      Advantages

      Disadvantages

      A good buy!

I normally use hair gel for when I want a really neat ponytail style.

      -The tub-
The gel is in a fruit green tub like the rest of fructis range! The tub is fairly big and chunky but because of the high price you do want to get a lot for your money, the tub contains 150ml which for us girls will last ages as it's not something we use a lot but for men it would last about a month (which is how long my boyfriend has his for before refreshing).

      -The gel and application-
The gel itself looks like water, its fairly runny as you can pour it out which makes it look quite suspicious, the gel I put on too hold down fly-aways, the gel is very fruity smelling (smells like a hair salon)and clear, it isn't anywhere as sticky as other brands and is very easy to apply and the tiniest amounts makes a difference!

      -The results-
One thing I found was the hair gel was actually pretty much invisible, it didn't make my hair look wet or greasy and the smell stayed! for my more daring hairstyles I found this along with hairspray made my hair stay in place all day and night

So yeah, For a hair gel it is pretty amazing, its fairly expensive but I'd say it is a really good buy!

        Advantages

        Disadvantages

A good product for shorter hair

I've used this gel before when I couldn't find anything better and was in need. It was alright but not my favourite! It does have quite a strong hold, but it needs to be applied to the right hair. When I straighten mine, it works quite well, but it wouldn't work on thicker hair as the gel feels quite heavy in itself.

It costs around £3.50 for a 150ml tub. The tub is translucent green so you can slightly see through it. It has the Garnier Fructis logo on the front and certainly stands out on the front.

The lid unscrews very easily to reveal the gel. The gel has quite a thick and sticky consistency compared to most other gels. Due to this it gives quite a wet look too. I don't particularly like the wet look so it didn't appeal to me. I apply the gel to dry hair, preferably when it has been straightened.

The gel itself is clear but gives your hair a wet look and seems to darken it a bit. It also adds quite a bit of weight to the hair due to the fact it has a maximum hold factor. It does hold hair quite well, but only once it begins to settle in. At first, it simply adds a lot of weight to your hair and makes it droop a bit. If you have slightly longer hair, it's harder to style and you may need to keep touching it up if you want to stick it up more.

The smell of the gel is really nice though and it's quite fruity, being from the Fructis range. I personally don't like using it or the look it gives my hair, but it is quite a good product for short and thin hair, to give it a very good hold - but I wouldn't recommend it for other hair!

        Thanks for reading!

        :)

Garnier Fructis Style Gel Hard Glue

        --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
        Introduction
        --------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Previously, every day was bad hair day for me. Different types of gel have passed, but none brought the desired result. Think especially of the mega-pots of the cheaper brands, I usually didn't see the point in more expensive care. Until I got for my birthday, a joke of my friends, a package with an expensive shampoo, aftershave, deodorant and Garnier Fructis Style Gel. And I'm now convinced of the usefulness of spending a litte bit more ona maintenance product.

        --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
        General Information
        --------------------------------------------------------------------------------

        Brand: Garnier Fructis
        Type: Gel
        Type: Hard glue
Audience: People with hair that model is difficult to bring
        Contents: 150ml

        --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
        Packing
        --------------------------------------------------------------------------------

It is a small pot that looks solid and it is. I have a number of times dropped or knocked over and not a scratch to be seen. The tub is green in colour and seamlessly integrates with other Garnier Fructis products. On the cover is a boy with a very extreme style and I have not yet succeeded to do this. In addition there is a space reserved for mandatory information (ingredients, barcode, brand, type etc.).

        --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
        Effect
        --------------------------------------------------------------------------------

There are several types of gel within the Fructis brand. This is one designed for extreme hairstyles, perfect for my thick hair. I do not use it for extreme hairstyles, my head is just not suitable for it, but because it is a firm gel you will get your hair in just in her model throughout. Of course I have ever tried for fun to create an extreme effect and this worked fine.

        --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
        Use
        --------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Everyone uses a gel in a different way. The one on dried hair, the other on wet hair and another slammed a random amount on his hair, no matter what state it is. I prefer wet hair, then the styling is in my opinion, easier. You take a small amount from the jar in your hands and bring it your hair with your fingers into model.

