~*~*~ label.m Dry Shampoo ~*~*~
I was given this dry shampoo, as part of a goody bag of label.m products, for Christmas. Before receiving this dry shampoo I had never heard of label.m, since researching I having found out that label.m is an award winning haircare range developed by Toni & Guy. I have tried a couple of dry shampoo's in the past which just resembled talcum powder once sprayed onto the hair. I don't use dry shampoo very often, as I do prefer to wash my hair, but there is the odd occasion when I just can not be bothered to go through the hour and a half routine of washing my hair, especially if I am going swimming the following day. Please see below for my thoughts on this product...
~*~*~ What is it? ~*~*~
This is dry shampoo by label.m which is designed to refresh hair between washes. The dry shampoo comes in a grey, metal can with a black plastic lid. The applicator is a press down button, similar to that of a hair spray. On the front of the can is the label.m logo, what it is (dry shampoo) and the amount of product the can holds (200ml).
Shake can well and hold upright approximately 10-15cm from dry hair. Apply evenly over hair, taking care to protect eyes and clothing or fabrics from spray.
~*~*~ Price and Availability ~*~*~
You can purchase this dry shampoo from the label.m website (www.labelm.com), or from Toni & Guy hair salon's. You can purchase the 200ml can for £10.95, or the 50ml can for £3.50.
~*~*~ My Thoughts ~*~*~
My hair is extremely thick and long, which means it takes a pain staking one and half hours to wash, blow-dry and straighten my hair. I usually wear my hair up most days which means I can get away with only washing my hair 3 times a week. Sometimes if my hair wash day happens to fall on a day when I will be swimming in the evening, usually a Friday, then I try and stick it out and have greasy hair for the day. I work in an office with two other people and don't really come into contact with the general public, so I don't mind it looking a bit greasy. However, anything that can make it look less greasy is certainly a plus. As mentioned above, I was given this as a gift, so a couple of days later I decided to let my hair get a bit greasy so I could test out this dry shampoo.
Applying this dry shampoo is very simple, you remove the plastic lid and spray on to the hair. Make sure you shake the can very well and hold it at least 10cm away from the hair. I have, on quite a few occasions, not shaken the can before use and a white powdery substance has covered my hair leaving it looking worse than before. So, if you are applying it correctly you should see a light mist come out of the can onto your hair. The spray comes out very quickly, so do bear this in mind when spraying. After spraying this onto my hair I usually give it a quick brush. I was quite surprised on how much better my hair looked after using this dry shampoo, the greasiness vanished and I was able to leave the house not feeling like a grease ball. I do wear my hair up, which I think hides grease well, so I probably wouldn't wear my hair down after using this as still may look slightly greasy. I have only ever left it a day after using this product so I don't know how long this product would hide grease for and to be honest I didn't really want to test it. I wouldn't say my hair looked freshly washed after using this product but it certain helps make the grease less visible.
This product does not have any fragrance to it, which is a good thing. When I was small my mum would sometimes use talcum powder as a dry shampoo and I cannot stand the smell of it. I have been using this dry shampoo on and off since Christmas and there seems to still be loads left. I am going to get the handbag sized one, as I think this will be quite handy to take on holiday.
One of the problems I have encountered in the past is I have the label.m shine spray and the can is identical to this dry shampoo...and you guessed it! I have spray shine spray onto my greasy hair thinking it was dry shampoo...arrrghhh!!! It was terrible! I did try to redeem it by then spray dry shampoo but the damage was already done so I had to wash my hair. The other problem is me forgetting to shake the can, this is totally my fault and it does not reflect on how good this product is, it actually reflex's on how much of an air head I am :).
~*~*~ Would I Recommend? ~*~*~
Yes I would recommend this product as it has gotten me out a few greasy situations. I don't use it religiously, but when I do use it, it always works a treat. So if you are like me and can't always be bothered to wash your hair then I would say this product is for you. £10.95 is quite pricey but the products lasts a long time and only a little amount is required. I am going to give this dry shampoo 5 out of 5 dooyoo stars.
