Lee Stafford Messed Up Spray Wax 150ml ~
currently £5.49 at Boots and in the three for two mix and match
As with other Lee Stafford products this comes in a very bright and distinct pink tin, all of the branding is picked out in white on the bottle and the bar code is a funky mix of aqua, green and purple. The ingredients are all on the back of the tin however even with sensitive skin I have never had issues with any of the Lee Stafford products that I have used. (I used to have a house mate that did once though so do be wary)...
The product is one that can seem to be a bit costly, however I find that a tin does last a good long while, and I get great results from it. To use it spray it onto your hair to get the effortless 'messy' look. You can spray it on your roots to get extra volume. After spraying your hair can be teased to achieve the effect that you want, and after it has 'dried' it leaves the hair silky and beautifully shiny.
I have masses of hair, which I about mid back length and I find the product has a good hold that will last or around 4 or 5 hours before I need to reapply.
As with other Lee Stafford products this has not been tested on animals, and it has the wonderful scent of the other products - kind of sweet and candy like. Almost good enough to eat. I highly recommend this product as it works so well and washes out so easily.
This really is the best wax I've ever used! Really easy to use, and doesn't leave my hair all "clunky". I have wavy hair, just past my shoulders and it doesn't weight my hair down and leave it all greasy looking. its easy to lightly spray on, and build up the amount until you get the style that you are looking for. I tend to put my hair upside down and just spray, then tip it back and fix a bit, but I like the bad head look. Lovely eye catching bottle, pretty, pink and girlie. Not boy wax, though my boyfriend does seem to think its pretty good too! Also, it has saved towels at home from being covered in left over wax from the tubs. Really just a brilliant product, I don't know why spray wax wasn't invented before now! I definitely won't be using anything else from now on!!!
I really like the bed head look achieved by alexa chung, ellie goulding and pixie geldof. I didn't want to opt for hair gel or wax that would be way too heavy for my fine hair. I have just above shoulder length hair with layers and wanted to achieve that messy bob look. I came across this product whilst browsing the shelves at boots. I had not seen a spray wax before and I was intrigued. Being a spray I assumed it would give me more control and would be lighter on the hair.
I purchased this product for £5.49 from Boots for 150ml. They currently have a 3 for 2 on Lee Stafford product at Boots( they always have em' when you don't need anything!) The bottle is a fuschia pink metal can and goes with my pink room!
The spray wax is meant to give you messy hair, whilst also adding lustre and shine to hair. To use you spray on dry hair and liberally scrunch hair. As this is a spray, you have so much more control as to where you want volume or definition of layers. I spray near the roots to lift the hair and add volume. And then once all over and just push up hair with my hands. Sometimes I take a portion of hair and spray underneath. I work with each portion of hair until I have done my whole head. This is a hairdressers trick that she showed me. I don't generally want a 'messy look' like russel brand, but more choppy yet pretty like alexa chung. I get so many positive remarks from friends when I go out. They all want to know my style secret. The spray dissolves in hair so the wax also provides flexible hold. You can play with your hair during the day and it won't lose volume. When I want to redefine my shape during the day I just use my hands to push up hair, which works amazingly(no need to re spray.) As typical with wax, use too much and your hair will go greasy. I can get away with the spray wax in my hair for three days at most, which is a great achievement in my eyes. Another thing I love is the shine this product gives my hair. My hair also feels light, bouncy and healthy.
I cannot enthuse about this product enough. It also has a sweet fragrance so your hair will look and smell great. The can has lasted me about 7 months as I use three times a week. It is great value for money and is a product that I continue to buy.
If you have a short crop and longing for a product which leaves your hair in a great style which lasts all day WITHOUT weighing your hair down, then this is the product for you.
I was looking for a wax which was going to leave my hair with a good style all day long so I didn't have to keep re applying and re styling throughout the day, so I gave this one a go.
I washed, dried and styled my hair as usual, then sprayed the wax.
I thought with it being a spray product it would have a really wet texture, leaving my hair looking greasy and as though I have put gel on my hair. But much to my surprise it never. It left my hair with the exact style that I wanted and with a great texture and I just felt so confident knowing that after months of trying the style I put my hair in would last all day.
This product, unfortunately, wasn't found in my room like the other Lee Stafford product, but was recommended to me by my (amazing) hairdresser, after I had my hair cut into a shorter bob, and I was after a more bed hair style, and my hairdresser said to use a wax to style it, and recommended using the Lee Stafford Messed Up Spray Wax.
The packaging was in a hot pink can, with a usual press down lid, like most hair sprays, and it is really noticeable in shops, as the bright pink is really eye catching, but I would think that Lee Stafford's hair care is mostly aimed at the younger audience, because of the colour and style of writing appeals to them, but it is suitable for every one. On the front of the can, there is some silver writing, which states that the product is "LigHT SPRaY WaX", "MeSSY, cOOL hAir in a caN" and "AmaZing on ShorT to lonG, strAight to CuRly hAir" And the Grammar mistakes are on purpose, but to me I just get annoyed! But I guess could be cool if your younger, maybe. The back of the can consists mainly of information of the product, and Lee Stafford's top tips, which consist of his tips to get perfectly styled hair. Ingredients are also on the back of the can.
The application of the product was pretty easy, just like most hair strays, and it is advised to spray I on the areas you want, for example, I spray the chopper parts of my hair, as I wanted more volume on these parts of my hair, and as the Spray Wax is not an alternative to hair spray, then people who want extra hold on their hair, I would use hair spray. It is advised by Lee Stafford to apply from "an arm's length away or real close", which is way to vague, so after experimenting, I think that if you want a gentle bed head/ Boho look then an arms length is perfect for you, but for a punky/rock chick look, I would go really close and aim to hit the roots rather then the hair. The smell of the product is difficult to describe, but smells sweet and yummy, just can't really describe it, but it fairly strong smelling, which I don't partically like, but does fade through the day, but it depends on the individual tastes.
Now the important part, the results, I felt the product was really effective, the wax was light on my hair, and not at all greasy or sticky, which is my previous experiences I have had regarding hair wax, but with the Spray Wax it almost felt as if there was not wax on my hair. The Spray Wax seemed to have a really positive effect on my hair, it gave me more volume, but also seemed to make my hair slightly brighter and healthier, an even better!
The results were really amazing, the wax enabled me personally to have the messed up bed hair look really easily, which is what I wanted mainly, as it only takes minutes to get a really good messy hair, with no effort. Perfect for busy people! To get a more punky look, then I would advise you use hairspray aswell, too add to the impact of the style, but still get the basics done with the Spray Wax. If I'm honest, I was worried that the Spray Wax would be difficult to wash out, but it was really simple, and you just wash as normal and all the Wax comes out, which is perfect!
Lee Stafford's Messed Up Spray Wax is available in 150ml cans, which costs £5.49, which seems a bit pricey, but it is a really good product and perfect for a range of styles, will suit everyone.
