I have been using loreal product for many years now, I feel they are fantastic products and great quality and most importantly affordable. I use hair spray on a daily basis just to keep my curly unruly hair under control. I used to use a cheap supermarket own brand but I decided to treat myself to Loreal Studio Line Silk and Gloss Volume hair spray.
It was on special offer in asda for £2.00 and is usually priced around £4.00. I only purchased it because it was on offer but now I will be sticking to this hair spray as I have had fabulous results from the hair spray. Its widely available on the high street and in supermarkets.
Loreal basically say it adds volume and gives good hold, it also adds shine and leaves hair silky smooth.
It comes in a tall silver container, classic hairspray container with a purple spray nozzle, It has product information on the front and back of the container. Studio Line range has been designed for salon quality product for at home use and are more affordable than salon hair care ranges.
Its very easy to use, If I am wearing my hair in its natural form, which is curly I just hold the can 25cm away from my hair and give quick all over bursts of hair spray. I try not to put to much on as I hate my curls feeling heavy and coated as it takes my natural shine away from my hair. I also like to straightening my hair for nights out and like a little quiff now and again when my hairs in a bobble. It is a good spray for adding volume by back combing.
The hairspray is great for taming fly away hair and short hairs that you want more control over, it felt light weight in my hair and dried in instantly. If used correctly I did not experience and crusty, hard or brittle hair. I left my hair very smooth and silky and I enjoyed touching my hair as it felt so soft. It left my hair glossy and shiny and after having a baby my hair became very dull and lank and I found that it spruced my hair up and gave me some of my confidence back and shine!
Its a great hairspray for styling as I like to add volume to my hair as its a little lifeless at the moment and I do not see it improving any time soon with winter on its way. I back come my hair just ever so slightly to add volume and use a little spray to my hair before I back comb. It keeps my hair smelling nice and fresh and in place all day and brushes out without any effort.
I have been using this hairspray for a while now and do not think I will stop using it any time soon and I am happy to pay full price for it. I have had lots of compliments on how glossy my hair look but have not revealed my secret hairspray weapon yet!
I would say that I don't tend to use Hairspray all that much, only when my Hair is looking a mess and i'm trying to make it look a bit neater when it is needing washed, but that is happening more often thesedays to be fair. My hair is Thick and Greasy, so it needs to be washed every 2nd day. Sometimes on the 2nd day my Hair can often look a bit greasy, so I usually tie it back and try to hide the bad bits. I've never been brand loyal to such a product, but I don't tend to use Supermarket branded Hairspray as I found that the scent of it was a bit too strong. This view goes back a few years though, so perhaps things have changed thesedays.
I picked up a tin of this in Semi Chem about 6 weeks ago and still have about a third of this tin left. I got this for £1.69, but after looking online I see that the price of this seems to be a lot more - Even up to £1 more. This comes in a 200ml tin as an average if not a little more expensive price for such a product.
The tin for this looks alright. It looks like the picture on here. It doesn't exactly stand out against the colourful tins on the shelf, but the shiny silver colouring is alright. The lid is sturdy enough and even though I haven't put this in my bag and carried it about I think that the lid would stay on just fine.
This comes out in quite a fine spray and is sort of a Mist rather than a strong Aerosol. The Spray sets pretty fast and although you can feel that your Hair is that bit crisp it isn't solid feeling. I spray a good amount of this to keep my hair tied back and it holds it back just fine. The scent of this isn't that great - just the usual Hairspray scent which is a bit chemical smelling, but there does seem to be a slight light scent in here as well. Not the worst scent that I have smelt and ok since it is a little light and fresh.
I didn't realise that this gave Volume as well as Gloss. I don't need any Volume for my Hair. I can't see this gives any Volume but bear in mind that I only use this to keep my hair back when it is brushed into a Ponytail. This does seem to give a bit Sheen to my Hair and all in all it is alright. This brushes out easy enough and doesn't flake off in large chunks.
A good enough product and I would consider this again as it does the job alright.
I am not a massive hairspray fan, and don't usually use it, but as I have had my hair re done, I noticed that hairspray did have much more volume, so I decided to give hairspray a go, to see if I could re do the salon style. I first noticed L'Oreal Studio Silk and Gloss Volume Hairspray was in Boots, and as it was on offer, I decided to give it a go, and see it if it was as good as it should be.
The packaging is fairly simple, with the can being light purple, with a feather type shape on the can, and it includes the L'Oreal Paris logo, and the product would definitely grab my eye on a shelf, as it looks appealing and an interesting. There is some information on the can, regarding the product, such as "glossy shine", "silky touch" and the product has "Silk Micro-Fibres". On the back of the can there is much more information regarding the hairspray, such as "holds all day", "hair shines" and "feels as soft as silk, these claims are pretty amazing, but we'll just see if they live up to the hype. Ingredients are also on the back of the can.
