“ Brand: L'Oréal / Type: Hair Shampoo / What it does: Smoothes, „
I have written on here before about the trauma involved in washing my daughter's hair! Thankfully now she is four things have got slightly easier and the method that works for us is for her to hold a flannel over her eyes while we take it in turns to sing a silly song!
Like me she has naturally curly hair that can get itself in a tangle, so I always hope that any shampoos I buy for her help me to keep it soft and tangle free. And this shampoo promises to eliminate knots and leave hair smooth. It currently costs £2.19 in Boots, but as always do look around for offers!
I love fruit fragranced products so this of course appealed to me! I also hoped it would help my daughter enjoy washing her hair a bit more too.
The bottle itself is very pink and girlie and is actually designed to look like a fish if you place it on its side. Although this doesn't really work very well to be honest! But anyway it is what's inside that counts...
Rich and lathery
The shampoo is a nice thick texture and I have made the mistake in the past of using a bit too much of this on my daughter's hair. It only takes seconds to get a nice rich lather, and I find that if I accidentally overdo it, it can take ages to wash out. This can be tedious, and quite annoying when I am trying to keep up with the singing of the silly song! So I definitely think a little goes a very long way, and this bottle seems to be lasting us for ages as a result.
The smell is lovely and both myself and my daughter both absolutely love it. It is very sweet and fruity, and to be honest I would be quite happy to use a product myself with this smell!
As I mentioned before, this can take a little bit of time to wash out of my daughter's hair, which is why I don't use too much of it, but once it's washed out her hair does feel soft and smooth. However the ends can sometimes still be a little tangled, and I do occasionally add a little of my own conditioner to the ends of her hair to give them an extra touch of moisture.
Once her hair is dry, it definitely feels really soft and clean, and has a nice cute fluffiness about it! The smell is also there lingering a little.
Overall I really like this shampoo and would buy it again. My only slight complaint would be that it can be a bit tricky to wash out, and that it isn't quite moisturising enough for my daughter's hair but in the main I really like it. It smells lovely, and a little goes a long way!
The other day whilst browsing beauty aisle in my local supermarket, looking at shampoo and for myself, L'Oreal kids shampoo range caught my eye. Brightly coloured bottles all nicely lined up in the shelf, I couldn't resist going over and having a closer look. I normally stick to buy Johnson's shampoo for my daughter however after smelling the shampoo range; I just had to buy one. The one I chose was Extra Gentle 2 in 1 Strawberry Shampoo.
This shampoo comes in baby pink coloured 250 ml plastic bottle with red flip top lid. This was the only available size of this shampoo in the shop. Bottle has slightly odd shape but it really stands out I quite like it, it curves towards the top of the bottle from left hand side and points to the right. Bottle is not transparent so no way to see how much shampoo is still left other than estimation by the weight of the bottle. This doesn't bother me, not many shampoo's come in transparent bottle anyway. The bottle I purchased is the Ice Age 4 edition and has Scrat's on the front which would probably appeal to older kids; my daughter is only 17 months and is not aware of Ice Age. This is not a reason why I bought it though.
***Why I purchased***
Smell. I love the smell of this shampoo. It is one of the reasons why I bought it. It is just gorgeous, smell good enough to eat!!!! It has really strong smell of strawberries and It remind me of strawberry flavour Hubba Bubba chewing gum (if you ever hear/had it as probably not widely available now, I used to chew it all the time when I was a lot younger). I have also read the label to learn that shampoo promises "no tears" and "no knots". My daughter has been blessed with long (for toddler anyway) curly hair that is quite tricky to brush sometimes so yet another reason why I purchased.
***The big test***
I couldn't wait to use this shampoo on my daughter's hair and put this shampoo to the test. I had big expectations as Loreal is very well known and respected brand although I never used it for my daughter. Anyway, I only needed to squeeze out amount of this slightly pink shiny shampoo. It's lovely smell filled the whole bathroom as I started to wash my daughters hair. It lathers really well too. I cannot comment on "no tears" promise as I didn't get it in my daughter's eyes but I would trust this statement as this shampoo is designed for kids. After towel-drying my daughters hair, lovely strawberry smell transferred onto the towel too. I must say, that it was easy to comb my daughter's curly hair; I got not hassle from her for a change which was pleasant to see. The shampoo has passed the test, left my daughters hair smelling gorgeous, feeling clean, smooth and easy to comb. The smell didn't disappear completely overnight; I was still able to smell strawberries in her hair in the morning.
