packaging comes in a gorgeous caramel shade which is made out of plastic and there is golden writing on the front.
The product costs around £11 but it will last for an eternity so it will be ages before you will be needing to splash out on another one anytime soon. It can be bought from most department stores, large supermarkets and a variety of online websites so you will find it for cheaper if you have the time or inclination to shop around.
The brush which this product comes with is handy because it is contained within the lid, meaning it can be easily transported and used on the go. It also means you don't need to go on the hunt for a brush when you are rushing around in the mornings. The size of the brush is perfect for me as it is fairly chunky but it may be too large for some people.
Although the bristles are quite soft, I think the bristles are still a little harsh on my skin. I still use my own normal brush to apply the bronzer because it is softer on my sensitive skin.
I was a little bit surprised when I found out that they only have two shades for this product and didn't think that it would be possible to suit everyone within only two colours. However, as the coverage is so light, I think the dusting of colour that you get from the product really would suit most people. Plus you can build up the coverage to meet the needs of your skin.
The colouring of the bronzer is perfect for me, even though I chose to buy the blonde one despite being a brunette. The shade is subtle enough to look natural but can be built up for a more obvious night time look. It gives a really healthy glow to my face that doesn't make you look like you are caked in make up unlike some other bronzers that I have tried.
After sweeping the brush across the pearls, it is a good idea to gently blow the excess powder away because on a few occasions, I did pick up too much powder and the shade that I got was too harsh for colouring. You also need to be careful that you don't accidently pick up any of the pearls in the brush because I have done this before and then they have fallen onto my carpet and clothes.
I apply this product as a final step to my make up so it doesn't really come into direct contact with my skin. It would have to fight its way through my moisturiser, foundation and mattifying powder to do that! Nevertheless, it has never caused any blemishes or irritations on my spot prone and sensitive skin.
The bronzer has good staying powder which makes reapplication unnecessary but you may wish to apply more if you are going from work to meet up with friends, just to make it appear fresher. This means the product will last you for an incredibly long time as it will only be need to used once or twice a day.
I have bought numerous products over the years that are similar to this and this one gives me one of the most natural results. It is a great product that can be used alone to add a touch of colour to the face or with make up to complete your look. It can be worn subtly in the day and built up for night time wear and it can be applied in a variety of ways. All in all, this is a versatile little product that will give you an instant and healthy radiance.
Firstly, I will confess I didn't actually go out and buy this myself. My mother did, spent the £13 and never even opened it. So I decided to try it out for myself.
The first thing I noticed about this product was that it is created for different hair colours. Luckily my mum is brunette like me, so the product suited me. Using the gorgeously soft brush, it gave a light sunkissed look, which was easy to build up depending on the colour you desire. It's multi functional too. Use it as an eyeshadow? Why not! I managed it, after crushing one of those delicious looking bronzer beads. It's used in the same way as a blusher, so be warned - it's either bronzer or blusher, not both!! And this product promises to look after your skin, using it's mineral formula - I've certainly never had any angry breakouts using it! :)
The one thing I was wary about is the price. I mentioned earlier that I didn't pay for it. But would I really be prepared to pay £13 for this product? Maybe. I advise that if you have that sort of budget to spend on cosmetics, go for it, you won't regret it. But if you don't really want to spend alot of money on makeup, there ARE cheaper brands which do the job almost as well.
I have to mention a downside as well. I find the bronzer goes everywhere when you pick it up with the brush, no matter how careful you are - but it's nothing a hoover can't fix!
I've been uhming and ahhing about buying the L'Oreal Glam Bronze Mineral Pearls for weeks, mainly because it costs £13.99 and there was no tester available to test out the shade, and being super pale I was convinced it would look completely unnatural on me. However, I am fairly weak-willed and so I gave into temptation and decided to buy it and take the risk. I haven't been disappointed.