Applying the hairspray is pretty easy, you press the button down, and as the recommendation don't say how far to spray from, but I noticed, that for more I spray from further away, but for ultimate hold, try closer to the hair. As I used the hairspray to add more volume to my hair, I followed the directions at the back of the can, which states to spray when hair is upside down and focus on the roots, and I noticed that this was a decent technique to apply, but I also felt that to give certain areas, such as my fringe, more focus to get more volume.
The smell of the hairspray is pretty similar to most hairsprays, and is quite strong, but luckily the smell does fade over the day, thankfully. The results of the hairspray were pretty good, it holds extremely well, so it's a real plus if you use the hairspray for hold, then I would definitely recommend. The volume side of the hairspray is pretty so so, it does add volume for the moment, but it does soon flatten and I have tried using more spray, but it still flattens easily, so not so good for the long term. But I did feel that spraying the outside of the hair it did last a little longer.
L'Oreal Paris Studio Silk and Gloss Volume Hairspray is available at most pharmacists and some supermarkets, and costs £56, but currently at Boots there is an offer for 2 for £4 on L'Oreal Paris and other offers run throughout the year for L'Oreal Paris.
When it comes to hairspray I dont think that spending more gets you a better product - in most cases anyway. So when my latest can of spray runs out I usually head to Poundland or Bodycare to stock up on whatever brand of spray is on sale and last time it happened to be this 'Loreal Studio Line Silk & Gloss Volume Hairspray' which I was very happy to get a bargain deal on because Id heard so many wonderful things about it. Loreal is a brand which I simply cant make my mind up on - some of their products are fabulous and ones that I use everyday and others are just so awful I wish Id never bought them. Happily though this hairpspray falls into the first category and Im glad I stocked up when I had the chance because this is one of the best hairsprays Ive used - its the exception to the price/quality rule I reckon.
Price: £3.56 - Price varies greatly though so shop around.
Stockists: Boots, Superdrug & Poundland - every now and then!
Other Info: Said to create volume in your hair strand by strand while keeping your style in place all day. Perfect for using on styled hair or if your wearing it down.
This spray come in a purple and white, metallic 250ml can. All the information you could need about the product is written on the back of the can: ingredients, directions for use, shelf life etc so any questions you have should be answered on the back of the can. I really like the packaging for this - it looks modern and classy and looks really good on my bathroom shelf. At the top of the can is the usual push down nozzle and a transparent lid to ensure if your carrying this around in your bag it wont just spray out everywhere.
So to use this hairspray you hold it around 15cm away from your hair and spray directly onto whatever style your hoping to hold in place and some on your roots - if you are wishing to use the volume aspect of this spray. The spray goes on very finely and doesnt leave my hair feeling sticky or crunchy at all - or giving me that dreaded hard headed look. The smell is exactly what you would expect from a hairspray slightly chemical and strong with a fruity edge so it isnt great but on the plus side it doesnt linger on your hair for very long at all so its not an issue for me.
As I mentioned I tend to use this mainly when my hair is down to ensure it doesnt get frizzy and with this one to add extra volume and gloss and for that purpose it works amazingly well. This makes sure my hair doesnt become frizzy all day long and it does a a really subtle glossy sheen to my locks exactly like it promises which I have to admit I was surprised by. And even more shockingly it DOES add volume - not loads and loads but my hair definitely looks more pumped up and full of life after Ive styled it with this and that look lasts all day long so claim wise it does everything it promises.
On styled hair it works just as well. On my 'off' days as I call them a simple ponytail or plait is all I can be bothered to do with my hair and I always have to use spray to ensure the style stays in place while Im out and about but with most I find I have to keep re-applying all day but with this one I spray it on once before I leave my house and it makes my style stick for as long as I need it to - perhaps not quite all day long but for a good 7-8 hours which is still brilliant in my experience.
I cannot recommend this highly enough because it does literally everything it promises and if you can find it on sale like I did it is a bargain spray. Hairspray users check this one out because it is one of the best - if not THE best one Ive ever used.
Thanks For Reading.

I don't usually use a lot of hairspray, but there are some days when there's no taming my hair (it's pretty long) and a quick spray of hairspray can help to settle it down and keep it looking how I want it to. I paid around £3.50 for a 200ml spray can in a local chemist whilst I was picking up a prescription, as I'd not seen it advertised before and wanted to give it a try.
The purple and silver can is easy to use having a push button top which is easy to press down and dispense the spray from. The idea behind this Studioline Silk and Gloss Volume hairspray is that it has 'silk micro-fibres' which create volume when sprayed onto the hair, and is meant to make your hair feel silky whilst holding it in place. I figured this would be a good thing given that many hairsprays can stop your hair feeling soft and make it feel crispy or brittle.
To use this, you're meant to tip your head upside down and apply the spray to the roots of your hair (dry or damp, but not wet) to create volume. I applied this to my long hair (mid back) after straightening it before a night out in order to keep it smooth and controlled throughout the night. The first thing I really noticed about this L'Oreal spray is that it smells horrible, sickly sweet and not at all nice to have on your hair.