***Varieties, availability and price***
L'Oreal kids shampoo has more varieties, I have actually been torn between buying Mango Tango which also smells gorgeous and the Strawberries. There are other shampoo's available such us Cherry and Lavender, they also do Tangle Tamer spray or Conditioners.
I got my shampoo from Sainsbury's for the £2.03. When I was buying it, they had 2 for £3.50 offer on however as this was my first experience with L'Oreal kids range; I only purchased Strawberries shampoo in case I don't like the result it gives. I still think price I paid was ok; with prices rising constantly I felt this was an average price to pay. I believe this shampoo can be purchased from other supermarkets/chemist for similar price or even cheaper when you buy on offer.
This shampoo deserves 5/5 from me.
In this review I am going to tell you about L'Oreal Kids Strawberry 2in1 Shampoo and Conditioner and how it makes mine and my daughters life a lot easier and hassle free :-)
Previously I have only tried the Lavender version (which I have also reviewed), as it suited my needs better - I tended to use it after my daughter had come out of the swimming pool and the lavender one appealed more as it tended to make her sleepy before bedtime... However I am open to trying new things and my daughter loves strawberry scents... In my latest visit to Tesco I spotted the Mango and Strawberry versions at buy one get one free - at just £1.99... So as you do, I stocked up!
My daughter attends swimming lessons twice a week and has very long nice normal hair... to keep it this way I prefere to wash her hair straight away whilst in the swimming baths rather than leave her hair full of chlorine overnight or wait til I get home - saves my hot water as well this way ;-)
My little girl hates having her hair washed she is forever complaining that I pull her hair too much... or the shampoo stings her eyes... This range is definetly the mildest I have found on childrens skin and eyes.
I started using the L'Oreal childrens range around around two years ago when she started her swimming lessons because I am aware L'Oreal is a well known brand and I believed it would be mild on her young head - The no tears and no knots slogan on the adverts also sold the product for me!
There is a total of 4 2in1 shampoo's in the L'Oreal range. The choices you have are:
* Mango Tango
* Cherry Almond
However I have not seen the cherry version in my local Tesco before.
About the Lid
Rather than the lid being straight along the top of the bottle it slants the the side giving the overall bottle a unique shape. The lid colour is red and is quite firm to open / close - great for little hands not being able to cause a mess!
About the bottle
The bottle, as mentioned above is a very unique shape. There is no other bottle like it that I have seen... The bottle contents are also 250ml - just to give you an idea on the size... The bottle itself is quite small in comparison to other 2in1's - this doesnt put me off because the liquid does tend to last a long time between buying new bottles in my opinion! The bottle is not too hard to squeeze the liquid out it can be used easily enough - even by children.
The Scent Of The Product
As my title states, when you pop the lid open and do the sniff test to me it smells just the same as Body Shop Strawberry products - this is the closest description to the scent. Which is absolutly yummy may I add!
About The Liquid
The liquid colour is a pearl colour with a hint of pink to go with the product type. The texture of the liquid is not too thick / too runny - its just right. It also doesnt take a lot of liquid to be used to create a good lather in your childs hair - which great compared to a lot of supermarket own brands you would likely need to use twice as much as this brand - therefore costing you more in the long run.
Compared to when I purchase the Lavender version of this 2-in-1 the label has completely changed. On the front you have a large image of Scrat from the Ice Age films - and it also advertises the new Ice Age 4 movie. It also gives you the chance to win a trip to Florida - info for this is on the back and can be found at lorealkids.co.uk - no purchase neccessary.
The back label then reads the following:
L'Oreal kids is so gentle, its tear free.
Formula tested under ophthalmologist control.
L'Oreal kids makes hair so soft and shiny!
Knots can't fight against the conditioning 2in1 formula of L'Oreal kids. Its creamy formula leaves hairsoft, smooth, managable and extra shiny!
L'Oreal kids is easy to use and smells so good!
With L'Oreal kids its fun to shampoo!
With its soft bottle its easy to hold. With L'Oreal kids its fun to shampoo! Wet hair, squeeze a little on to your palm. Apply shampoo and lather up. Rinse clean. The delicious smell of strawberrys makes hair washing a real treat!
CAUTION: DO NOT SWALLOW. KEEP OUT OF REACH OF INFANTS UNLESS SUPERVISED BY ADULTS. IN CASE OF CONTACT WITH EYES RINSE IMMEDIATLY.