        --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
        Fragrance
        --------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I am pleasantly surprised by the scent of this gel. I'm still not a star in describing a smell, but It's not a bad smell. Only after applying the gel you smell the aroma, a mild sweet, fresh scent, like apples. The smell stays with me half a day hanging and I can see it as very pleasant. A fresh scent around can never be bad.

        --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
        Duration
        --------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Because here and there I've received compliments about my new haircut take me become an intensive user Fructis gel. I do last this gel about three weeks, but as I indicated, I use it intensively.

        --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
        Test
        --------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The Fructis advertise with: "Your hair will sit all day in model. Well I have been using the gel for a while now and I can say it works most days. When it rains you can see the effect on your hair, but wind is harmless and even long days of working and going for drinks afterwards, is no problem. So I would say the advert is rigt.

        --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
        Opinion
        --------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I am positive about this gel and the solution to the problem shown in the introduction indicated. The assertion of the advertising is correct, it stays nicely in model regardless of the circumstances. It is pleasant to use and easy to bring my hair into model. A must for anyone who want an extreme hairstyle or for people who need a reliable, hardening gel.

          Advantages

          Disadvantages

A good hair gel for thin hair, which smells great but has a very wet look and dries quickly

I have been using this hair gel for a while until I found a newer and better product. It doesn't do a great job with my hair but it has a wonderful smell and gives a rock solid hold. I lately straightened my hair and it worked a lot better as my hair was somewhat thinner and straighter, which made it easier to shape.

The gel comes in a tub, which is a lot better than the squeezy bottle as it's easier to stick your fingers in and get out some gel rather than having to hold up a bottle and squeeze it. It's part of the Extreme range and can be bought at Tesco for £2.80. There is currently a promotional offer on where you get 2 tubs for £3.00, which is a great deal. The tub is 150ml, which isn't bad and it will last you weeks, if not months. You don't need to apply a lot unless you are trying to pull off some wacky hairstyle. Too much gel just looks greasy.

The gel has a very powerful fruity smell like everything else in the fructis range. The gel gives a wet-look, which I don't particularly like, but you can use it and rub it in with a towel to reduce this effect but still be able to style your hair.

It's lovely to work with but seems to dry on your hair very quickly so you must style it immediately. Once it dries, it turns your hair rock solid, so it will not lose its shape. I don't like the way it does this and the wet-look it does, but it's ideal if you have thin hair and like the wet-look. It's ideal to flatten hair and gel it, as it has quite a heavy feel, which makes your hair go down anyway. It's not ideal for thick hair, as it simply doesn't work. I'd recommend it if you have thin hair and want to try styling it well, as this will keep a strong hold throughout the day and it smells wonderful.

          Thanks for reading,

          Dan ©

          Advantages

          Disadvantages

Great product for wet look extreme styling

I don't personally use this on my hair but I use it to style my fella's who has a mohican (is that spelt right?), nothing dramatic just funky. As he has only just recently changed to this hair style we have tried a few products to get the right look. So I use this prouct as well as an extra hold hairspray.

First we tried this on dry hair which I found useless and clumped up when applying it. I then tried it on his hair when it was wet and I got a much better result. I found I needed a generous amount of the stuff to get his mohican (about 2 inches long, 2 inches wide) to stay up. The problem with this is that it takes a while to dry and still drops a little at the back where hair is much thicker. So i find the best thing to do is to dry his hair on the lowest setting on my hair dryer. For extra hold I use a strong hairspray on it too.

The finished result is that it stays up all day, there is no flexability though as it dries pretty hard and crunchy as I call it, but thats the way he likes it. It is non-greasy and washes out easy enough. It also contains vitamin B3 and Pro-vitamin B5 to help protect his hair which is great as he really doesn't look after it!

I don't think it is very good for dry styling but I guess it may depend on the style.

It is in a green plastic, recylable tub with a black screw on lid. The gel is clear, feels sticky to touch and smells quite fruity with a hint of alcohol. It is roughly £3 for 150ml, depending where you purchase it from. It is available from most supermarkets, and retailers selling styling products.