The packaging for this product is really cute. The bronzing pearls are contained at the bottom, while a make-up brush is attached to the screw on lid, and then another lid sits over the top of the brush. To use the product you have to take the lid off the brush, and then swoosh the brush about over the bronzing pearls before applying the colour to your face. However, although the packaging is cute, I was a little disappointed as I had expected the bronzer to come out through the brush without having to unscrew the lid and swoosh it about in the pearls - perhaps I am being too demanding? Nonetheless, it does look nice, and it's practical having a brush attached - but it does mean that it's quite a large product and therefore not something you could carry about in a tiny little evening bag.
The product itself is excellent though. It is a mineral make-up which supposedly is better for your skin and doesn't clog the pores. I don't know if this is true but I can tell you that it certainly doesn't feel as though it clogs my pores, and I have had no spots or break-outs since using the product. In fact it doesn't really feel like you have make-up on.
I was very worried that as this only comes in 2 shades, one for blondes and one for brunettes, it may be too dark or too orangey for my skintone as I am really very pale. However, I needn't have worried. The bronzer produces a really subtle colour which you can build up if you want a darker effect. This means that it will suit even the palest skintone. I also find that it is more of a brown-brown than an orange-brown, if that makes sense, so it doesn't look like you have just applied a foundation several shades too dark for your skin. In addition there seems to be some kind of shimmer to the powder which gives a lovely sunkissed glow!
I am very pleased with this product. I simply sweep a little on wherever I would naturally catch the sun and it gives a very natural effect that instantly perks up my complexion. It is also incredibly long lasting and I don't find that I need to reapply it throughout the day - useful considering it's quite bulky so not something I want to be carrying around with me in a small handbag!
Although this is a rather expensive product, I feel that it will last a very long time as there are heaps of pearls contained in it, and you don't need to reapply throughout the day. It's definitely a product that I will be sticking with from now on!
This is a mineral bronzer from L'Oreal, I bought it as I really liked the L'Oreal minerals powder and I wasn't disappointed.
The bronzer costs about £14 from Boots which is expensive but it is a minerals bronzer which is supposed to be better for your skin and contain less chemicals. The bronzer comes in two shades, one for blondes and one for brunettes. This review is on the shade for blondes.
The bronzer comes in the form of little balls in a plastic tub with a brush that screws on the top. To apply the bronzer you simply swirl the brush in the balls and apply wherever you want.
I was worried that the bronzer would be orange and look silly with my pale complexion but actually its very subtle and I needed a few applications to get the effect I wanted. I prefer this though to having to remove bronzer as its too orange. The bronzer also applies very evenly and gives a really nice golden glow. It lasts for ages as well, I have used some bronzers and by the afternoon you need to reapply, this lasts all day.
I have been using the bronzer for about a month now and it looks brand new, like I haven't used any at all, I think this is because its balls rather than powder, so I think it will last a very long time, making it good value for money.
There is only one thing I don't like about this powder and thats that the balls get stuck in the brush and then pop out on the floor when I apply it on my face!! If you dab rather than swirl they seem to get stuck in the bristles! Thats the only thing I don't like about the product and I think I can live with that!
All in all a highly recommended bronzer that gives an even golden glow, plus its better for your skin! Brilliant!
I am pale. This isn't something that I particularly like but it also not something I can change. Or is it? Well, I was in Boots a few months ago and spotted L'Oreal Glam Bronze Mineral Pearls sitting on the shelf calling out my name. Ok, so maybe it was calling out my name but it might as well have been because this product is exactly what I needed to give my skin a gorgeous glow without plastering my face in fake tan or going on a sun bed.
L'Oreal Glam Bronze Mineral Pearls come in two natural looking shades designed to enhance the colourings of blondes and brunettes.
*About the Product*
L'Oreal Glam Bronze Mineral Pearls bring a touch of sun to your complexion. For blondes or fair skin, the gold particles illuminate your look while the copper particles enhance darker skin tones or brunettes. The gentle way to make you glow.
The application of this bronzer is actually pretty easy. You simply need to unscrew the brush that is attached to the pot of bronzer, get a light dusting of the product onto the end of the brush and sweep it across your cheek bones and perhaps your forehead, chin and neckline if so desire to.