* The bottle also states the product has shelf life of up to 12 months - which is good in my opinion.
For those who need to check for allergies on their childrens skin, the product uses the following ingredients:
AQUA / WATER, SODIUM LAURETH SULFATE, POLYSORBATE 21, COCAMIDOPROPYL, BETANE, CETYL ALCOHOL, HYDROXSTEARYL CETYL ETHER, COCAMIDE MIPA, SODIUM CHLORIDE, SODIUM METHYLPATRABEN, DMDM, HYDANTOIN, PHENOXYETHANOL, ETHYLPARABEN, POLYQUATERNIUM-10, DIMETHICONE, PROPYLENE GLYENE, PROPYLPARABEN, ISOBUTYLPARABEN, CARBOMER, METHYLPARABEN, BUTYLPARABEN, HEXYLENE GLYCOL, PARFUM / FRAGRANCE
I am just as impressed with the strawberry version as I am with the lavender. Makes my daughters hair smell gorgeous and I just want to cuddle and kiss her more than I already do!
The shampoo is great in everyway. Cuts the time used in having to shampoo your childs hair, then wash off... then condition and then wash off again... This product means it can be done all in one. My daughter has commented on how this product doesnt sting her eyes as much as others have (Although its not completly sting free this is the only downside!). It smells great. Easy to use and the product lasts a long time. I have never noticed any irritation / dandruff on my childs head nor does she complain about it. It also does keep knotty hair at bay like the adverts state.
The only thing I can advise, if you have very young children / babies - be vary wary before using this product on their due to their sensitive heads - the last thing you want to do is cause them dandruff / sore heads at their ages. There is no age that the product is recommended towards but personally I would advise after the age of 4 - as my daughter has normal skin/hair, she started using the product at this age and there has been no problems.
At the time of writing this review you there is a buy-1-get-1-free offer in Tesco for £1.99.
Hope you enjoyed my review on this product :-) Any feedback on how to improve myself is welcomed :-)
The first time I used L'Oreal Kids Extra Gentle 2 in 1 Strawberry Smoothie Shampoo was when I was going on holidays, I decided to take this 2 in 1 shampoo and conditioner with me as I figured it would take up less weight and space in my suitcase as I wouldn't need to carry a conditioner as well.
This shampoo is really easy to use, just lather up and rinse, (and if repeat if you want to). It does not take too much of this shampoo to get a good lather and clean my hair. I have got this shampoo in my eyes a few times and have found that when I do, it does not really sting them, this makes this a great kids shampoo, though it can be just as good for adults as well.
I am really glad that I tried out this shampoo because it smells absolutely gorgeous, it has a really sweet strawberry smell to it that lingers in my hair for a little while after use.
I found that the results of this shampoo and conditioner combo were really good, it leaves my hair lovely and soft and conditioned. Also I find that when I use this 2 in 1 shampoo that I do not need to wash my hair as much as usual, it does not weigh down my hair, so it takes longer for it to get greasy and need washed.
I buy this shampoo and conditioner combo in Tesco for £1.99 for 250ml, this is quite expensive, however I do not need conditioner when I buy this so I save money that way. A bottle lasts me about 2 weeks if I am washing my hair every 2 days or so, which I think is quite good as I usually go through shampoos quite quickly.
Overall I think that this is a great shampoo and conditioner. It smells lovely and gives great results. Also it is tear free and does not sting my eyes, which would be great when you are using it on kids (though no one likes shampoo stinging their eyes). Overall I would give this product 5 out of 5 stars.

When my daughter's baby shampoo ran out, I thought that I would try moving on to a kids' shampoo. My daughter loves all things pink, and these shampoo certainly is!
I use a lot of Loreal products so it is a brand I know and trust. The shampoo comes in a bright pink bottle shaped like a fish and is strawberry scented (there are other scents/colours available). I picked this up for £2 in Sainsburys, and have seen it at that price in Asda too. The bottle is bright and child-friendly, my daughter was certainly impressed (she is 2.5 yrs). The shampoo claims to be extra mild with no tears, it is also a 2 in 1 so no need for conditioner (a godsend when your child hates their hair being washed as it means 1 wash not 2!)
