I bought this recently from Boots, my hair had been looking a bit dull recently so I decided to invest in a shine spray - after reading a few reviews on DooYoo I decided to go for this Lee Stafford Shine Spray.
It comes in a bright pink aerosol can with the white Lee Stafford logo on the front. This is one of the reasons I bought this one too, alot of the shine sprays seemed to be in bottles with pump action nosles on the top - which made me think that a load of liquid would just come spurting out all over my hair. As the Lee Stafford one is in an aerosol type can my thoughts were that it would dispense a much finer mist over my hair. It usually costs around £5.49 for a 200ml bottle, or you can also buy it in a minature version at £1.99 for 50ml, which is great if your just wanting to try the product without spending too much money.
I havent really used shine sprays before as most hair products just tend to make my hair limp, flat or appear greasy. I was a little worried that this spray would do the same but I had a £2 voucher for money off a professional hair care product so I decided to give it a go.
To use simply spray onto your hair after styling - simple enough! I found that after styling my hair and spraying this on I could immediatly see the difference. My hair looked more healthy and shiny and a lot less dull! You dont need much to get a good shine either so it will last me a long while. Whats also great about this is that it doesnt turn my hair greasy or limp, infact you can barely tell that there is anything on my hair other than the fact that it looks a lot shinier.
Overall I would definitely recommend it to anyone who needs a bit more shine to their locks, its well worth the money and leaves my hair shiny and healthy looking. It doesnt weigh it down or make it greasy and a little bit really does go a long way - and on top of this it also smells really nice!
I've never really thought of using a shine spray before as my hair isn't too dull to begin with and also doesn't react well to too many products and can look flat quite easily. However I ended up buying the sample size version of this from Boots as there was a 5 for 4 offer on the travel mini's and I couldn't find anything else to bring me up to my 5 items. I thought it might be a good idea to take on holiday as my long hair can start to look dull whilst away due to sun and salt water damage.
It was £1.99 for the 50ml mini bottle and its £5.49 for the 200ml bottle at Boots.
The spray comes in a normal shape bottle with a spray top and pink lid on top of this - which is good if you are taking it on holiday or in your handbag. The bottle is bright pink in accordance with the other Lee Stafford products. It has white lettering reading "ShiNe HEaD" and the Lee Stafford logo also in white. Overall the packaging is fun, eye catching and girly, which really appealed to me.
I used this in the evening after straightening or curling my hair and after spraying on any hair spray. You just shake the bottle well then spray all over the hair, then that's it. I must admit I wasn't expecting a lot, I thought it would either not do anything, or make my hair look really shiny but with a side-effect of greasiness to go with it. Fortunately neither of these occurred.
My hair looked instantly much shinier after spraying it on, I only used a small amount the first time in fear of my hair instantly looking limp but I still noticed the difference. The next few times I used slightly more but found that only a small amount is required for my hair to look shiny. It worked well with both curls and straight hair by giving it a nice finishing touch. Towards the end of the holiday when my hair was starting to look rather dull this was a real saviour and I found myself using it every night after styling.
It didn't once have any negative effect on my hair, it didn't weigh it down or make it look greasy. It basically was so light on my hair that I couldn't even tell the difference after spraying it on. I also absolutely love the smell, it's a similar fragrance to the other Lee Stafford products - very floral and quite strong but really nice. It actually smells as nice as a good quality perfume and made using the product a very luxurious experience. I was also pleased to find that the smell lasted well and I could still notice it after going out for a meal and to the bars. So the spray actually serves a dual purpose as a hair perfume.
Despite using the mini bottle every night of a 10 day holiday it still didn't run out, as not a lot was required making it great value for money. I have long hair and usually find that hair products don't last me very long so I was really impressed with this.
I was so pleased with this product that when I got back from holidays I went straight to Boots and bought the full size bottle. I now use it every time I go on a night out or anywhere special and am so glad I came across it!
I'm so impressed with this product and would highly recommend it as a finishing touch for hair when going somewhere special. I would particularly recommend it to those like me who usually shy away from using hair finishing products like this in worry of hair looking lifeless.
I found a can of Lee Stafford's Shine Head Spray Shine in my room, and unsure where it came from and who it belongs to, I was quite interested into how the product works, as apparently it adds much more shine to hair, which is quite a statement and if it worked I would defiantly be using it everyday!