*Price and Availability*
L'Oreal Glam Bronze Mineral Pearls is a product that is widely available to buy. You will find it on the shelves of Boots, Superdrug and perhaps even some Wilkinson's stores. You can also buy it online from www.Boots.com.
This bronzer can be purchased for the fairly reasonable price of £13.99. It does sound a little pricey but it looks great when applied, lasts for an extremely long time and you're worth it after all! Plus there are alternatives that cost a great deal more than this and aren't even as good like the one that I have just run out of which costs a whooping £25, almost double the cost of this!
The packaging: L'Oreal Glam Bronze Minerals Pearls are packaged in a round plastic tub. Attached to this tub is a bronze screw on lid which also happens to hold the brush that you use to apply the bronzer and has L'Oreal Paris embossed onto it. And to secure the brush and keep it clean and ready for the next use is a piece of plastic that simply clips over the brush.
The packaging looks great, stylish and representative of the L'Oreal brand. It is also functional with the brush attached but I don't find it a great product to have in your handbag as the lid protecting the brush always seems to unclip and the residue of bronzer left on the brush gets onto my other belongings. Therefore I recommend this as a product that you keep at home rather than one to travel around in your handbag.
The brush: I love it when products come with an applicator or brush as it means that I don't have to go in search of one (although with my make up brush set from Christmas it doesn't matter now). With this product, you get a fairly respectable, thick brush with relatively soft bristles. I happen to think that the brush has too many bristles for my liking but perhaps this is because I have got used to using a smaller one. It is easy to hold as you can just grip the plastic lid and sweep away with the brush. And you get zero streaks when using it which is a complete must as no-one wants to look like a tiger.
Colour and texture: I was doubtful about getting the Brunette colour as I have very pale skin but I needn't have worried because it blends perfectly and doesn't look dark at all. I just look like I have a nice glow, just like the product claims! The colour is quite rich and there is an ever so slight shimmer to the colour. To intensify the colour, you simply need to sweep the brush over your cheeks, repeating the application a second time.
The texture of this bronzer isn't actually that thick and it is great for your skin as it is similar to the bare minerals products that you can buy. It will give you an unblemished finish that doesn't block or clog up your pores therefore it isn't bad for your skin and contributes to spots.
Staying power: I have been pretty impressed by the staying power of this bronzer. I have used a lot of L'Oreal products some excellent and some that really should never have made it to the shelves so I wasn't sure where this one would sit. And I judge how good a product is partly on its endurance on your skin. After all, who wants to buy something that you will constantly be reapplying. Not me, that's for sure. I wouldn't say that this bronzer lasted all day but it lasted a good 8-10 hours which covers my working day.
Range of colours: There are two colours available for this product and although this is a great choice I can understand why as it is a bronzer. One is called Blonde and is suitable for blondes or those who have fair skin and the other is called Brunette and is for brunettes or those who have darker skin tones. I actually think that it's pretty good that they don't have a wide range of different colours as it makes colour selection easy and you won't make the mistake of buying one that isn't suitable for your skin tone.
Longevity of the product: I have had this bronzer for a few months now and I use it on a regular basis as my Estée Lauder Bronze Goddess Soft Shimmer Bronzer has finally run out. There are still numerous pearls that are whole therefore I think that the bronzer will last me another 4 or so months. Not bad, I think you'll agree.
Does this product bring a touch of sun to your complexion? Yes it does. When I wear this I don't feel pale and as though I look like a ghost. Instead I feel like my skin has a sun-kissed look to it.
Is it the gentle way to make you glow? Yes it is. L'Oreal Glam Bronze Mineral Pearls leaves you with a glimmering glow and looking like you have just got back from a to week holiday in the Caribbean. And you don't need to spend hours applying fake tan to get this look either. Just a sweep on each cheek of this bronzer and you're skin is immediately transformed.