It does the job for him but like I said I don't think it's great on dry hair but that could be because his hair is fairly dry. I find a styling wax called Stargazer to be the best product for dry hair styling.

            Advantages

            Disadvantages

            Good gel

I have used this gel now for several years and it is the best i have ever used as it is strong, durable, smells nice and can be re worked when water is added to your hair. It lasts solidly all day and is even still in the right position when waking up in the morning.

This gel comes in a unique translucent green tub which you cannot miss. It is easily accessable as the lid screw right of making it easy for you to scoop out with your hands.

It has a strong fruity smell which you will get compliments of all day long.

It gives a wet look and works best on dry or damp hair.

The only disadvantage is that it does not seem to last very long, this may be as i have quiete long hair and style it atleast twice a day.

I would reccomend this gel to everyone but most teenage boys.

            Advantages

            Disadvantages

If you're going for the wet look you cant go wrong with this.

Until about a year ago I was an avid fan of Garnier Fructis Hard Gel but now I have to say I'm definitely not a fan of this gel. I find that it doesn't hold my hair as well as the surf hair that they also do.

The gel itself comes in a green tub that I believe contains 150ml and normally costs close to £3. It has a dark green lid which I believe is what Garnier use to distinguish between the different gels. This one is categorised as extreme and will give you the wet look.

You don't need to put much in your hand to be able to use it and I found that a tub would normally last me a couple of months. I found it is best to put it through your hair when it is slightly wet. That way I found it to be more manageable.

As the name suggests, it gives off very much of a wet look which, if its your thing, can look good. I personally prefer the more natural look and this is part of the reason I stopped using it. When I had a type of hair that suited that, it was very good. I used to have spikes in my hair and it would make them very hard and they would not fall down for the whole day so in that respect it is good. It also stayed in overnight and did not just flake away.

The main thing that annoys me about it is the consistency of the gel. When you first put it on your hands it feels like some sort of paste and is really sticky. I found it to be even more sticky if your hair is completely dry. I also used to spend a good 2 or 3 minutes washing it off my hands. The stuff just doesn't come off!

Overall its not my cup of tea but if you're going for the wet look and don't want your hair to move then this is the gel for you.

Please be aware this review may be similar to the one for Garnier Surf Hair as I have reviewed that as well

              Advantages

              Disadvantages

A good gel for the wet look, that works pretty well

I used to use this gel and wasn´t happy with it because it was a bit too wet for me. Nevertheless, the smell is really fruity and yummy (not like I have tasted it), and it does do a good job.

It comes in a small green tub that is translucent. You screw open the lid and get a small amount on your hands. After giving your hands a good rub-together, you build up a very sticky and gooey texture. You apply this to your hair by ruffling it in and then styling it how you wish. It works best with thin hair.

It is very easy to work with if you dry your hair with a hairdryer a bit or towel it. I know this sounds stupid because it is meant to give a wet look, but it is just too wet to style properly with. If not, you can apply it to dry hair and it will work better too.

The smell is delicious if you don´t like how it works. Therefore, buy a tub and sit there smelling it=) But seriously.. The smell is very fruity and will last the whole day, like you are some kind of fruit tree =)

              Thanks for reading,

                Advantages

                Disadvantages

This gives a very strong hold, but only works on certain hair types and gives a very wet look

Before finding my perfect hair gel, I tried out this Garnier Fructis style hard gel. It doesn't work well with my hair at all, but I shall suggest later on what hair to use it with. However, it looks cool, works well and gives a strong hold on the right type of hair and right length too! It also smells very fruity and fresh but not too strong, giving it a lovely aroma.

It comes in a small 150ml tub. A green plastic label round it gives it a lovely look, as the pot is translucent. It has the Garnier design with the logo and type of gel it is. The size of the tub is pretty small and compact.

The lid is a darker green with a picture on a round white label of some wack-ass man with crazy long spiked up hair. The rating for this hair gel is 'extreme', as Garnier give their products different ratings, and this had the strongest.