The shampoo itself is a creamy white colour. The bottle is well proportioned and easy to grip so you don't end up squeezing out too much. The lid clicks into place securely and doesn't leak. The shampoo is fairly thick so it doesn't run off your hand - it's actually thicker than my Pantene conditioner! It smells gorgeous and my daughter loves it. It lathers well and is a pleasure to use as it smells so nice.
I have used this for a few months now and a bottle lasts quite a while. It is a bit on the expensive side but most shampoos are. I have seen it on offer at £1 in Asda's Baby Event so it's worth stocking up.
I have to say it does leave my daughter's hair very soft and the smell is subtle but lovely, you can still smell it on her hair for a good few hours. I've even used it myself!
As a mother of 2 small girls, one of whom has an unhealthy obsession with all things pink and purple, I am always on the look out for functional, practical products which also will appeal to my children. My eldest, 5, has very fine, fly-away hair, so I tend not to wash her hair every day, more like twice a week or so. I thought I would give L'Oreal Kids a go when it came to choosing a new shampoo, as L'Oreal seem to be a brand leader, of course, and hey aren't our children worth?
Hehe, anyway, I found their extra milk 2 in 1 strawberry smoothie shampoo for about £2 in my local Sainsbury's, and it came in a bright pink bottle shaped like a fish. It seemed silly not to give it a go, as it smelt delicious and would definitely appeal to many girls.
The shampoo itself is rich and thick with a good amount of control mechanism in the bottle, so you don't end up using half a hand's worth every time you wash. It lathers well and has a wonderful fruity aroma. It rinses clean away cleanly, either using a shower head or even just a jug if used in the bath! My youngest is 20 months old and never moans if she gets this near her eyes, so I guess that proves that it must be extra mild. I haven't actually used it on my own hair, but with a smell like that I am sorely tempted!
If you have girls who love pink and things that smell fruity, and you are a mum and want an effective shampoo that lathers well and rinses cleanly, then you should all be happy with this shampoo!
I first discovered the 'L'Oreal Kids' range of hair care products a while back when I was looking for something new to try out. I remember being reasonably impressed at the time, but not enough to convert to the brand fully. On a recent family holiday abroad however, I was re-introduced to the range courtesy of my young nephew (he is almost 2) as his silly aunty had forgotten to pack her own shampoo and conditioner products and so she had to share his!
The product that I used recently (and have used several times overall) is the "L'Oreal Kids So Strawberry 2 in 1 Shampoo", which is a shampoo with a conditioning product added to it, hence the '2in1' aspect of the product. I believe that the product was formerly titled 'Strawberry Smoothie 2in1' shampoo, but I believe that this is a bit of a re-branding technique from L'Oreal, as both products seem identical to me, even down to the packaging's details!
The bottle is made of bright pink-coloured plastic which I believe can be widely recycled. This particular range of products have a very eye-catching design, in that all of the bottles in the range are shaped to look like little fish. There is an eye on the front of the bottle and even the plastic lid on the end of the bottle looks like a mouth. This certainly made the product appealing to my young nephew who happily played with the bottle in the bathtub each evening whilst he was getting washed.
The 250ml bottle of shampoo costs around £2 and is widely available from drugstores such as Boots and Superdrug, as well as larger supermarkets such as Tesco.
It is worth pointing out, for those of you who are parents, that the L'Oreal Kids Strawberry Shampoo has a 'no tears' formula, so it is safe to use on infants and youngsters. In addition, the product claims to have a 'no knots' formula, thanks to the softening qualities contained therein, so it is easy to see that this is a product that has been specifically formulated for those younger members of the family.
The L'Oreal shampoo is easy to dispense from the chunky plastic bottle as the bottle is not made of plastic that is overly thick or robust, and I found it easy to dispense the liquid even with wet hands. Also, the liquid shampoo was not overly runny or messy to use, but neither was it so thick that it felt gloopy or unpleasant on my hair. In actual fact, I felt the consistency was just right, which surprised me slightly; I think I had been expecting the shampoo to be thin and runny somehow!
The shampoo is of course fragranced with strawberry, and this is evident almost as soon as it is dispensed from the bottle. The smell is one that I find absolutely gorgeous - it is very sweet, although not at all sickly, nor is it over-powering. I thought that the product was a very uplifting one to use when I was on holiday recently due to it being so fruity and fresh and I cannot fault this aspect of the product at all.