*Would I Recommend This Product?*
I would unquestionably recommend this excellent bronzing product. It is safe to use and you get a really great glow without creating mess (like with fake tan). If you can't afford to buy products like Estée Lauder Bronze Goddess Soft Shimmer Bronzer then I would suggest trying this one. It is a bronzer that is really great value for money and although it isn't the very best on the market, it does the job and it does it well.
On the whole, L'Oreal Glam Bronze is a great bronzer that works well to give you a glow so that you don't need to visit the sun beds or reach for the fake tan. It also looks natural for those of you who don't want to appear bright orange on your cheeks (it isn't a good look).
I have had this for months and months and even though i use it regularly i still have quite a bit left. Its a bronzer that is meant to have the same effects that mineral make up does, in that you get a flawless finish that wont block your pores and is better for your skin. It only comes in two shades, one for brunettes and one for blondes. I'm brunette and when i first saw the two colours next to each other i was a bit wary of getting the brunette one because it looked so dark. I shouldnt have worried though as is not very dark when its on.
It comes in a really cute and compact little case that has bronzing pearls in the bottom part with a screw on lid that has a brush attached and then another lid on top to protect the brush. I ended up getting this because one of my friends had the Loreal mineral foundation that has the same kind of packaging and her skin looked gorgeous when she had it on so i thought this minerals craze was worth a try.
Although it looks really small, the bronzing pearls seem to last a lot longer than a powder compact does and it means that you dont end up with too much excess powder on your face. I found that on applying it once on my face it didnt make much difference and i had to put it on a few times to start to see the colour. Its such a nice natural colour when its on, not at all orange looking so even if you do put on a bit too much you wont look like an oompa lumpa.
The little brush fits perfect into the bit where the bronzing pearls are, you just have to be careful that you dont get too excited and send the pearls going everywhere. Because the brush is small though you have to put on in really small circular motions that sometimes takes too long. Its good if you cant fit a big powder brush in your bag but its just a bit too small for me and is too time consuming if your in a rush. I got it from Boots for £13.99 which is more than i had wanted to pay for a bronzer but its good quality and even when i apply it first thing in the morning i dont usually have to apply it again till hours later which isnt usually the case with cheaper brands.
The only downside i have with it though is its not that great for the summer time when you have a tan. It gives a nice sutle glow during the winter when you are really pale but when i had a bit of colour in the summer and on holiday it made my face look a bit paler than the rest of my body.
As it's a week exactly until my birthday, or more commonly known as Christmas Day, and after opening my presents early, and one of my friends brought me L'Oreal's Glam Bronze Mineral Pearls in the Blonde shade, but they also come in a Brunette shade for women with darker skin. And the product claims to "enhance the colouring of blondes and brunettes" and claims to be "the gentle way to make skin glow".
The product is different shades of bronze pearls, and a bronzing brush included,, as you can see in the picture above. To apply you use the brush to get a light dusting of bronzer on the brush, and apply where desired. The shades of bronzer are golden shades for blondes, and copper shades for brunettes, and the two colours are designed to bring out the colours of the skin and hair colour.
Using the brush, I thought allowed me to get a decent amount of bronzer on my skin, but I personally prefer using a sponge when applying bronzer, as it makes me feel I have control and allows me to use it much more freely, but the brush is pretty decent and doesn't cause any streakiness when applying, which I have noticed other brushes have done before.
The colours of the Blonde shade were really complimentary to my skin tone, as to begin with I had doubts about the shade, because the pearls looked much darker then I wanted, as I have very fair skin, I thought I'd look orange or really badly tanned, but actually when applied on to my skin, it was perfect, and gave me a simple, clean glow, and wasn't at all heavy for my skin.
I would defiantly recommend L'Oreal Paris' Glam Bronze Mineral Pearls to any women, it is a really amazing Bronzer, which provides skin with an even and clean glow, without making skin really badly tanned look, and it really suits skin colours, and even works for fairly pale skin women, like myself.
L'Oreal Paris's Glam Bronze Mineral Pearls are available at most pharmacies and some supermarkets, and costs around £13 to £15, which is a very decent price for how good the Bronzer is.