I thought it would work with my hair, but it turned out that it didn't work at all. The texture is thick and very wet, and this effect is brought onto your hair.

To apply, apply a small amount to begin to your hands, and rub together to form a gooey substance. Then, make sure you are applying it to damp hair as it seems to work best, and is suggested so on the tub. Then rub it in thoroughly and go crazy with your hands. I find that the towel trick works well, where you use a towel to get rid of the excess wet look to leave your hair standing tall with a drier and lighter look.

Personally, I don't like the look of this gel on my hair as it makes it look really wet. I prefer a drier look, so I either use a towel or another hair gel all together. It gives your hair a strong hold, but needs to dry a bit before it gives my hair that strong hold it needs. Therefore, the towel trick helps to get rid of excess gel and help dry it a bit, whilst keeping some in your hair to style it with.

At £3.99 for a 150ml tub, it wasn't a bad price; however I have found better ones that work well for my hair. I would suggest that you use this gel with thin hair that isn't too short but not too long either. Medium length thin hair works perfectly with this, but it gives thick hair a good hold too. Remember, it will give quite a wet look.

The smell is extremely nice, giving out a very fruity smell. When I take a deep wiff, I can smell mango, lemon, orange and I seem to smell pineapple too. Whatever is in this, it gives out a lovely aroma, which provides a fresh feeling when using it, and gives out a lovely smell to all those around you when you go out.

Overall, it's a good product but not for me. It works well and holds hair strongly, but gives a very wet look unless you use a towel on it or something to make it look a bit drier. At £3.99 for a 150ml tub, the price isn't bad as it should last you a good month depending on what length your hair is and its thickness too.

                Thanks for reading,

                  Advantages

                  Disadvantages

A real steal when on offer.....

A call into Boots saw me buy on impulse Fructis Style Glue, an extreme hair styling gel from Garnier. The price? £3.99 for a 150 ml tube. This to me seemed a little expensive but it was on a two for the price of one so all in all it was still cheaper than any of the Shockwaves products on offer making this a real find.

Actual Garnier products are widely available from supermarkets and large chemists. Personally I have never tried any of their styling products before after being exceptionally disappointed with their shampoo’s and conditioners in the past.

Fructis Style is easily identified on the shelf, coming in a lime green tube that draws the eye. The marketing spiel that comes with the gel states that this gel contains fruit micro waxes that will help to provide extreme, gravity defying styles that are rock hard.

After washing and drying my hair I took the tube in hand and squeezed a blob of the gel onto my hand. Without reading the instructions on the back I rubbed the gel between my palms before moving to apply it to my hair. It was when my hands were parted the actual strength of this gel started to become apparent. My hands were starting to stick together and the gel had a snot like consistency making it hard to apply at first and indeed most of it slopped onto my forehead. Not a good start!

On second application it was easier as I applied the gel straight to my hair and then used my fingertips to style the spikes in my hair. Due to the thickness of the gel, styling was a breeze and much easier than using wax or a mousse. Not only did the gel dry in minutes, the spikes were rock hard and in no danger of moving for well over 8 hours. At no time did style change and to say I was impressed was an understatement.

So, this is a superb gel. It is very easy to style hair using this once you have got used to the consistency, it leaves hair feeling crispy to the touch with a rock hard style and it has a fantastic smell. As soon as the gel leaves the tube a very strong green apple aroma is released and this remains for hours after application.

Once the gel has dried I could touch the spikes without any of the product rubbing off onto my hands.

After using the gel in the evening I went to bed and awoke to find none of the white flakes or residue common with other styling brands and washing out was no trouble at all. I’ve now been using the gel for nearly 5 days and I can safely say I won’t be using anything else from now on.

My hair at the moment is approx 2.5 inches long and the spikes stayed upright. I can see this being as effective on longer hair due to the amazing strength.

Hard Glue may be a touch on the expensive side for a gel but trust me it is worth every penny. It smells wonderful, makes styling easy and holds hair in place for well over 10 hours at a time. If you need a good strong styling products do not look any further than this product. It is the best.

                  HIGHLY RECOMMENDED

Thanks for taking the time to read and rate.