The L'Oreal shampoo lathered up easily and quickly in my shoulder-length hair and I thought it felt quite pleasant whilst I was using it to wash my hair. This was helped of course, by the gorgeous fragrance that was evident as I shampooed the product through my hair. The first time that I tried out this product on my hair, I used it by itself and dried my hair as normal which I was slightly dubious about doing, as I usually use a separate shampoo and conditioner on my hair. To be fair, the L'Oreal 2in1 Shampoo did a reasonable job at removing the tangles and knots in my thick hair, but I felt it left my hair looking slightly 'flyaway' and anyway I prefer to protect my coloured hair, so I opted to use a coloured conditioner (borrowed from my sister) after using the L'Oreal 2in1 shampoo for the remainder of the holiday. I think if I had been really stuck then the product would have reasonably conditioned my hair, but not to the same extent as using a separate conditioning product, understandably.
I felt that the L'Oreal shampoo left my hair squeaky clean and with a healthy shine to it, whilst being quite soft to the touch. It worked well for me as it was easy to use and without a lot of the 'fuss' that a lot of hair care products seem to have nowadays. I also felt that the product didn't leave my hair feeling at all 'heavy' or with any sort of greasy residue or anything left behind and I was impressed with the results achieved.
Overall, I really liked the L'Oreal Kids Strawberry 2in1 Shampoo and have actually just purchased my own bottle, such was my love affair with this little product on my recent holiday! I will need to continue to use my separate conditioner with the product but that's fine with me and I'm willing to compromise on that point.
~The no more tears way to freshly washed hair~
One of the products amongst the range of childrens hair care products from L'Oreal that I have bought and used is the Kids Strawberry Smoothie Shampoo which is just one of the varieties you can buy from a wider range of really fruity smelling child friendly shampoos and hair products, that can be used by big kids and little ones too. The fragrant and fruity L'Oreal Kids Strawberry Smoothie Shampoo has a faint pearly shade to it, with a good texture that won't run away too quickly when you are trying to apply it to the hair. The scent that comes from the product is very suited to its theme as it really does have a strawberry fragrance that remains on the hair for some time after rinsing and drying.
The bottle that the L'Oreal Kids Strawberry Smoothie Shampoo comes in is very cute and quirky, as it has the appearance of a friendly little sea creature/ fishy that has come to help wash the kids hair with a super duper tear free shampoo formula. The bottle is chunky and stands well on the edge of the bath or shower when in use and has a simple flip top lid that is easy to open and close when needed. The front face of the product bottle has a simple eye shape on it that completes the cute and friendly bath time creature look and I feel that this is in part what children are attracted to as it makes for a very child friendly looking product. The bottle makes a fun bath time squirter after it has been emptied which children seem to find fun to play with under adult supervision.
~Ease of use~
When in use the L'Oreal Kids Strawberry Smoothie Shampoo has a nice pearly colour that shines in the light before it is applied to the hair and is just about the right thickness so as not to run out of your hands before it reaches your childs (or your own) hair. The L'Oreal Kids Strawberry Smoothie Shampoo smells fruity and tangy with plenty of strawberry fragranced soft and foamy bubbles once it has been massaged into wet hair and it takes very little effort to make a nice soft lather when using this. The foamy shampoo needs just a little working through or massaging into the hair before being rinsed off and for children generally one wash and one rinse should be enough to allow the shampoo to give a nice clean and freshly washed shiny hair look.
When I have used this L'Oreal Kids Strawberry Smoothie Shampoo I have found that it works really well as a 2 in 1 product which is mild enough to work well on both childrens and adults hair with a good degree of success. The fact that this is a 2 in 1 wash and conditioner product means that you are able to save time when using it, as you only need one product instead of a shampoo and a conditioner. I feel that using something like this also causes less stress to children who are not keen on having their hair washed as you only need to wash and rinse once to ensure soft and clean tangle free hair.
One of the real benefits of using the L'Oreal Kids Strawberry Smoothie Shampoo, aside from the mega fruity fragrance and the nice clean and shiny hair this gives, has to be the no more tears formula which really works well. I have found that even if a fair amount of the L'Oreal Kids Strawberry Smoothie Shampoo gets into your eyes it doesn't end up in floods of tears from unhappy children as it seems to do as it promises and causes no more tears. This means that children have more confidence in you using the product to wash their hair with, which I feel really is helpful to busy mums and dads.
