INTRODUCTION --------------------- My daughter likes to choose her own shampoo when we are out shopping. She has never really liked having her hair washed and now at three years old, if she chooses her own shampoo and tries to wash her hair herself it is much easier on both of us! She usually chooses one in the L'Oreal Kids range and this was her latest choice. L'Oreal Kids shampoo is a range of children's shampoo available to buy. They have lots of different scents available including apple, watermelon and mango. Today I am reviewing the Cheeky Cherry and Almond one. THE PACKAGING ---------------------- This shampoo comes in a bottle very typical of L'oreal Kids shampoos. They are all brightly coloured with a different coloured cap and with a little picture of an eye on the top. This cheeky cherry one is red with an orange cap and eye. The packaging is very appealing to children and I think it looks fun. It states on the shampoo bottle that it is a 'tear free formula' so even if it gets in your child's eyes it shouldn't sting or hurt too bad. Although it is always recommended that you keep it away from eyes and rinse thoroughly if contact is made. I am always very careful to keep it away from my children's eyes. USING THE SHAMPOO ---------------------------- The shampoo is clear and pours out easily. It is not really thick, nor is it too runny. Once rubbed in the hair it starts to lather up immediately. You don't need to use a lot as it creates a lot of bubbles so a little goes quite a long way. Once all the hair is covered, it rinses out easily and doesn't stick or cling to the hair. My kids hair is left looking immediately clean and shiny. My daughter has quite long hair and after using this shampoo her hair is always tangle free. On the bottle it states that this is a 2 in 1 shampoo and it claims 'No Knots'. I can say this definitely works. THE SCENT ---------------- It is quite strong smelling and once the shampoo open, the smell hits you right away. The scent is just what it's supposed to be and is a perfect mix of cherry and almond. It is strong and sweet but without being over powering. After my children have used the shampoo and are out of the bath and dried, I can still smell this on them. In fact the scent lasts in their hair for quite a while. PRICE AND AVAILABILITY ------------------------------------ This Cheeky Cherry Almond shampoo is available from most supermarkets and drug stores (superdrug % boots) as is the rest of the L'oreal Kids range. It's usual price is £1.99 a bottle but it is often on offer for £1. This is for a 250ml bottle of shampoo. CONCLUSION ------------------ Both my children and I really like this shampoo, it cleans their hair nicely and leaves them smelling lovely! It's not a bad price, especially when it's on offer so I would probably suggest getting a couple while it's on offer. Also as you don't need to use a lot each time it lasts for quite a while. Would definitely recommend! 5 / 5 from me! Thank you for reading my review, I hope it was useful xx Mrs K xx
When we were going camping in the summer holidays I wanted to bring a shampoo that both my daughter and I could both use to cut down on luggage. At the time Tesco were having a buy one get one free offer on these L'oreal kids shampoos. This shampoo which is predominantly designed for kids usually costs around £2 in Tesco, however I recently picked another bottle of this shampoo up in Poundland so it is worth shopping around. I love cherries but to be honest I hate the artificial smell of cherry items, and this shampoo is no exception. I say shampoo, but it is actually a 2 in 1 shampoo/conditioner and actually offers extra conditioning. I like the fact that it is a tear free shampoo which is why I knew it would be suitable to take for my two year old daughter. This is actually a cheeky cherry almond shampoo and it is possible to catch the almond scent as well, another that I am not overly fussed on. The scent is pretty strong, but my daughter doesn't seem to mind it at all. We were able to both use this on our holiday and it didn't sting either of our eyes, but the most positive feature of this shampoo and the reason I keep buying it, is that it leaves my hair super soft, super clean and super shiny. There really is a very noticeable difference on the days that I use this shampoo on my hair in comparison to other shampoos I may have on the go. I don't like to use the same shampoo every day so have a rotational system but I love the days I use this as my hair looks and feels in such great condition. The extra conditioning element to this shampoo is included to help ensure hair is left knot free. Now, I would concur with this and have found my daughters hair to be tangle and knot free after using this shampoo. My own hair doesn't tend to get tangled so I don't have to worry about this. As I said the reason I continue to buy this shampoo is not really for my daughter as I actually find the Simple baby shampoo best as other shampoos can dry out her scalp and cause flakiness but I still use this shampoo on her occasionally. However, I really buy this shampoo for me as it is a super shampoo for the price and for the condition that it leaves the hair. I will continue to purchase it - so don't be put up because it is aimed at kids, its for adults too!
