Advantages: Cleans hair in two minutes, adds a bit of volume to hair
Disadvantages: Price
If like me you hate washing your hair because it takes so long, but you have to do it often because it gets greasy quickly, then I definitely recommend trying dry shampoo! Batiste is a brand of dry shampoo and it's the first one that I ever tried, and I loved it! Then after a year or so more popular brands, such as Lee Stafford, started to do their own dry shampoo's. I love Lee Stafford's hair products and so when I realised they started to do dry shampoo too, I was very keen to try it!
Luckily, I received a Lee Stafford gift set from my sister a couple of Christmas' ago and it had dry shampoo in it. Obviously I used that ages ago but have bought another myself when I had a Boots coupon sent to me in the post for £2.50 off any Lee Stafford hair product. It is usually £5.49 for 150ml and as Batiste's dry shampoo only costs around £2 and it is just as good (if not better) I have never considered paying so much for a one from a different brand. With the coupon though it only cost me £2.99 so I thought I would give it another go.
For those who aren't familiar with dry shampoo, it can be used on dry hair and it refreshes, revitalises and cleans hair again, and any greasy roots that were visible before will be gone after using it! It is a quick way of 'washing' your hair if you don't have time to wash it properly, and I usually use it when I have work a lot in such a short space of time and I'm too tired to keep washing my hair.
One little tip I have is to use this if you want a bit of volume in your hair. I have often used a little bit of this even when my hair doesn't need washing, just to add some volume to my hair for a night out. Just spray a little bit at the roots and rub with your fingertips!
To use normally you spray from about 16cm onto the root area that needs revitalising then vigorously rub away the powder with your fingers. Don't worry, the powdery spray will go on your hair and turn it grey, but it does come out! I have found that when using Lee Stafford's dry shampoo I sometimes need to brush it out as well as using my fingers. However, by using your fingers you can easily give your hair a bit of volume, whereas you couldn't so much when using a brush, as you will just be flattening your hair.
I do think this dry shampoo is good and it does make my what was greasy looking hair look refreshed and clean again. Not as good as it would if I actually washed it, but good enough for a quick two minute job! It makes my hair look clean all day too, so there is no need to use it again until the next day... if you want to use it again. I have since recommended this product (not this one in particular, but dry shampoo in general) to my friends and they all use it too and one even confessed to washing her hair only once a week now!
Dry shampoo is a must have beauty product that I will never be able to go without now. I will use the Lee Stafford one again, but only if I can get it for half price or something similar again. I think £5.49 is a lot when I can get Batiste's for only £2 and in my opinion works just as good! This also puts me off using other popular brands of dry shampoo that are also priced at over £5.
Summary: A good dry shampoo but just a bit pricey.