~Rating and price~
I have found that the L'Oreal Kids Strawberry Smoothie Shampoo leaves my hair soft and shiny when I have used it and I really haven't needed to use another conditioning product with it at all. I also feel that this works very well on childrens hair leaving it soft and tangle free and the addition of the special no tears formula is a real bonus. With the cost of a well sized 250 ml bottle of this product being between £1 when on offer and close to £2 at full price I feel that prices are fair. Very often you can pick up some of this range of shampoos for close to the the lower price mentioned, which makes them a very good buy. l feel that the cherry almond flavoured shampoo from this range seems to be the favorite, although the L'Oreal Kids Strawberry Smoothie Shampoo is still a good choice even if the strawberry scent does have a synthetic feel to it. As I have found the L'Oreal Kids Strawberry Smoothie Shampoo to be very easy to use with the very minimum of fuss and good over all results, I feel I want to give it a 4 star rating.
I moved on to the L'Oreal Kids' range of hair products once my oldest sons were too 'grown up' for baby shampoo but still needed products that offered the same 'no more tears' reassurance.
Like the rest of the range, this shampoo can easily be spotted on the shelves because of their bright, quirky shaped bottles. This Strawberry variety is probably intended to appeal to girls more so than boys, thanks to its very bright pink and red packaging, but my sons haven't objected to using it as yet. This fragrance is not their favourite though -as that spot is taken by the cherry variety- but they do like this strawberry shampoo and will often give the bottle a good sniff before use, as do I!
Like the rest of the range, the chunky bottle is easy for young children to hold and open and close themselves, if they will insist on being independent. The bottle is slightly squeezy, helping to release just the right amount of shampoo and the shampoo itself is a good texture - not too runny or too thick- so it can be poured easily without any waste. When added to wet hair, this lathers up well but, helpfully, also rinses out easily which minimises the amount of water needed. (An important point for any reluctant hair washers!)
Like the cherry version, this is a 'two-in-one' combined shampoo and conditioning product, so a single application of this should replace the need to follow up with a separate conditioner. I do find that this leaves my boys' thick hair feeling soft and thoroughly cleansed, leaving behind a pleasant distinctly fruity fragrance that actually lasts for a day or so.
The biggest benefit of this shampoo is its 'no more tears' formulation. My boys have never really enjoyed having their hair washed but are now of an age where they will tolerate it and co-operate with the process to minimise stress. They still hate getting suds in their eyes but, on the rare occasions any stray into their face, we don't get the agonising screams that other cheaper brands have produced! I'd certainly continue to use this brand, or at the very least another proven 'no more tears' formulation, for as long as I have to wash the boys' hair myself!
The L'Oreal Kids range is stocked in most supermarkets and chemists for around £2 for a 250ml bottle, which I find lasts us for several months. I also find this cheaper on a regular basis at Home Bargains, so well worth looking in there too.
Whilst this is not the most popular fragrance from the range in our household, I'd still recommend it for any young children, particularly little girls who love anything pink and girly and smelling of strawberries! Even the little boys in our family are happy to use this, despite the feminine packaging, for the time being anyway.
I am always on the lookout for different bath care products for my daughter. Since she was newborn up until several months ago I always used Johnson's bath products but now she is almost three they are just not working as well for her anymore. The shampoo was just not working well for her hair and always felt dry. First I opted for trying the Johnson's juniors shampoo but this must be the worst product Johnson's do and I was very disappointed.
After trying many of different shampoos and then trying conditioners as well I found the L'Oreal kids extra gentle 2 in 1 strawberry smoothie shampoo. After reading the packaging as well as giving the shampoo a little sniff in the beauty isle (as you do) I thought right there that I had found the perfect shampoo. After uming and arghing about whether to buy it because of the high £3.00 price tag, I thought I would give it a try.
The shampoo is packaged in the ordinary type of bottle that the L'Oreal kid's shampoos come in, with a flip up lid. The bottle is an edible looking pink which goes really well with the edible smell that comes from the bottle when you open it. The smell really does blow you away, it's such a sweet and fruity smell, the main smell is strawberry however there are slight hints of berry and it has a resemblance to the smell of Robinsons summer fruits juice drink.
The shampoo itself is a very light pink colour with almost a hint of a silvery shimmery colour in there. The consistency is just right, not too runny but not too thick either. It is very light and lathers up really well creating lots of bubbles which my daughter loves! As you are rubbing it in it leaves your hands feeling very soft and smelling gorgeous too!
