Advantages: Smooths and some shine
Disadvantages: Expensive for what it delivers
I picked this up from Boots earlier in the year when I had my hair cut short. I was after a serum to take away frizz and smooth my hair- I had heard about Moroccan oil and that it was supposed to be nourishing to the hair. Lee Stafford claims that Moroccan Argan Oil is nourished with Pro-Argan complex, a special blend of ingredients which help to create soft, shiny hair, leaving it in superb condition without any product build up. This product can be used on damp hair or sparingly over dry hair. This was priced at £11.99 for a 50ml bottle, so I was a little put off by the price at first, but I assumed that this would be superior product due the ingredients.
The packaging looks like a standard serum and there is a pump dispenser for distribution of the product - one pump dispenses around a 10 pence sized amount of serum. The oil is colourless and is heavily fragranced with a masculine scent - I like this fragrance and I think it smells like a salon product. The oil is quite silky to the touch, not tacky or sticky and is easily to rub over damp hair. I find that 2 pumps is enough to cover my shoulder length hair.
I then dry my hair normally and I find that my hair is a little smoother compared to when I haven't used this - but it is still frizzy with flyaways. I then have to use another pump of this oil to apply to my dry hair to tame my the frizz. Like with all oils, you HAVE to use this sparingly otherwise your hair will look lank and greasy. Reapplication of this does help tame to frizzies a little, but I still get the bits of hair sticking up on the crown of my head. I would say my hair looks a little shiner when I use this, but nothing dramatic. When this is used sparingly, I don't have to wash my hair any more frequently as it doesn't grease up or feel sticky - and I have oily hair. Thankfully, I don't think that there is any product build up from this oil.
I have been using this every time I dry and style my hair since January (8 months) and I have used just over half of the bottle - so I suppose it does last a good while, which helps soften the blow of the price.
Overall, this a decent product, but no way is it worth £12! It works just as good as Frizz Ease or any other serum I have used in terms of taming frizz and smoothing, which were cheaper. The positives are that this is not sticky or tacky on the skin or hair and it smells nice. I can't say that the overall condition of my hair has improved since using this, either. I won't be buying it again and don't recommend it unless you have money to burn.
