... friends has the same hair colour and she uses the same toner and her hair goes a silvery-white colour. So if you are looking into buying this colour be warned that it does not work on all hair types, it doesn't take to mine very well sadly. I still use the toner however to tone hair extensions as it is hard to buy the right shade of blonde extensions. The toner is semi permanent so if you don't like it it does wash out, but this is a problem if you do like the colour as you will have to keep re-applying it every 6 washes o...more

Crowned Review La Riche Directions: Go forth and multi dye (865 words)
by - written on 05/12/08 (Very useful, 501 readings)
Rating:

Since having children my hair has darkened, apparently normal for those with lighter shades of hair... but I don't like it. So, I took this change as an invitation to experiment with colour again, like I did in my student days. So, in August this year I had rainbow coloured streaks put through my hair by my funky hairdresser Elton at Betty Tigers. In November, the strongest colours were still there and vibrant but the growth was evident so I've hit the shops and found a new colour, but whilst I wait to rinse, here's the info: Each clear plastic pot of LaRiche Directions colour is 88ml and sells for around £3.50 each, dependent on your local stockist. ...  Read the complete review

La Riche DIRECTIONS Semi-Permanent Conditioning Hair Colour I have been using this range of hair-colour now for YEARS I've tried many others but always come back to this brand. It comes in a variety of fetching shades over the years I've tried, Flamingo Pink, Violet, Apple Green, Neon Blue..and there are plenty more colours and shades to choose from too. My favorite colour of choice has to be Pink, I like pink hair and I'm used to having pink hair -to me it looks strange NOT pink these days though you do get some funny looks and small children may be fascinated with you..."...But look mummy that lady has pink hair.." ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review La Riche Directions: What colour will you choose next??? (348 words)

I have been using Directions dyes for about 10 years now, and am totally happy with it. They have loads of colours, pretty much any colour you would want to dye your hair! They come in small plastic tubs which hold 88ml of dye. The tub is a handy shape, once the lid is off the hole is plenty big enough to dip your tint brush or fingers (gloved!!) in. It has a replace-able screw on lid so if you dont use it all at once, you can keep the rest for next time. I've never had any problems with storing a tub that has been opened - sometimes I only have small streaks coloured in my hair so the tub wont get fully used until about 2-3 months after opening, and the quality of the ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review Bright As A Traffic Light (679 words)

I used to dye my hair with a permanent black hair dye. I then had to get it stripped and it took forever. My hair was then brown, a colour I find extremely boring. It wasn't long before I was looking for more exciting colours to dye my hair. I stumbled across La Riche Directions in Quiggins in Liverpool. Quiggins is an unusual shop where Goths/Emo's buy clothes, make up etc. I asked if they sold hair dye and was given a folder with all the different colours of La Riche Directions hair dye that they stocked. The dye is only semi permanent and is conditioning which means it is much better for your hair than the ammonia filled, permanent dyes I was used to. I ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review La Riche Directions: Being a red-neck... (795 words)

Now first off, I feel the need to say thank you to smudgenskunk, as they inspired me to do this review. It's not exactly the 'everchanging colours of peace1989' but until i get there, this will have to do. So, now i've given smudgenskunk some free advertising, on with the review! I've dyed my hair quite a few colours and have therefore tried quite a few brands-concerning unnatural colours, and i've found this to be the best by far. So, there I was, in blue banana, giggling at the sex toys and marvelling at the weird and wonderful clothes (which i plain just can't afford) when i come across this little pot with a white lid. 'What are Blue Banana ...  Read the complete review