Hair washing has always been a bit of a problem in our house. My daughter has long hair, which becomes tangled quite easily, and she hates 'hair washing nights' even though I try to be really careful and use gentle shampoos and plenty of conditioner. My daughter loves the L'Oreal Kids range of shampoos as she adores the oddly shaped bottles, with eye catching bold colours (and the fact that they are all designed to look like a fish, helps). The Cheeky Cherry shampoo is one of my daughter's favourites. I love this shampoo too actually as the smell is just gorgeous. I have used it on my own hair lots of times and as it's a two in one formula, it means I can save time and hassle as I don't have to use a separate conditioner on her hair after I have washed it. This shampoo is quite thick in consistency and you can smell the lovely cherry aroma just as soon as you squirt it out onto the palm of your hand. It lathers like a dream and to be honest, the first time I used this shampoo, I was amazed at how little I actually need to use in order to create some pretty impressive bubbles and lather. It rinses off easily and for hours afterwards I can smell cherries in Sarah's hair, once it's been dried off. The product does work very well as a two in one formulation. I do personally find that with many of these two in one hair care products, they can be a little hit or miss when it comes to the effectiveness of the conditioner. Cheeky Cherry works a treat both in terms of cleaning my daughter's hair and making it look and feel glossy and without any tangles. It also has a 'no more tears formulation' which I hadn't actually realised until I had been using this a few times. Another good reason to buy it! It only costs £1.99 for a bottle which contains 250ml and it's a product which is very widely available. Overall, we both love this shampoo and I have used tons of bottles and I totally recommend it. Its brilliant !
My daughter, being almost three years old, is past the Johnsons baby shampoo stage. We are currently experimenting with lots of different child friendly shampoo's and conditioners to see which ones suit us best. One shampoo we have tried recently is this Cheeky Cherry one from L'Oreal. The packaging for this shampoo is the same as all other L'Oreal kids hair care products. The quirky shaped bottle does look a little weird but on closer inspection you'll find it's actually designed to look like a fish, with eye and fin detailing, my daughter loves this element of the packaging. The colours are bold and exciting and definitely grab her attention. This shampoo actually has a 2 in 1 formula so whilst it is described as just shampoo, it actually conditions hair too, bonus. My daughter has really short hair for her age as she pulls it out, but still, I like her hair to be well conditioned even though it is so short so the 2 in 1 formula really does save time when it comes to washing her hair. The product is a little difficult to get out of the bottle for the first couple of uses, this is because the cap on the top of the bottle is quite stiff, it can't be done one handed which can be a little annoying. After the cap loosens up, it is easy to get the product from the bottle as the hole inside the cap is of a nice size. Once the shampoo has been dispensed, I only use a small 10p piece size blob, it lathers up amazingly well, the amount of bubbles is quite a lot for a childs shampoo. It's good to note that this shampoo carries a no more tears formulation so that it is kind to eyes should a little make its way in the eye, but we've never experienced this. The smell of the shampoo is exactly what you would imagine from the name of the product. The cherry scent is rich and luxurious but sweet and scrumptious at the same time. This smell lingers in the bathroom after washing my daughters hair even though we use bubble bath too. After rinsing and towel drying her hair, the shampoo left a subtle hint of the cherry smell until bedtime. It was also left looking good and feeling soft and clean. This shampoo is widely available from places that sell L'Oreal kids hair care, including supermarkets, for around the £2 mark. I'd definitely recommend it as it smells divine and leaves my daughters hair soft and in good condition. The no more tears formulation is perfect for children and the bottle really grabs their attention.
