Advantages: Price, Smell, Pretty Packaging, Volume When Used Correctly
Disadvantages: Dries hair, Unreliabble Packaging, Trouble Styling, No Volume When Used Normally
I never stick to one hair mousse- I love to try every brand I can. I hope to find a perfect mousse one day. After using my James Brown London mousse (which I was quite impressed with) I thought I'd try Lee Stafford's Double Blow Mousse.
*Packaging*
The mousse comes in a shiny pink can. At the top the is the mousse dispenser. On the front there is a brief description about the mousse and what it does. On the back there is lots of information about usage and ingredients and warnings. There is a lid over the dispenser which I don't have anymore because I accidentally dropped the can and the lid shattered. So I wouldn't say the packaging is very reliable, although it does look very nice.
*Using The Product*
To use this product you're meant to apply to wet hair and blow dry.. then apply to dry hair and give it another blow dry. This is meant to give the double volume. This has quite annoyed me, because ANY mousse would give double volume if you applied it like that. If you apply it normally (applying once when wet) it would just be like any other mousse, so it's not really a 'double volume' mousse naturally. I find that this product is more runny than other mousses I've tried. You need to give the can a very good shake before application to make the product somewhat thick.
*The Results*
After using this product as the instructions say, I was left with more volumised hair, but my hair looked and felt very dry. When I used this product without applying to dry hair as well as wet hair, my hair had no more volume than it does naturally. Either way I use this product, my hair ends up very stiff and difficult to style.
*Conclusion*
For a professional haircare brand, I am very disappointed with this because I usually love Lee Stafford products. It does smell very nice though with the Lee Stafford signature smell. And for a more upmarket brand I think the price is quite good (£4.49 at Boots). I wouldn't buy this product again because for me it didn't work and I definitely wouldn't recommend it to anyone else. However, try it if you wish because different hair types react differently to different products and it might work amazingly for you, but for me, it just didn't do the trick.
Summary: Not for me.