The packaging of the Lee Stafford Shine Head Spray Shine are really appealing to myself, being hot pink (my favourite colour!) it really draws me to the Lee Stafford range, but also the fact that in my local Boots it is stocked in the more professional aisle of the store, and might heighten the appeal of Lee Stafford. The product is in a can, will a press down top and cap. The silver writing on the can consists of the Lee Stafford logo and the name of the product, also a description of the product, stating "non greasy", "shiny" and "seXxxy hair in the can" (spelling mistake was on purpose). Honestly the spelling annoys me, but the can does have a lot of important information about the product for those who want it
The application of the Spray Shine was exactly the same as hair sprays, but you spray it where you would want the shine on your hair, I personally chose spray on the top of my head, and slightly on the side of my hair. To apply the spray, it recommends that you spray it roughly 20cm away from your head, which gets a much better and even coat of the spray. The smell was fairly strong, smelt mainly of hair sprays, that canned smell, which I don't have a problem with, but might not suit everyone's tastes, but the smell does go after a while.
I waited a few minutes until I saw the shine, as I knew it would have to set into my hair. Unfortunately I didn't see any shine, or shine that I could see, which I was quite unhappy about, as it didn't say anything about certain hair colours get best results, and I couldn't see any shine, which was added, so it pretty much didn't work for me. And to make it worse my hair feel almost greasy, and I hate greasy feelings on my hair, so I ended up not keeping it on my hair, as it just wasn't for me at all.
Lee Stafford Shine Head Spray Shine is available at some Supermarkets and bigger stores of Superdrug and Boots, and costs around £5.40 for around 200ml, but does come in smaller sizes for travelling.
Colour: Hot Pink
Size: 200mle Net 6.7 fl.0z
Ingredients: Butane, Alcohol Denat., Cyclomethicone, Propane, Isobutane, Parfum, Cetearyl Octanoate, PEG-12 Dimethicone, Butylphenyl Methylpropional, Linalool, Limonene, Benzyl Alcohol.
Just shake well and hold about 20 cm away from your hair and spray all over, this will make your hair shiny and manageable without making it hard, so it will work with your natural hair and keeps its' flow.
This is a great item if you have thick hair and you tend to straighten your hair, as this will reduce fly away as well as give it that shiny perfect hair look. What I like about this product apart from it's pink girly colour which looks great on any dressing table is the great smell it has. This is unlike any other hair products such as hair spray, it leaves your hair smelling great; gives you that feeling when you've left the hairdressers.
You do however have to be careful when spraying this, make sure it's not to close to your hair and also keep moving the can all over your head, and not keep it on the same space, as it does have the tendency to make your hair look greasy if you do the above.
The Top tip provided on the back of the bottle is:
"Spray away and sparkle like a crazy diamond. Your hair will shine and smell great for hours and hours!"
I bought the Lee Stafford Shine Head Spray Shine from Boots, probably about a month ago now. I think what first attracted me to the spray was the bright pink bottle - you can see from the picture provided by dooyoo how bold and how pink it is. Its very girly and eye catching and I really love that about it.
I paid around £4 for this which isn't too bad considering there is 200ml in the bottle and it should last you around three to four months. Obviously how long this bottle lasts depends on how much you use it, and I only use it around three times a week because I don't like to be wasteful.
I have used other products from the same range before now, and although I always quite like the products from this range, I do think there are better brands about. My favourite thing about this has got to be the pink packaging though!
So I spray this on my hair after styling and doing this is supposed to give the hair a glossy shine. I think although this does seem to give my hair a bit of a boost, that it doesn't make a huge difference to how shiny my hair is. I like the smell though and it does make a small difference. And of course I adore the packaging. So overall 3/5 and recommended :)
I think most of us would like to have perfect, shiny, shampoo-ad style hair, but unfortunately the reality is often something different! I have mousy hair - sort of in between blonde and brown - which I dye a dark chocolate colour, but I hate the whole process of dyeing it, so it's now been 2 months since it was coloured, and it's beginning to look fairly dull and faded.
When I saw this product I thought it could be just what I needed but I had a couple of reservations. Firstly I find Lee Stafford products quite overrated, and haven't been impressed with a lot of the products I have used from the range. Secondly the shine sprays I have used in the past have been a little bit hit and miss, and I find they can make the hair greasy.
As this product specifically describes itself as non-greasy, I decided to buy the 50ml travel sized version, as this way I could try it out without paying for the full sized bottle.
The product comes in a striking pink coloured aerosol can which makes it easily recognisable as the Lee Stafford brand. I do like the bottles from this range, they look modern and quite funky, but unfortunately in the past I've often found the packaging to be the best thing about the products!
There are no directions for use on the bottle, so I just use this the same way I have with products in the past which is simply to style the hair as normal and then spray this over the top, brushing it through. The smell of this is not too bad - I don't think I could put my finger on exactly what it smells like, but I'd say perhaps it's slightly fruity and you don't get that choking effect you tend to get with most aerosols!