Loreal kids shampoo was what my parents used on me when I was a baby and growing up! When ever I smell these shampoo's they always take me back to being a child and I love the smell. Cheeky cherry has to be my favourite one, the smell of cherry is beautiful and is strong! I also really like the design of the bottle. My young nephew uses this, and when He comes over to stay we always make sure we have a bottle! His favourite is also the cherry smell. I recently used some of this on me when I was in the bath and I am suprised at how well it cleaned my hair, it was very soft afterwards and smelt great! I will now go into a little more detail on the product :) Price: A bottle of this will set you back £2! Sometimes supermarkets such as tesco will do it for half price of buy one get one free. I believe it is worth its price tag because it is a great shampoo for your children. Once you use it on them once, they will be asking for it again! so stock up your cupboards if you see it on offer! The bottle: The bottle is really childish (which makes it better!) its curvy shaped with a large eye on the bottle, the reason for this is that it adds character to the bottle to make children like it, but it also indicates that it wont hurt there eyes if you get any into them. the bottles are small and contain a small amount of shampoo. The bottle is easy to use as well, the cap flicks up easily and the bottle is easy to squeeze. the only problems I have found with the bottle is that when you have nearly finished with the shampoo, they are hard to turn and leave upside down to get the shampoo to the end. Does it work?: It leaves Kids hair feeling very soft and smelling nice. The hair will stay cleaner throughout the day, as I said before the shampoo does not hurt eyes so no one will be crying! the bottle lasts a while as you only need a small amount. The shampoo lathers up nicely. When I have kids I will be using this on them as I know how goof it is. Im not ashamed to use this occasionally at home :) Overall: It is good value and your children will really enjoy using it untill they are quite old, I only stopped using this when I was about 12. Most kids in the family use this because I believe its the best childrens shampoo on the market :) I will be giving this product 5 stars because it is truly a brilliant shampoo! Thanks for reading, hope my review helped. Josh
When shopping with my four year old recently she pointed out the L'Oreal Kids range on the end of an aisle as she wanted the pink shampoo, since they were all on offer at £1 a bottle instead of the usual £2 a bottle I decided to get a few to try for her and this was one of them. Each bottle contains 250ml of product which I think is a bargain for £1 a bottle with a well-known make like L'Oreal. The bottle is red in colour with an orange flip top lid and orange and yellow detailing on the front, the bottle is curved slightly on one side and then curved more abruptly on the other side making the bottle quite attractive especially when on the shelve with all the other colours. On the front of the bottle there is a circle shape which looks like an eye which all the range have and then the name of the brand and the name of the product, sitting just underneath are 6 semi circles all overlapping in orange fading to yellow which look to me like scales on a fish. The shampoo is actually 2 in 1 which is an added bonus as it saves paying out for a separate conditioner and it states that this is no tears, no knots and extra conditioning which my daughter does need as her hair is so long and knots easily. On the rear of the bottle you find that this product has been created under ophthalmologist control, an ophthalmologist works with the eyes so I am guessing that this is to make sure the product doesn't sting the childs eyes. On opening the bottle you are hit by a lovely fruity smell which I personally believe does smell of cherries and isn't sickly like the strawberry one is, the shampoo has a pearly look to it and is not too thin and not too thick making it easy to use and making it easy to lather it up. To use it is obviously really, wet the hair, lather and then rinse, the product rinses out really easily and doesn't leave any residue. My daughters hair is lovely and soft when this has been used and I would say that we don't have to use the tangle tamer quite as much with this shampoo as with the strawberry version so do believe it does have extra conditioning properties. I would have to say this is the best of the range we have tried and we have tried the four that were available on the shelf at the time so would say we are able to select the best. My daughters hair smells gorgeous after using this and the smell stays for a day or so too, the morning after using this we don't need tangle tamer so that's one less day than with the others in the range and her hair looks shiny and is soft to the touch. The shampoo has run down my daughters face as she is not good at holding her head back and she doesn't complain at all so it obviously doesn't sting at all, highly recommended.