Thank you for taking the time to read my review :o)
Whilst I try to have a shower every day sometimes it can be quite difficult especially if I wake up late for University and have to quickly fire clothes on. I'd had a lot of people recommend me Dry Shampoo so I decided to try this one that I found in Boots. I spent around £10 and the can lasted me quite a while.
To apply you just shake and spray on to your head giving it the look that it's been washed. It looks so good that I've started carrying it around so that I can quickly get it out if I spot myself and my hair looks greasy or unwashed. The price seemed a little steep for me however at that moment in time I had money to spare and went shopping crazy so splashed out on it, although I am informed that you can buy a cheaper version which I didn't see.
If you're wanting just a quick touch up to your hair to give it a 'refreshed' look then this is definitely for you and it's very easy to use. This should never be used as a full replacement from washing your hair however it does give it the 'washed' look making you feel less conscious if you've gone out without washing your hair.
I'd recommend this to both girls and guys as both genders need to wash their hair right? It works and is reasonably cheap if you get the smaller can. It does give you the refreshed look and if you don't wash your hair daily because you don't want to 'overwash' your hair then this is perfect for you.
I am a huge fan of dry shampoo, for me it is one of the best discoveries I have ever come across and I have tried a lot of different ones, my favourite being No Drought from Lush which I have written about in another review here on Dooyoo.
Then I got a can of dry shampoo from label.m who are my favourite hair care brand, for me they can do no wrong and I hope this dry shampoo wouldn't be letting me down. The can itself is a silvery grey colour, some say quite masculine in design, I disagree and think it makes it look every inch the designer brand that it is and it looks fantastic sat among other brands. The black lid finishing off the sleek design.
My hair can get quite greasy and I try not to wash it everyday day, every other day or every third day if I can and the discovery of dry shampoo has made life much easier and gives me that extra day of not having to wash my hair and not having to constantly check to see whether or not my hair looks awful. I find that if I wash my hair too much it can become quite dry, particularly at the ends, so finding that perfect balance of not over-washing has been quite a challenge.
What they say - "label.m Dry Shampoo refreshes hair in-between shampooing using natural Rich Starch to disperse oil. Also works as a brilliant matt texturiser for a soft touch, velvet finish to the hair".
If you haven't heard about them before, used an of their products or even seen them, label.m has many award winning fashion-inspired haircare products and their range is developed by professional stylists under the creative eye Toni Mascolo & Sacha Mascolo-Tarbuck. The history behind the company can be found on the label.m website if you wish to read more about them. For me, their hair care range is fantastic and I have used quite a lot of products from it. Whether you want a shampoo, conditioner, a treatment or a product to create a particular style or such as a mousse, spray or cream you can find something from label.m. All of the products are separated out into four different categories which are known as 'The 4 C's' which stand for - Cleanse, Condition, Create and Complete and under each category will find further products, for example - if you go to condition you will see 13 different options of conditioning products to choose from, all of which are designed for one issue or another.
So I choose a dry shampoo and The label.m dry shampoo for me now rivals Lush in how good it is. This product is an aerosol can and the spray nozzle is quite powerful, as soon as you press it, you get a wide coverage of your hair, so that means you only need to press it twice at the very most to ensure you get the bits you need to spray. As soon as you disperse the spray from the can, the first thing you notice is the lack of which gunk which clings to your hair and head and takes forever to brush out and leaves your clothes looking like you have a serious case of dandruff. Instead it touches your hair, you massage it in as usual and then brush it out and that is all you need to do, it is so lightweight that it quickly absorbs oil and leaves your hair looking as though it has just been washed and dried.
There is also no fragrance to this Dry Shampoo, the one thing I started to dislike about other brands was being able to notice other people wearing them via their fragrance and it made me self-conscious. This doesn't make me feel self-conscious and once I have brushed my hair through, I love how soft and smooth my hair feels and how good it looks, just like I have washed and dried it. It also doesn't hamper my attempts to straighten my hair, my GHDs glide through my hair just like they do after I have freshly washed my hair.
I have absolutely loved this dry shampoo and wouldn't hesitate to purchase it again. It costs £10.95 for a 200ml can and you can also purchase a handbag version which is a 50ml can for £3.50 both of which are exceptional good value for money and you can purchase it from the label.m website and places like Lookfantastic all of whom feature these items and many more from the range.