Once on the hair the product feels light and does not weigh the hair down at all. It doesn't seem to offer any hold, so if you want your hair to stay in place you will have to use this in addition to a hairspray/serum/whatever you normally use.
I do think this product adds a bit of sheen to my hair, but unfortunately it's not quite the show-stopping glamorous shine I had been hoping for! When my hair is down it is barely noticeable, but if I put it up and then spray this on, strangely it seems to have more of an effect. Overall though I can't say I was too impressed, as the results were not really noticeable which was disappointing.
My worries about this being greasy came to nothing as it's so lightweight it doesn't have that effect. It does make my hair feel really nice to the touch though - incredibly silky and smooth which was unexpected, but is something I'm really pleased about.
The full 200ml size costs £4.49 and the 50ml travel size is £1.95. Both are available from Boots.
On the whole though I wasn't shining like a diamond, crazy or, otherwise with this spray!! It does give a subtle sheen to the hair though, doesn't make my hair greasy and gives it a lovely silky soft feeling on the plus side. If you're looking for an intense shine like I was then perhaps go for something else, but if you just want to give a subtle sheen to your hair, then this is worth a try.
I love Lee Stafford products, and Shine Head Shine Spray is one of his products that is always in stock on my hair care products shelf (yes I have a whole shelf full lol).
Shine head comes in a shiny pink can of 200ml and bears the Lee Stafford staffordshire bull terrier logo that all his products carry. You can buy this in Boots stores from the hair care section and is sometimes on a 3 for 2 hair mix and match offer. This usually costs around £3.
When my hair got very dry from all the abuse I gave it with bleaching, coloring and straightening, it started to look very dull so I needed to give it some sort of boost in the looks department. I was already using many Lee Stafford products, so I thought I would have a look at the rest of the range and see what I could find that would help. I came across Shine Head and seemed like the perfect product for what I needed, so I bought it and took it home to try it out.
The results were actually quite amazing, I was expecting just a tiny bit of difference in my hair, but this stuff actually gave me a great amount of shine to my hair. It made my hair look naturally shiny and glossy, without making it weighed down or greasy like some sprays can. Shine Head also smells lovely. It smells like a hair salon, and this smell lingers in the hair all day, making me feel like I had a salon hair do.
The spray comes out really smoothly, so you can spray it evenly on the hair, and you hardly need to use any of it, so it lasts for ages. Even when I use this everyday, a 200ml can lasts me almost 2 months, so it really is great value for money, and if you have a Boots advantage card, you get points on buying this too.
I really do recommend this wonderful product to anyone, even if you don't have dull hair as it really will make your hair look totally fantastic, I can not find any faults with this products what so ever.

Who would have thought you could get shiny, healthy looking hair from one small can!! I've never tried any other Lee Stafford products but this spray shine is absolutely brilliant. My hair is often lacklustre and dry looking yet I've never found a shampoo or conditioner that has made my hair look truly shiny. I've always been envious of my friends who have much shinier and healthy looking hair. And you know what they say if you can't beat them...cheat!! And it is so incredibly quick and easy to use. Simply wash and dry your hair as normal. Once it is styled as usual you give this a quick spray all over your hair and you can visibly see your hair looking instantly shinier. It is a great instant pick me up for your hair. My only criticism is that I'm not too keen on the smell, it can be a bit musky and over powering however this has not put me off buying it or using it. I just make sure I put my perfume on after I've used it so that it isnt the prevailing scent!
I was bought this shine spray as a present and I definitely wouldn't buy it again for myself. The product is a shine spray that sprays what looks like tiny flecks of gold over your hair and is supposed to contain a synthetic version of preen gland oil which is what ducks secrete to keep their feather shiny (information from the Lee Stafford website). The directions tell you to spray evenly over your hair once styled, it's supposed to give shiny, glossy 'sexy' hair. It costs £4.49 from Boots which I think is very pricey but it can be bought slightly cheaper from Superdrug, Wilko's etc.
Ive used this product a few times when I've been on nights out and it's OK but really nothing special.
The first time I used it, I styled my hair as usual and sprayed it over all my hair. It has a nice fresh smell which I did like, but I couldn't see any difference, so I applied some more, I could then see my hair looked shiny, but only when caught in the light, so I would say you definitely have to apply this liberally to see anything.
It does give a sort of toussled effect to my hair, which is nice, and the shine does last for a long time. It holds the style and keeps hair shiny for an entire night out and I could still see the shine in my hair the next morning until I washed it out. It washes out very easily and doesn't leave a residue. However there are much better products out there that do the same thing for the same money such as John Freida's Spun Gold (see review).