When my children are babies I tend to use Johnsons toiletries due to the tried-and-tested 'no tears' formulation, but as they grown beyond babyhood I don't feel the baby shampoo (in particular) really has the strength to properly clean their hair. Hollie was quite forward and began feeding herself well before her first birthday, leading to clumps of baby food and god knows what else being deposited in her fine but long hair - while the Johnsons shampoo would remove all the 'bits', I was finding more and more that it was not leaving her hair as clean as it did before the 'added grub' days. I used the Avon range of kids shampoo and was really impressed with those, but the problem with Avon is that once you've run out you've got to either place an online order or wait for the Avon lady to pop a book through the door - not ideal when it comes to children's products as you just never know when you're going to need something quickly. I'd heard of the L'Oreal Kids range before but they'd slipped my mind as my older girls' were by then out of specialised kids shampoo and would use whatever was in the bathroom, I came across this Cheeky Cherry 2-in-1 shampoo in Boots and was bowled over by the gorgeous aroma so bought it - and it's been a regular product in my bathroom ever since. The shampoo lathers up beautifully, you get a lot of bubbles from a very small amount and the lather is much thicker and creamier than I thought it would be considering this is a product for young children. The bubbles do slip down Hollie's face and get near her eyes, but L'Oreal have made this shampoo so kind and gentle that it doesn't sting if a small amount actually gets into her eyes. Admittedly, the formulation isn't as 'no tears' as Johnsons and if a larger pile of bubbles is heading south down your child's forehead I'd definitely recommend brushing them off before they reach the eyes as I've found the shampoo does cause Hollie's eyes to go red and watery even if it doesn't actually sting as such. This shampoo cleans Hollie's hair amazingly well. She's not a grubby child and I bath her and wash her hair at least every two days, her hair doesn't get specifically dirty but now she's at school I've noticed she tends to come home with paint, chalk and all sorts of unidentified crud deposited in her hair - this shampoo has dealt with just about everything thrown at it. Including last week when Hollie decided to scratch her head while her hands were covered in wallpaper paste from a paper mache session. Importantly for a shampoo developed for very young children, this rinses extremely easily and leaves absolutely no residue to dull her hair after washing. As this is a 2-in-1 product you don't need to use a separate conditioner, I've used this shampoo on myself when I ran out the other day and although the conditioning properties aren't enough for my adult (and highly processed) hair it's just perfect for a young child as it helps to disentangle the hair ready for brushing and also adds a slight sheen. Obviously, it's impossible to say whether it's the shampoo element or the conditioner which provides this shine but the conditioning aspect is a definite godsend as far as removing the tangles goes - Hollie being a typical screamer when it comes to me brushing her hair and making it presentable for school! The fragrance of this shampoo is absolutely gorgeous, if they could come up with an adult shampoo that smelled the same I'd be a regular buyer. It's richly cherry and so sweet, the scent lingering on Hollie's hair for hours after I've washed her hair and I love burying my nose in her hair when I'm giving her a 'goodnight' cuddle, funnily enough though Mark doesn't like the smell of it - which is understandable in a way as he dislikes fruity fragrances, although this is such a pretty smell that I can't work out exactly what it is about it that he doesn't like! A 250ml bottle of Cheeky Cherry shampoo will cost around £3, this might seem expensive considering the various promotions on the Avon Kids range but a bottle honestly lasts for an awfully long time. As I've mentioned, it's not much good for adult hair so Hollie is the only one in the house who uses it and considering the very small amount needed for each wash I can usually get at least a month out of a single bottle - not having to buy a separate conditioner saves a few pennies too, although to be honest at four years old (and with very fine hair) I doubt I'd bother with conditioner for Hollie too often anyway.
To be honest even though my son is now six we often still use Johnson's baby shampoo on his hair because the formula is mild, it smells lovely and his hair is only short anyway! However, a few months ago whilst I was buying some toiletries and things in boots my son spotted the l'oreal cheeky cherry shampoo and decided that he wanted some "proper kids shampoo" and so I bought it for him to try. The shampoo comes packaged in a bright red container which is slightly curved and has an orange coloured cap. It also has an eye on the front and everything from the shape of the writing to the colours used means that it will grab attention whilst on the shelf! The l'oreal cheeky cherry shampoo is a two in one formula meaning that it will also help to keep your child's hair nicely conditioned which I guess is more of a bonus if you have a little girl with lots of hair! My son's hair is short and is in good condition without requiring extra conditioner but it was still a bonus all the same. What stood out to my son was that the shampoo claims to be gentle on the eyes and causes no tears! At one point he really hated any water getting on his face never mind in his eyes so a kind formula is a bonus to him. Flipping up the lid of the shampoo was quite tricky at first as it felt pretty stiff but once opened there was a nice sized hole in which the shampoo could be squeezed out of. I used a very small amount on my son's hair because as I have said it is very short but I noticed as I rubbed it in to his hair that the sweet cherry scent was gorgeous! The shampoo lathered well on his wet hair and also rinsed out well too. After we towel tried my son's hair and got him in to his pyjamas we went downstairs like we often do and were snuggling on the sofa and I noticed that the lovely scent had really lingered on his hair which I loved. My son really liked using this shampoo...so much so that one night whilst I was putting away some washing and he was in the bath he decided to use the whole bottle of shampoo in the bath as a bath foam, body wash and god knows what else! Needless to say the bathroom and Joe smelt lovely but I wasn't particularly impressed that less than a week after buying the shampoo it had all gone! Despite this I will buy the shampoo again because it made my son's hair feel soft, smell lovely and he felt somewhat more grown up not using the baby shampoo. You can buy this shampoo from most supermarkets and places such as boots or superdrug where it will cost you around £1.89. This isn't a cheap option but it isn't particularly expensive either when you consider it should last quite a long time. It is a high quality shampoo from a brand I have used on my own hair on the past and so it is one I would recommend. Thank you for reading my review!