At the minute my daughter has become obsessed with the shower every time she has a bath she has to have the shower on. This plus her liking to help wash her own hair equals lots of water and shampoo residue running down her face and into her eyes. My daughter has never liked having her hair washed, it has always been a real struggle to do, she has never screamed as much as when she has her hair washed. However recently (now I don't know if this is to do with the shampoo or not) but she has not minded having her hair washed, especially when she can do it herself. She has never cried or complained about getting this shampoo in her eyes which proves to me that the no tears claim does actually work.
When using the shampoo the smell fills the bathroom, which is lovely and leaves the bathroom smelling gorgeous for hours. As for my daughters hair that smells gorgeous as well. Some shampoos you can buy smell nice in the bottle but then washes out. This smell lasts on my daughter's hair all day and night and leaves it smelling so fruity and fresh.
My daughter has very curly hair and tends to knot very easily leaving her hating having her hair brushed. After using this shampoo her hair has no knots and the brush just glides through. That is another of the bottles claims that I can tick off.
It also makes her hair feel very soft and smooth, it looks shiny and conditioned and it defines her curls very well instead of leaving her hair frizzy and unmanageable like lots of shampoos do.
I cannot recommend this shampoo enough; it's just perfect in every way and most importantly leaves my daughters hair perfect. A huge 5 out of 5 from me despite the price!
I LOVE childrens products! They're always so much more exciting than adult ones.
Kids Extra Gentle 2-in-1 Strawberry Smoothie Shampoo is made by L'Oreal.
It comes in a candy-pink bottle with a reddy pink flip top lid.
The bottle itself is very cheery looking - very bright and it has a cartoon ish sort of look to it. I don't have kids, but when I was younger I loved the look of the bottle (and still do).
When you open it up and give it a squeeze a lovely strawberry scent will fill your nose-holes. It's a very sweet, summery scent. It is, in my opinion, what a childs hair should smell like! :) I always felt like a kid again when I used to use this.
To use you simply rub it into wet hair then rinse it out.
It's a 'no tears' formula and it really doesn't hurt much if you get it in your eyes which is great.
It's also meant to help with tangles, and it does that too (I have really tangly hair)
This actually leaves your hair really soft and nice and is one of the products I miss a little since I started avoiding unethical products. If L'Oreal were a bit more ethical as a company, I'd definately use this every now and again :)
My five year old daughter still has a considerable amount of fuzzy, baby hair that refuses to grow downwards and each morning she looks (hair wise) not dissimilar to the incredible hulk! I therefore thought using some conditioner after shampooing might help.
Whilst shopping in Tesco's I came across L'Oreal's 'Extra Gentle 2-in1' conditioning shampoo for kids and thought I would give it a try. I should mention that I chose the 'soothing lavender' variety but thought it still relevant to write about it here being exactly the same product (my choice being governed by the hope that the lavender would have a calming effect post-bath when, let's face it, most parents are already totally exhausted themselves!). In addition, being a conditioning shampoo means only have to wash and rinse once thus cutting down on time and angst!
This shampoo comes in a bottle shaped like a fish, with a twinkling eye and a lid that looks like a mouth. This instantly appealed to my two children who wanted to play with it in the bath although I managed to persuade them that once it was empty it would be all theirs!
The shampoo is white and of a fairly runny consistency but it lathers up quite well so you only need to use a small amount.
The bottle states 'SUPER fruity fragrance' although I thought the smell was quite mild and didn't particularly smell like lavender but it did leave my children's hair smelling lovely, looking shiny and it did tame my daughter's fuzzy locks. As I stated before she has very short hair so I don't know how this would fare with long hair but there were no knots or tears for us.
The price was £2.00 which is a little expensive but it is a two-in-one product which I would definitely buy again.
Thanks for reading.

I only bought this because it was reduced to 58p in Tesco and I'm a sucker for a bargain - even one I don't need!
This says it's a 2-in-1 shampoo for kids - strawberry smoothie flavour in fact. Yum...
The packaging is predominantly pink so would probably appeal more to little girls, luckily my two boys aren't quite old enough to be bothered by this but I doubt I would buy this at full price, simply because it is rather girly.
As soon I opened the bottle I was knocked over by the strong artificial strawberry scent. It smells rather like cheap stawberry flavour sweets, some people may like this but I'm afraid it just doesn't appeal to me.
