... it was on special offer, and decided I would use it the minute I got through the door! The dye was Garnier Movida, one I had not tried before, but I've used other Garnier dyes and found them to be OK, so I had no hesitations about using this. The dye is a tone on tone colourant which contains no ammonia and covers greys. The dye is semi-permanent, so the results should last 6-8 weeks. There are 16 shades available, from blondes to purples, and browns to blacks, so you should be able to find something to suit you...more

Laboratoire Garnier Movida: Good dye, annoying bottle (800 words)

My hair is naturally what I would describe as 'dark blonde' but I have been dying it dark brown for several years now. When I was in the hairdressers recently, the hairdresser commented that my hair was very fair underneath. I told her that I am naturally a dark blonde/mousy brown colour, but she showed me with a second mirror, and my hair did look very blonde underneath where I obviously hadn't dyed it properly. If I thought that was bad though, there was worse to come! She parted my hair at the side and lifted the top section up. Along the roots of my hair was a bright blonde stripe, the rest of my hair being dark brown! How I had not noticed this before, I don't know,  Read the complete review

Plummy! (574 words)

There's not a lot of choice when you're buying semi-permanent hair dyes. Henna makes you look like a greying German woman gone orange in desperation. Many other brands don't have attractive shades. In my opinion this is one of the best options, and I've used it 75% of the time when I want to have a darker hair colour for the winter. I've used Mahoghany and Plum, but have no experience of the other colours. When it comes to setting up, the procedure is a bit fiddly. The cheap plastic gloves provided are always tricky to get on. Plastic bags would probably work better. You have to mix the two bottles together to activate the dye. This ...  Read the complete review

Laboratoire Garnier Movida: gives you that dyed hair look (150 words)

Movida promises the earth and comes up with nothing special at all! I can only vouch for the auburn colourant - I have not been brave (or stupid) enough to try any of the others! If you want a completly unnatural look then movida is for you! It gave me a dull dyed look which for a tone on tone colurant was not what I was expecting. It is very easy to apply you get the usual step by step instructions telling you what to do, the usual naff gloves that you always end up putting your fingers throw and a tiny bottle of conditioner ( that smelt great) I will say two good things about it - it covered my grey hairs well and it does not drip! This is not on my I ...  Read the complete review

I saw a report in the press recently about a woman who claims she had a huge illergic reaction to this hair colourant. As for me I thought this hair colourant was brilliant. I had never used any before and went only on colour, as it depicted the exact copper gold colour I wanted. It was easy to apply, did not stain my skin at all and gave a nice even coverage when the instructions were followed properly. I thought the colour looked really natural actually and a lot of people thought it was my actual colour...perhaps that's just me. I do have sensitive skin though and I had no problems...my scalp itched a little bit, but it does with wash in wash out ones ...  Read the complete review

Laboratoire Garnier Movida: Natea - Extra Light Colourant (126 words)

This new product is so much more satisfactory than the normal blonde colours that have been around for years. It lightens the hair to a pretty shade of blonde, a choice of 3 different depths, doesn't dry the hair out and does leave it shiny and easy to manage. I'm not sure what they have put in it to make it so, but they mention a fruit essence. Whatever it is, it works and means you don't have to resort to the bleach! The only downside is that after a couple of months it takes on a slightly brassy look if you have been in the sun, but it's easy and quick to use and very economical. ...  Read the complete review