My daughter is six years old now and has became much more aware of what I buy for her and often says "that's for baby's mum"! My daughter decided to create a scene in our local supermarket a few months ago in the beauty isle. I was trying to buy her usual johnstons baby shampoo until she erupted as told me it was for baby's not big girls like her. This is not usual behaviour for her so I decided to let her pick her own shampoo as she likes being involved in decision making. She came back with the Loreal for Kids shampoo and also the conditioner. It was on offer for £1.50 per bottle in asda and usual retails around £2.50 a bottle. Its widely available on the high street and good chemists and supermarkets for around the same price tag. My daughter was drawn to this quirky shampoo bottle, it bright red in colour with a yellow/orange lid. The bottle has been designed to look like a fish. It has a curved shape and has a picture of a eye and scales given the elusion of a fish. It has labels and product information on the front and back of the bottle. My daughter loves bath time as she gathers lots of her barbies as they get bathed along with her, my daughter hates any water in her eyes let alone shampoo or their will be a riot in the bathroom. I was happy to notice the no tears formula on the product information and it also has a cherry scent to it as well. That evening my daughter got organised for her bath, in went the poor barbies followed by her. She allowed me to wet her hair while she held a face cloth over her eyes to stop any water going in her eyes (as if it would cause her any harm if a drop of water touched her eyes). I asked my daughter to open her shampoo bottle which she managed without much effort, I asked her to squirt a blob into my hand and she managed to do this (she likes to be independent and help out). I massaged it gently into her hair and scalp, I instantly noticed how well it lathered into foamy bubbles and the yummy cherry scent that filled my bathroom. My daughter also commented on the yummy cherry scent saying it smelt good enough to eat. I rinsed my daughters hair of and used the accompanied hair conditioner it also smelt like cherry's and was very soft and kind to my daughters hair. I towel dried my daughters hair and then brushed her hair, her hair was very manageable and a lot less tangled and took less time and effort to brush which was a added bonus. I could still smell the cherry scent in her hair 2 days later and her hair was soft and shiny. My daughter made a point in telling me and her father not to use it as its only for girls not adults. I was happy it was easy enough to open even by a child and pours the shampoo in a controlled not wasteful , the lid has been very well designed and encourages my daughter to be more independent. It also had lovely results on her hair and was kind to her scalp as well. It sits proudly on our bath caddy and my daughter is enjoying her baths more and no longer minds if water of soap bubbles accidental land on her face as the no tears formula is so gentle to kids and truly works. The cherry scent lingers around my bathroom for hours after washing her hair but its a lovely sweet smell that I like but makes me crave a bake well tart.
I buy this mainly for myself. I go swimming 5 days a week and I like to use something that will shampoo and condition my hair and smells really good. I also take my 7 month old daughter swimming with me too and I leave it in my bag as I know that it is safe for her to use it too. A bottle of this shampoo contains 250ml and currently costs £2 in Asda. The bottle is designed to be shaped like a fish it has an eye on the front and some fins printed on the front of the bottle. The plastic of the bottle is soft and squishy to make it easy to handle when wet. The shampoo is described as being a 2 in 1. It is designed to eliminate knots and leave hair feeling soft, shiny and managable. It is also tear free and designed to be extra gentle for kids hair and scalp. To use the shampoo you simply apply a small amount and massage through your hair, it is then recommeded that you leave the shampoo for 1-2 minutes to get to work and then rinse thoroughly. The shampoo smells really nice. It is predominantly cherry but it also contains almond which you can also subtly smell. The smell reminds me of the cherry drop sweets I used to eat as a child. You only need a small amount to get a really good lather. I have really thick hair and other 2 in 1 products I have tried leave my hair tangled and still in need of a condition. However after using this I can brush my hair with ease and it is also very managable and shiny. The smell also lingers and I can often smell it throughout the day. This is also really good for my daughters hair, she has a lot of hair for a 7 month old and normal baby shampoos don't untangle the back of her hair which gets knotty from her tossing and turning in her cot at night. After using this her hair is easy to comb, as she is so small I don't like to spend too long getting the knots out as she doesn't like having her hair combed too much. This also prevents her hair from getting too knotty and is much more effective than just an ordinary shampoo. I love this shampoo and would recommend it and not just for kids! 5 out of 5 from me!