The product lathers up well, with only a small amount and seemed to clean their hair fairly well. I've found no matter what shampoo you use, kids will always cry if it goes in their eyes so I just try to avoid that, but my youngest isn't great at tipping his head back so of course got a face full. This doesn't seem to sting though and to be honest he cries when it's just water! The shampoo washed out easily and I could feel that their hair felt softer already, not that little boys really care!
After using L'Oreal Kids 2-in-1 Shampoo my sons' hair does feel softer, it looks nice and fluffy (they have fine hair) and smells slightly of the shampoo (not a plus for me!) so I guess it works pretty well. As their hair is short I can't really comment on the detangling ability, however I did comb their hair for nits after using this and it was easy to do.
To summarise, I would say it's probably worth buying this if you have girls with long hair, for little boys I wouldn't bother as at full price it's not cheap at around £3 a bottle.
Anyone who regularly reads my reviews will not only be aware that I love the scent of children's products but I also adore using them! I find alot of kids body washes etc kind and gentle to my really sensitive skin and on days when I'm washing my hair that has not alot of hair products in (in the main) again, I find that these products are very kind to me so prefer to use them.
I actually purchased this on offer in Sainsbury's priced at £1.00 a bottle (usually about £1.97 in all good supermarkets and chemists). As I say I adore the scent of kids products and I opened this up took one whiff and knew immediately it was 'very me' and fell head over heels in love with it! lol
Bright pink 250ml slightly curved bottle with a dark red flip top lid to the top of it concealing a small hole. On the front the of the bottle there is a contrasting red label stuck on there and on there there is a picture of like a fish eye (so if you look at the bottle length-ways on it actually looks like a fish lol) and under that in black, pink and blue writing I'm told it is L'Oreal 'Kids' Extra Gentle Very Berry Strawberry Conditioner 'No Tears! No Knots! and has a super fruity fragrance and contains detangler. On the back of the bottle this time in black and white writing I'm told a bit about the product, directions for use are given, ingredients are listed, contact details for L'Oreal are given, the recycle symbol and size are stated and finally the bar-code is displayed. A very nice appealing to kids bottle this is, nice to display in a bathroom and contains enough information to make an informed choice to if you want to use it or not!
A Bit About The Product According To The Back Of The Bottle....
L'Oreal Kids is so gentle, it's tear free.
L'Oreal Kids is so conditioning + detangling.
It's great for hard to manage hair and it's creamy formula helps to get rid of knots and split ends, leaving hair extra soft and smooth.
L'Oreal Kids, Very Berry Strawberry Conditioner smells great with all the other L'Oreal Kids products.
Directions For Use....
It's easy to have soft manageable hair: Apply a burst of conditioner to clean, damp hair. Rinse clean. Use after every shampoo for best results.
Me Using It....
Well I'm an adult and I absolutely adore this, I really do. I use it after every wash with a normal shampoo and apply some of the opaque, creamy white liquid to my damp/wet hair. Not alot of this is needed and it is quite thick and goes on very luxuriously smoothly and only a little goes a very long way indeed. I don't feel the need with this to leave it on though I can for a few minutes if I want to and neither do I feel the need to smooth it through with a comb or anything like that. Basically I smooth it through with my fingers and then rinse off pretty quickly and go.
It's a joy to use on every level and the fragrance of this is simply divine and fresh. So much so that after staying at my bf's and washing my hair following morning he actually commented on how nice I smelt and I'm sure it's down to this because the smell really does linger on the hair until washed out. On that note this stuff really does wash out the hair with no major issues and when your hair is still wet hair feels very gently conditioned and glossy and softened.
My hair is left bouncy, smelling adorable and is incredibly shiny. It eradicates knots as promised and my hair feels a hell of a lot smoother and as promised for the kids it tells us it will help control split ends. It does this for adults too and blends frizz and splits ends alike into your hair leaving it looking healthy. People have started to tell me how 'fresh' my hair looks after using this and it doesn't weigh the hair down. I can still style my hair after using this and all round my hair just feels and looks amazing and me, I'll be buying this time and time again as it's so mild and gentle and really does what it says it will!
Now lets not forget this is designed for the children and when I mentioned this to my mate (Mother of two) she told me she uses nothing but this on her nippers hair as it leaves it amazingly conditioned. Me, if I had kids I'd want to use this wonderful formulation on them for sure. For me this is a whole family treat and a really feel good product. Highly, highly recommended from me.....this is!