In terms of holding my hair it did a good job, and did create some volume to my roots and gave my hair a nice shine. It didn't make my hair feel stiff as some hairsprays can, but equally, my hair didn't feel as silky as I was expecting though. I found that the hairspray left little flakes along my ends of my hairs (they weren't there before, and they weren't there after washing this hairspray out). The hairspray is meant to brush out fairly easily, but I'm not sure it's meant to leave little white dots, after all I didn't go overboard with the application, as I was trying this for the first time and didn't know what to expect.
Added to this the fact that the horrible scent stayed around for nearly an hour on my hair, and I will not be buying this hairspray again. Maybe I got a dud can, but there are cheaper alternatives around which I like better and which don't smell foul.
I bought the L'Oreal Studio Line Silk & Gloss Volume Hairspray at the same time I purchased the 'Oreal Studio Line Silk & Gloss Curl Power Mousse, with the idea that when I put my curled hair up I can control it further with a spritz of hairspray. However since then I have also used it on my non curled, straight natural hair with great results.
The hairspray looks good in a modern silver and purple bottle and costs £2.95 from most leading chemists and beauty suppliers. Just before Christmas I purchased some 'bumpits' (hair inserts to give volume) and pinned my hair into a beehive style for our works Christmas party. I gave it a liberal spraying of 'Oreal Studio Line Silk & Gloss Volume Hairspray and I have to say I was very very pleased with the results. My hair was held, quite firmly, in place, in accompniment to the pins already in place. It doesn't smell too bad, with no discrenible scent, nor does it drip, or 'freeze' hair into place with beads of sticky spray like some cheaper hairsprays can. No, my hair remained shiny and looked great.
Once I got home I removed my hairpins and bumpit and brushed out the hairspray before I got into bed. I was pleased to find the hairspray brushed out with ease, with no white flakes, and left my hair clean and soft. Elnet, another L'Oreal hairspray, is very similar in the way it brushes out well. This meant I went to bed and didn't ruin my pillow with hairspray or drag my hair out by pulling a hairbrush through heavily sprayed hair.
I now use the spray whenever I put my hair up or curl it and it is a great product that is well worth the money. I really like L'Oreal hairsprays and this does not disappoint.
Not using alot of hairspray when I run out I tend to always to go for a hairspray from a brand that I trust. I don't like the feel of hairspray on my hair however feel I need a some from time to time on 'up dos' especially as I live a stones throw away from the beach where the wind is usually rife!
I chose this hairspray cos obviously I am aware of the brand but what actually swung it was that not only is this a new product that has been recently added to the range but that usually it costs £3.49 a can and I got it as part of a deal in Boots with any two L'Oreal hair products costing £4.00 so I purchased a couple of things.
250ml silver and purple coloured can. It has a push button aerosol sprayer to the top of it and over that a clear plastic lid covers that and pulls on and off with total ease. On the front of the can I am told that it is L'Oreal Paris 'New' StudioLine Silk & Gloss Volume Hairspray 'Glossy shine, silky touch with silk micro-fibres' and that it creates extra volume. On the back of the can other information listed includes being told a bit about the product (and in lots of different languages too), cautions and ingredients are listed, the size is stated and contact details for L'oreal are given. It's a nice high quality looking can this and easy to use etc.
A Bit About The Product According To The Information Given On The Back Of The Can:
The 1st Studioline hairspray enriched with silk micro-fibres creates styles with volume, strand by strand. Holds all day, hair shines and feels as soft as silk.
Tip head upside down. Spray on dry or damp hair, focusing on the roots.
Well as advised I have used this on damp and dry hair to create volume and shine on my just below shoulder length hair which is really fine. It sprays out evenly and clear and rather damp and is a little sticky (if you touch it when its still damp on the hair). The smell of this isn't very pleasant though really. It has a weird sweet sort of fruity aroma to it which to me smells as if it is trying to cover up the smell of chemicals a bit too hard but at least that initial smell wears off the hair over time to be fair to it.
However aside from that this is a great everyday hairspray. On dry hair it sets styles and if you scrunch it up a bit as you go it puts a firm unsticky and not hard looking volume into the hair. Once you have created that firm holding natural looking volume in the hair it actually stays in the hair until you brush it out (which it does with real ease) and not only does it add a natural gloss to the hair, hair feels soft and like it has no hairspray in it at all but it keeps keeps frizz at bay with complete ease leaving hair looking sleek.
This is also fabulous for using on damp hair unlike a lot of hairsprays I have used in the past. Again it feels a bit sticky when in use however as it dries it loses that feeling totally. I love using this around my crown in-particular on damp hair to shove in some really much needed volume that again stays the duration until I brush it out.
This is actually a really good hairspray in my opinion apart from the not so nice fragrance that it has. It makes my hair feel soft and cared for, adds a lovely natural looking shine to my barnet and keeps volume in it and a sleek polished slightly controlled look. you don't need to use very much of it at all and its really effective!
Available in all good supermarkets and chemists etc priced at about £3.49 a can.