When washing my daughters hair, I nearly always use Johnsons Baby Shampoo, mainly as I love the smell, but also as it doesn't sting her eyes which is something that I always worried about. However, on a recent trip to the hairdressers she advised me to try a different shampoo on my daughters hair as she has very very long hair so she suggested L'oreal kids shampoo that will help prevent knotting due to the fact she is very headsore and hates having her hair brushed. I had a look around at the different options available and I was torn between the tropical mango and cherry so I decided to go for the Cheeky Cherry shampoo as it just smelt so delicious! The bottle really stands out from the supermarket shelves and is obviously aimed at children with the shape (it kind of looks like it should be a fish with a bright eye on the side) and the striking red colour. The lid is a bright orange and looks a bit like a nose! L'Oreal claim that the shampoo is so gentle it is tear free! Also, the conditioning 2-in-1 formula will help to eliminate knots, leaving hair soft, smooth and extra shiny. This is something that is very important to me as like I say my daughters hair is so long it has a lovely shine to it. When using this shampoo you really only need a very small amount as it lathers up brilliantly well. The smell that comes off this shampoo is just lovely, it is a lovely sweet cherry smell with a hint of what I can only describe as marzipan (it is lovely honest!!) and it lasts well on the hair after washing too! Regardless of how many times I ask my daughter to tip her head back for me to rinse the shampoo out she will simply not do it so immediately we discovered the no tears claim was true! While she did freak out that the shampoo and water was all over her face, after calming down she did tell me that it didn't hurt her eyes at all so I was very pleased as I am a little wary of trying new things. Brushing her hair did seem a little easier after using this shampoo, which L'Oreal do claim it will eliminate knots - however it was still a little knotty but I would say it was somewhat better than when using other shampoo's. Once my daughters hair had dried it looked shinier than ever, and we even had a couple of compliments when out shopping how nice her hair looked!! The Cheeky Cherry shampoo cost me £2.00 (if I remember rightly) and I would be more than happy to pay this again as it is a really lovely shampoo that gives great results every time, though I still like to use Johnsons Baby Shampoo regularly too! I would recommend this shampoo happily, and my daughter gives it the thumbs up too!! Thank you for reading my review :)
~Sweet Cherry Almond Shampoo~ ************************** Of all the L'Oreal for Kids shampoos the one that seems to be everyones favorite is the Cheeky Cherry Shampoo. I really like it too as it not only smells lovely with its sweetly scented cherry blossom and almond fragrance it actually leaves my hair feeling super soft and clean with very little effort. The L'Oreal Kids Cheeky Cherry Shampoo comes in a fun shaped plastic container that is easy to use and I find that the benefit of the tear free formula means that it doesn't sting your eyes or those of your children. The L'Oreal Kids Cheeky Cherry Shampoo is one that has always been very popular when I have bought it and I find that if you have a shampoo product that children don't mind using it is much easier to get them to play ball and have their hair washed. With the L'Oreal Kids Cheeky Cherry Shampoo what you are really getting is a simple to use 2 in 1 type hair product that not only washes your hair but adds shine and conditions at the same time. I feel that the fact that the L'Oreal Kids Cheeky Cherry Shampoo combines these 2 elements together makes for less faffing about trying to persuade little ones that they need to have a 2nd product on their hair. ~Sweet as Cherry Pie~ ***************** The scent of the L'Oreal Kids Cheeky Cherry Shampoo is really nice with it having a softly fruity floral back ground and an inviting almond tone that is almost edible as it smells so good. The texture of the L'Oreal Kids Cheeky Cherry Shampoo is good as it is thicker than many kids shampoos although it isn't so thick that you can't rub it into the hair and lather it up to distribute it all over where needed. The shampoo makes a lovely soft and foamy tear free lather which takes no time at all to work up and you really don't need too much of the product at all. The only trouble with using L'Oreal Kids Cheeky Cherry Shampoo is that I really like it too and although it is purchased as a family shampoo I often find myself having a cheeky hair wash or two with it (well it is called cheeky cherry!). I find that the shampoo is one of the very few 2 in 1 products that I can use on my own hair with any degree of success as it just leaves my hair soft and shiny rather than over conditioned and claggy (which is the effect most 2 in 1 s seem to give). ~Cheap as Cherry flavoured Chips!