One of the main things I disliked about this product was that if it's sprayed close to your roots it can make them look greasy and makes hair look almost stuck together, I wouldn't recommend using this when wearing your hair up.
I do think this product may be nice to use occasionally when going out for a meal say, but you wouldn't even tell any difference if you had this in your hair in a club as its dark and it shines when caught in the light! If it styled hair more I would probably like it, but as it's mainly to add shine, I do think it's a slightly unnecessary product really when other products offer both style and shine.
Who will like this product:
Those looking for a product to top off their hairstyle giving perfect shine and a glorious smell.
Where to find this product:
Boots and superdrug both stock the Lee Stafford range.
£4.99 for 200ml which is quite expensive but worth it. Look out for offers such as 3 for 2 in the haircare ranges.
This product comes in a shocking pink metallic spray can which is really eye catching! The product sprays easily and smells very nice.
How to use:
Spray all over your hair after styled, to add shine and goregous smell.
This product is an absolute must for girls who want to seal their hairstyles superbly. Your hair will be shiny and therefore very healthy looking. Also the smell of the product is gorgeous and will definatly get you noticed. I 'd warn you not to over use as you dont want your hair to look wet so short bursts at a time is all you need.
Definatly add this product to your collection as it is fab-y-licious!
Lee Stafford Shine Spray
I absolutely love the Lee Stafford Hair Care Products and wouldn't be able to go outside with my mop without them.
I have long, thick, dry hair and his products make my hair look shiny and in great condition.
DO you ever see people with gorgeous silky siny hair and crave it yourself and wonder why they are so blessed? Well with Lee Staffords products you can have shiny healhty looking hair too.
The first time I used these was when my hairdresser used them on me a couple of years ago. I came out feeling beeautiful, my hair had had a total makeover and looked fantastic, everybody commented so I went out and bought some for myself.
I straighten my hair and then before heading out spray this about 9 inches away form the hair. The hair feals and look s shiny and healthy and has a gorgeous smell.
The Lee Stafford hair care range is one that I really want to love, and therefore keep trying products from, but unfortunately there is only one of them that I would think worth rebuying (I cannot live without the Dehumidifier Spray on holiday).
Given that I've not been wowed by any of the results of the products in the range (Dehumidifier obviously not including in that statement), what then makes me keep trying the products? Well firstly they are pink. I know, I know, simple things please simple minds and all that. I love pink, and due to the bright pink eye catching packaging of the Lee Stafford range it kind of draws me in when I spot it on the shelves and makes me want to look at the products more closely. 10 out of 10 for marketing!
Once drawn in by this glorious world of pinkness, is the second thing sure to seduce any woman; a gorgeous girly fragrance. Mmm, I really do love the fragrance of these products. It is one that is hard to describe really, as I can't tell WHAT it smells of, but it's the sweetest of sweet smells. If the colour pink had a scent, it would be this. 10 out of 10 for the theme then! The scent, although I really do love it, and is the biggest reason behind most of my purchases from the range, may not be appealing to all. It really is a sweet girly smell, and the only thing that it does vaguely remind me of is a body spray I bought from a pound shop in Blackpool when I was about 12. It was a very nice smelling body spray, but nonetheless a body spray aimed at young teens. Perhaps more mature consumers, or anyone looking for a more 'classy' scent, will not like this. Personally, heck, who cares about class, I love it! Apparently the scent is boosted with fragrance of chocolate, caramel and raspberry. Another note to mention on the scent would be, whilst products such as Aussie draw in people from all around, and have strangers actually grabbing your head to smell it in public (yes, this actually has happened to me) because it smells so nice, when I wear Lee Stafford products I've never even had one comment on my hair smelling nice. This means one of two things, most people don't like the scent, and it's just me who does or it's not strong enough for people to smell or wears off quickly. It is said to be a subtle scent, and whilst when first smelling it I wouldn't think it is, perhaps it is after first applied.
So now onto the product. Shine sprays are something I'm a huge fan of. If you have long straight hair, chances are, it's not in the best of condition, but in order for there to be any point in having long straight hair it needs to LOOK like it is. You need your hair to shine like it's radiating with health. Sleek, smooth, glossy, hair. It's what every girl wants. Due to my obsession with this, I have tried many different products. I have two all time favourites which are John Frieda's Serum Finishing Spray Glossing Mist, and Umberto Giannini's Dazzling Shine In The Spotlight Gloss Mist. I love these products SO much, that I actually urge you all to stop whatever you are doing right now and go and buy a bottle of each. They will change your life, or at least your hair, forever! Or at least until they run out!
