Advantages: Everything
Disadvantages: None at all
Boots will be the end of me! I seriously must ban myself from going! Just lately I've done so much shopping in there as I've been getting vouchers for £2.00 off certain branded products. I've took advantage of this to the maximum and bought loads of stuff in the hope it will be better cos it's stuff from the higher end of the market than the usual stuff I pick up in the pound shop (whatever is there!). I'm not a big fan of hair products and usually wear one at a time so appreciate a good one lol!
This product, Lee Stafford Poker Straight Flat Iron Protection Mist stood out to me cos I always use heat protection spray if nothing else on my hair when styling it but this offered to help me straighten as well as protect and my goodness do I need every bit of help I can get!
My hair is straight and flat at the root, has a fluffy mid section and suffers terrible split ends all of which means growing my hair is difficult as my hairdressers says "Sorry Melanie you've gotta lose another 4 inches" and this can be after 8 weeks! She'll complain at me for using too many methods of drying far to often but won't listen that I have to use a hair-dryer and straighteners so I don't appear to have a buzzbee and I don't dry and straighten my hair every day as it is lol. Her nag last time I went was "When you do dry your hair do you make sure its completely dry before whacking your straighteners on 220C?) to which I replied Of course I do but knowing full well that I always get a sizzle and a smell of burning...... I only have myself to blame for my bad hair days lol!
However I do try lots of different things on my hair and have since stopped sizzling my hair though split ends are still bursting out all all over the place as I speak and they are the bane of my life!!
Who is Lee Stafford?:
Well he's a celebrity hairdresser, won loads of awards , appeared on TV and ain't a bad looker! He owns salons and of course a range of hair care products!
The Packaging:
Bright Pink plastic 200ml clear bottle which is recyclable and is spray action and has a matching clear plastic push on/off lid all to the top of it. White writing explaining what it is, is all over it and very understandable and not full of jargon! I only want to know what it is and what it does after-all and I appreciate cutting out the science bits. It makes no promises as such and just tells me its full of green tea which is an antioxidant that helps protect from environmental and heat damage reducing free radical formation caused by UV and heat styling.
My Experience With It:
I opened the bottle and the smell is simply divine. Its flowery and sort of Oriental but not overpowering and from the smell you really hope its going to be as good as the fragrance! Its sublime and definitely aimed at female users.
I spray it over my hair, comb it though with my fingers and then I style it on a on a cool setting with my hair-dryer. It's not at all sticky, my hair feels like it has nothing in it at all. With other heat styling products I have found they coat the hair to protect it but this just felt like I used a great conditioner that wasn't too heavy and it made my hair feel slightly hydrated.
The first time I used this I blow dried my hair with my fingers and I wasn't paying much notice to the straightening effects of this product at this point as I was busily glued to watching coronation street with the subtitles on so I could follow it and I always follow through with straighteners anyway so wasn't particularly trying to straighten it through blow drying. My hair drying time was cut down a lot for some reason and I looked in the mirror and my hair was near on straight! Not something I expected. It had body, wasn't weighed down and if I'd of combed and used a little finishing spray or hairspray I could go out with straightish hair I was so shocked!
I had to pop downstairs to grab a drink and I walked past my Mum. She commented how nice I smelt and I only at this point had used this spray. Few minuted later I was chatting to my Step-Dad and she interrupted to ask "Why do you have to have your hair so straight?". Well there we go eh and that's just with a hair-dryer and not paying attention!
I would be quite happy to leave my hair alone at this point but for this reviews sake, and by now I'm dying to see a completely finished look according to the instructions on the bottle (Which are spray on to towel dried hair and blow dry or/and spray on to each section of dry hair before you use your irons) that I decide to do just that. So I sprayed small sections of my hair and used my straighteners on my usual 220C. WOWWWWWWWWWWWW!
I didn't need to straighten all my hair and my straighteners glided through it with complete ease. My split ends vanished and even using more product didn't make my hair greasy or lifeless and at the same time my hair hadn't gone into flyaway mode! What's more is that I used hardly any product so it's a real long laster!
I went downstairs again to show my Mum the finished result and she was amazed! My hair after using this is really straight, glossy and it feels amazing and I can't stop playing with it! The great thing about it is although it gets lightly conditioned it isn't over conditioned and I can still put it in an up do with out my hair sliding out all over the place.
I would pay almost any price for this product! Why arnt other people raving on about it, its like a secret! This is by far one of the best products of this kind I have ever tried. I have another 2 vouchers with money off the hair products and I will be getting another 2 bottles of this for sure!
Sold in supermarkets and chemists all over the place my product was £4.99 and from Boots.
Highly recommended!