~ *************************** Last time I bought a bottle of the L'Oreal Kids Cheeky Cherry Shampoo it was on sale for just 99p, so I snapped up a few of the other flavours in the range at the same time as they are usually closer to £2 each to buy. Of all the varieties in the kids range I feel the L'Oreal Kids Cheeky Cherry Shampoo is the favorite one as it not only washes and cleans well leaving hair shiny and tangle free, it also smells divine and leaves softly scented hints of cherry and almond on your hair even when its dried. The tangle free formula works nicely and minimizes the amount of combing though needed and the no tears aspect works really well. The angled and shaped bottle that the L'Oreal Kids Cheeky Cherry Shampoo comes in has a fun design to it that looks like it has a little eye on the side, giving the impression that the bottle may be a little fish or sea creature rather than the simple shampoo bottle that it is. This makes it very attractive to children who seem to interpret the bottle as being a friendly little creature which creates lots of fun bubbles that don't cause any tears, whilst cleaning their hair. I feel that the bottle is both child friendly due to its appearance and adult friendly as it has an easy to open lid and a simple shape that stands well and can be picked up with ease. ~Rating~ ******* With the L'Oreal Kids Cheeky Cherry Shampoo having a generous amount of product in it for the price I feel it offers good value for money. My rating for the shampoo is a full 5 stars as this really is a product that kids don't mind using as they know that it won't make their eyes sting and it leaves their hair tangle free meaning it doesn't need too much combing through. The L'Oreal Kids Cheeky Cherry Shampoo is also just as nice for adults to use too, as it leaves hair nice and clean with a soft cherry almond scent.
I always used Johnson's Baby Shampoo on my sons' hair, well beyond babyhood, as I love the smell and the reassurance that it won't sting their eyes - regardless of how much they might scream blue murder! Once my oldest son could read, though, he wasn't too impressed that his shampoo started with 'b-a-b-y' so I looked around for alternatives for older children that would still provided the same benefits. The L'Oreal Kids' range of hair products stood out because of their bright, quirky shaped bottles and, crucially, the promise that their range is 'no more tears' and won't sting a child's eyes. It's only very recently that my boys have finally grown out of their hatred of having their hair washed and I really don't want a bad experience to put us back to square one! When I first tried this particular shampoo, the 'Cheeky Cherry' variety, the boys were still at the stage of crying and making a fuss about hair washing but the novelty of a new product and the lovely cherry aroma did help to distract them a little and now, at the ages of three and eight, they will co-operate with the whole process. My eight year old will even ask to wash his own hair with this shampoo, at times. The bottle is a nice size and shape for a child to hold themselves as they become increasingly independent. The lid is easy to open and close and doesn't leak or squirt shampoo everywhere - not unless done intentionally! The bottle itself is quite soft and easy to squeeze, helping to regulate just how much comes out with a single squirt. The shampoo is pretty economical to use as a little tiny amount lathers up well and produces pleasing results. Both of my boys have short hair which is trimmed regularly so they really don't use much per wash at all so a bottle of this stuff lasts for months. (Obviously, girls with longer hair would get through this much quicker.) This particular variety also includes conditioning agents and is supposed to avoid the need for a separate conditioner. This is a great idea if you normally have to use two products - particularly if your kids don't like having their hair washed. Instantly, you have halved the trauma by using this! I've never needed to use a separate conditioner on the boys' hair, despite it being quite thick, but I do find this leaves their hair feeling and looking soft and healthy. My three year old's hair always goes really cute and fluffy immediately after being washed! Thankfully, this shampoo also lives up to its 'no sting' claims. Neither of my boys particularly enjoy having shampoo suds on their face, especially in their eyes, even now but on the odd occasion that they aren't leaning back enough, the tears are simply a result of the water and suds. I once mistakenly used a different, cheaper brand of, supposedly, kids' shampoo which hadn't claimed to be 'no more tears' and the resulting screams of agony could be heard for miles! With this range, the worst we get is a whimper! The other really appealing aspect of this for both me and my sons is the smell. It really is a lovely kind of fruity cherry fragrance mixed with the marzipan scent of almonds. The smell lingers in the bathroom for a while after use and on my sons' hair making it lovely to kiss them goodnight with soft, freshly washed hair. The shampoo itself is widely available and reasonably priced. A 250ml bottle usually costs around the £2 mark from most supermarkets although I tend to find it cheaper from Home Bargains. Each bottle lasts for several months in our household so it's an inexpensive product that is simple and enjoyable to use. I'd certainly recommend it to any parent looking to move from baby shampoo on to a fun product for older kids, that still has the reassurance of not stinging delicate eyes.