Anyway back to the product at hand. Unfortunately it's not one I can rave about like the above mentioned products. Lee Stafford describes it as "Shiny sexxxy hair in a can", yes that's right sexxxy, with three 'x's. I suppose it maybe does give you "sexxxy" hair, as that could be taken to mean anything  It didn't particularly give me "sexy" hair though. Nor was it particularly shiny.
It contains a synthetic version of "preen gland oil" which ducks use to keep their feathers shiny. Apparently, if it works for them you "know it will work wonders for you". Hmmm. Can't say I've ever particularly thought of adapting a ducks beauty regime to suit my own. Nor is my hair much like feathers and it's not constantly in water all day either. Still, it's a unique idea at least I guess! Unsurprisingly, there is no information to be found suggesting that essentially "duck oil" is of any benefit to the hair.
It says to "spray away and sparkle like a crazy diamond", whatever one of those are! I've found that it doesn't make the hair particularly shiny, and it definitely doesn't sparkle, especially not like a diamond. It says your hair will shine and smell great for hours, which I also find to be somewhat untrue. I've never had any comments on my hair being shiny or smelling nice after having used this.
My main complaint with the product is that it is a shine spray but it doesn't really make my hair shine. Maybe I've been spoilt by using two great shine sprays before this, they really do make your hair shiny, sexy, glossy and just radiate health. This spray I found there were two options, spray enough so that it doesn't have any effect on your hair whatsoever, or spray a little more and have your hair looking greasy and lank, but still not shiny.
This product has funky packaging and a scent that I really like but is either not nice enough, or not strong enough for other people to like on you, but that is all it does. At best it is hair deodorant. As a shine spray it's simply not good enough. If it does provide any shine whatsoever it's very minimal. There are simply much better shine sprays out there for a similar price, so there is no valid reason to choose this one.
At £4.49 it doesn't compare well considering for £4.79 you can get the amazing Umberto Giannini shine spray, or the equally fab John Frieda Gloss spray for £4.47. Although the prices are all similar, the difference in quality is worlds apart.
Another one of my Lee Stafford purchases from Boots! I can't tell you how glad I am to have no more £2.00 off vouchers!
I was so attracted to this since I'd have had a couple of excellent experiences with this range and decided to collect the whole range as I trust it!
I want shiny hair like Penelope Cruz on that advert and cos of this I'm constantly buying hair products! I'm sure I'm addicted actually.
Who is Lee?....
He is one of Britain's most innovative and in-demand hairdressers. Been on the tv and has a celebrity list of clients and this range is 'exclusive' to Boots! He's won of awards over the past decade and is fairly cute ladies lol
About The Product I'm Reviewing....
For the record and to clarify I'm reviewing Lee Staffords Shine Head, Spray shine.
It come's in a bright pink, 200ml tin which is recycable. It has the signiture white bar code on the front with white writing explaining it is indeed by Lee Stafford and what it is. On the back simply tells us to 'spray away and sparkle like a crazy diamond'. Promises hair will sparkle for hours and hours! Also lists the ingredients and the usual warnings of using an aeresol.
To me this is a must have. I've used loads of spray shines over the years such as Gliss and this is so superior!
It smells divine, as all his products do and is very much aimed at us gals! It's heavily scented floral which may not go with lots of other products though. Stick to one or to products of other makes or use his and its fine! I'm aware since using products of this type to use it as your last product on dry hair, after hairspray but I do feel it wouldn't go a miss to state that to someone who hasnt used it before!
The product does exactly what it promises. It does smell on the hair for hours and hours which I particulary like cos for my sins I am a smoker and smelly hair is something I am paranoid of! It goes on hair in a fine mist and you can aactually see the shine being applied! It really does bling and make hair look so fresh. You cant feel it, it doesnt do anything but create the shine!
I did think maybe using a shine enhancing product would make my greasy roots greasier but it doesnt. It makes my dry ends smoother and involves them in the style creating a realy slick look. It's a spray and go product, you don't need loads but you can't use too much and make a mistake!
I do use other shine promoting products but if I'm having an 'updo' I have to use hairspray which I loathe as I find any that whatever I use takes away alot of the shine I have achieved but this is a fabulous instant solution!
I absolutely love it!!!!! It keeps shining away even if I restyle the day after, never feels greasy or heavy and washes out easily! It's a little marvel and I cant recommend it enough. If your hair is lacking shine do try this! As I've said it's instant results you can see!
Only in Boots at £4.49!
With its great smell and long-lasting shine this unique blend of high and low viscosity cosmetic silicone compounds is especially developed to provide outstanding gloss and shine /
