It was the Easter break and I was bored. Bored with my university work, bored with the daily routine of eat, study, sleep and bored because everyone had gone home and I was left in my little university town. In this time of boredom I decided to add some figurative colour to my life by literally dying my hair pink. --The ... Read the complete review

The colour in this range I am reviewing is Rubine - a dark ruby red. My hair colour is naturally dark brown to black, and I've been striving most of my life to get a beautiful shiny deep red. I'd tried many brands of colour, but none ever came out like the colour on the box, so I decided to go to greater lengths to achieve the ... Read the complete review

As a natural brunette with a naturally flame haired best friend I spent my teenage years green with envy over her long, red locks and tried all sorts of home hair colours. It was a few years later when I was away at uni that I plucked up the courage to really go for it and dye my hair the brightest red I could! I bought ... Read the complete review

I've always yearned for pink hair, but working in an office environment isn't really conducive to originality (sigh!). With Comic Relief coming up I decided it was the time, and got sponsored to dye my hair red for the occasion! Having previously used Directions Pillar Box Red on my boyfriend's hair, I knew that Directions was the brand ... Read the complete review

I really like to make a statement with my appearance, and Directions dye is exactly the kind of product designed for that. The dyes come in 88ml tubs with instructions provided, but nothing else. All the swatches that the manufacturer provides (whether online or in a shop) are for the expected result on bleached / pre-lightened hair, ... Read the complete review

I am a hair dye enthusiast - name a colour and I will have had some variation of it in my hair ! A couple of years ago, I decided I was bored of my white bleached hair, and thought I'd add some colour. I researched dyes, and decided that La Riche Directions seemed to be my best bet. 1. What is Directions dye? Directions ... Read the complete review

I have used La Riche Directions Midnight blue before (which ended up turquoise!) and had just about managed to get it all out when I decided I wanted to go red again. I spent a while looking at colours, and had been advised against Vermillion red as it fades out gingery, which I didnt want. So Pillarbox red seemed the most red...I was ... Read the complete review

Totally disappointing.. I haven't bleached my hair before.. so maybe that was the problem. I was expecting a different result, and I only got a shade of red... Weird thing that only on the pre coloured hair you could see some shades.. On the roots..no chance of covering.. After two-tree washes everything has vanished. Not buying again, definitely. I know it's not a permanent color dye, but still you expect to last longer.

I have recently started using directions because of the price(£3.50 on ebay!), the conditioning element and especially because of the range of tones for each colour on offer and it has been one of the best I have used. I have tried 'poppy red', 'coral red' and am currently using 'vermillion red', I plan to try out 'fire' and 'pillarbox ... Read the complete review

My personal favourite for bright and vivid alternative hair colours is renbow's crazy colour however la riche's directions are the next best bet for me as they are just as good quality and last the same length of time. Directions generally have more colours to offer and have a number of different shades and tones for each. For ... Read the complete review

I am a great purveyor of the hair dye, that is to say I have not seen the natural colour of my hair apart from some root growth in over 20 years. Since then I have been every colour between black and blonde with the exception of green and blue! (I have been orange but that was more to do with trying to become blonde!) I must ... Well, I've tried all sorts of dye to achieve a vivid result. Eventually I came to the conclusion that I would just have to bleach my hair to get the colour I wanted. If you have read previous reviews of mine, you will have seen my desperate attempt to dye and keep my hair red. I first decided to use La Riche Directions after a lot of recommendations about how bright the colour dyes the hair. After having my hair a multitude of colours over the years, I have spent the last year or so letting my natural blonde hair grow out.