My daughter has been washing her own hair for some time now, but my son (who doesn't normally like showers very much), has decided that if Kaitlin can do it, so can he....I know, sibling rivalry is rife in my house! This being the case the first time he tried to shower and wash his hair, he of course got shampoo in his eye, and spent the next half an hour crying because it stung. I decided to get some Johnsons baby shampoo for him so he could at east keep his independence, but after going to buy it I noticed this product instead, and after giving it a quick sniff, I knew this was the one! The shampoo I will now review is - "L'oreal kids - cheeky cherry almond shampoo". The bottle itself is obviously aimed at the youngsters, with it being bright red with an orange flip lid. I obviously wanted a no tears sort of shampoo, which this is, but it is also a 2-1 shampoo with a conditioner, which is ideal for my daughter as she needs a conditioner due to straightening her hair so much! The bottle is again designed with the child in mind for the use, it is smaller in size though it still contains 250ml of product and the bottle is much softer than other bottles we have had, ideal for a child to squeeze and shampoo themselves. To use you really do only need a small blob. Once applied onto wet hair and rubbed in the bubbles are full and plentiful, but by far the best thing is the smell, which is strong, sweet and lingers on the hair when rinsed off. My son (no matter how many times I tell him!) does not "get" what I mean by, "put your head back, and the water can't run back onto the face", as soon as he came to wash the bubbles off he just dunked his head under the shower head, and did say that this stuff was magic as his eyes didn't hurt him this time, job done! When his hair had been dried it was nice and shiny looking and clean smelling, though not quite as effective on my daughters hair, with me having to put extra conditioner on, but as I said earlier she does like having her curly hair straightened, so this will have caused some dryness. Price wise this cost me £1.97, which is a lot more than what I spend, but as it was to encourage my son to be a bit more self sufficient it was of course worth every penny! As I write this first paragraph lots of you probably won't agree; but it is true. Hair self cleans so if you never wash it you can still have lovely looking hair. Once you start washing it you will probably carry on washing it as it will then hit the greasy time etc so you will wash it again. But if you stop washing it from an early age the hair will be lovely if looked after properly. It has to be brushed/combed with something to get all the grime and pollution out that is in the air. So if I believe this then why am I reviewing a shampoo - well although I do believe it the odd time little ones get stuff in their hair like food and stickiness and knots so it has to be washed. My youngest has curly hair which she wouldn't even let me brush - it was a nightmare and we had crying everytime I wanted to brush it I tried all different brushes but as she wouldn't allow me to brush it I thought the only way to get the knots out was to buy some nice smelling shampoos and conditioners and then comb it with the conditioner on. I came across L'oreal kids extra gentle 2 in 1 cheeky cherry shampoo so I bought it. I liked the idea that it was a 2 in 1 meaning it had some conditioning in although her hair was that knotty I knew conditioner would also be needed. Bath time came and out came this shampoo, my little one was eager to smell it and it does smell like cherry but the cherry smelling things, like cherry sweets. My daughter was happy with the smell anyway, so on went the shampoo. I found as long as the hair was wet thoroughly that it lathered well and gave off the sweet cherry smell. Which my daughter was impressed with as she could smell the shampoo whilst it was on her hair. Although it is a 2 in 1 I found that there was no way I could comb her hair whilst this was on, the conditioner part was very little. The bottle states it leaves hair soft, smooth, manageable and extra shiny. Although it also says it smells great alone or with the fruity L'oreal conditioner or tangle tamer which might give a hint that it needs something else. I found this shampoo nice smelling and easy to lather up (which always makes me feel like the hair is being washed properly). I did however also need a conditioner to allow me to comb through the knots which was another L'oreal kids one. So my daughter loved the smell of them both and the fact her hair smelt of cherries. So it was a result. I did wonder if now her hair is under control if I could comb it with just this shampoo but no, it hasn't got enough conditioner in. If your childs hair didn't get easily knotty and they wasn't really headsore then just the shampoo might work but mine need a conditioner too.
