I recently bought a bottle of this Lee Stafford Argan Oil Miracle Shine Spray as I was looking for something to make my dull hair look healthy again. I actually saw this recommended in a glossy women''s magazine which stated the benefits of argan oil for hair. At GBP10.99 this cost a little more than I''m used to paying for hair care products but I was of the understanding that this brand has a strong reputation and I was also convinced by the magazine recommendation. The product comes in a 200ml or 127g sized canister. It''s similar to an aerosol hair spray can and has a spray action pump button on the top which releases a fine mist of product. The can is printed with product information so it includes full details about what argan oil is and why it''s good for your hair. The brand relate a story about how a certain culture of women in Morocco have used argan oil to soften their hair for centuries and now this secret has been discovered by the rest of the world. The brand have actually cultivated their own formula with the oil which they call the ''Pro-Argan complex''. It is designed to create a "light weight, silicone-free glossing mist". Directions for use are quite straightforward - you simply mist the spray over your hair. This is easy to do and should be done at the end of styling your hair to create a shiny finish or before brushing if you want to smooth out hair and create a more natural look. The nozzle produces a very fine mist but the jet of spray is quite sharp so I recommend holding the bottle about 12 inches away from your hair. The product has a gorgeous, distinctive fragrance which is like coconut and brazil nuts and which is a natural scent rather than chemically. Less is more with this product. I have dry bleached hair and even I need just a little bit of this spray. Too much spray leaves your hair looking greasy and lank. Unfortunately it''s quite easy to overdo it. When it''s not overdone the spray creates a high gloss, silky finish. It''s similar to a serum but not sticky and not heavy in the hair. I would only use this once between washes though or it ends up being too much. I would probably buy this again although I do feel it''s too expensive. When applied correctly it does leave my hair looking really healthy and full of life and light. Available at stores like Boots and Superdrug.
I love Lee Stafford products; they work really well and smell divine. I have recently started using hair oil due to the battering of bleach and heat my hair takes and it has made a real difference. As I was shopping I noticed this was on offer, buy one get one half price, so though I'd give it a whirl.
As my hair is bleached it doesn't shine as much as darker hair would, which can often feel like my hair just isn't healthy. I do like a shine spray but my thick hair soaks product in too much and ends up looking greasy so I do have to be careful.
Firstly I was taken aback by the price, almost £10! I don't feel I skimp on my hair but for a shine spray I did think that was a few pounds too much. But I was treating myself so I thought I'd go with it!
First use was a nice experience, it smells wonderful and gave a lovely shine to my hair. It felt light and didn't feel greasy to touch later on. I have had more shine from Lee Stafford's ordinary hair shine spray, however this gave a more natural shine, which I did prefer.
After a full day of work my hair still looked shiny and no flyaway hairs had sprouted up which was a bonus! I glossed over the hair again the following day and it still didn't' feel weighed down or greasy so that was a real plus point.
A little does go a long way so the price might not be so bad if it lasts quite some time. The product washed out easily but it didn't feel like it had done anything to my hair in terms of improving the condition, not that it claims to, however you would expect something extra for the price!
I have, however, found out it's lovely on beards.... husbands not mine! A quick spray and he had a lovely glossy beard that was far nicer than his usual lumberjack look!
I possibly would buy this again, but would make sure it was on offer first, I don't feel it's a necessary purchase, definitely more of a luxury one. I'm not 100% convinced it's worth such a high price either, I don't think it works miracles and for what is really just a quick fix, rather than a genuine hair improver, I wouldn't really want to pay this much.
