Advantages: None at all.
Disadvantages: Absolutley murders your hair!! Burns your scalp.
Yes, your hair will definitely be screaming if you use this one! I am talking about Lite; it's a cheap hair lightener, which is the harshest dye you can buy in most shops. It really is a horrible product! It costs £2ish for a large amount of it, and I wish I had a penny for all the people I knew, who were left broken hearted, begging a hairdresser to "See what they could save" Of what was left of their previous beautiful hair! If you really must dye your hair blonde, please go to the hairdressers and get it done professionally! You will be so glad you did! Anyway, as for Lite. It comes with no gloves at all (Very safe, eh?) And no after colour conditioner. Which you WILL need after using such a harsh treatment on your hair. I can honestly say, that I've never met anyone who has had the results they wanted with this. You can see it now, you've got the dye on your hair, you're thinking to yourself, " I wonder what I'll look like with blonde hair?" And, all you got was a trip to the hairdressers, and a lot of hair cut off! Even hairdressers hate this stuff (Next time ask your stylist about it! See the look of horror on her face!! The stuff if pure evil lol!!) It dries your hair, makes it snap off, and burns your scalp something terrible. My heart honestly goes out to anyone who has ever used this, and learned the hard way. I did. I had to get a lot of my hair cut off and a lecture from my hairdresser!! Never again!

- 25/09/09 Thank you very much for your comments - I see that this product has now been removed from the market, which is fine for you but you may have had a bad experience with Lite Hair Lightener but did you ever think to do a strand test as you are advised to before using the product?
I'd just like to say that I have used this product on my hair for years and years and never had any bad reaction; in fact, my hair is nearly down to my waist and in excellent condition - in fact, I often get complimented on it! My hairdresser says that my hair is in great condition and she has never heard of Lite Hair Lightener but she thinks it must be ok as I have used it for so long.
Now I have dark roots and I am at a loss at what I can use - I have even contacted the manufacturer and they can't help as it is now no longer available! So, thanks for nothing! |

- 20/10/00 Have you never seen it before? Luck you! lol!
It's bought in most shops, I've never seen it in Boots ( I think they've got more sense!), It really is awfull stuff though! I think the bad thing is, it's so cheap, so young girls, with not much money, but they want the blonde hair , they are the ones who will buy this ( Everone I know who's ever tried it was under 20, anyway!) It really is murder on your hair!
Ask your hairdresser what it is, I bet they've had screaming girls in, begging them to sort out their mess of a head!
It looks cheap too. I can't remember who makes it, it's usually with the other hair lighteners, I didn't know that you don't always get gloves with the home bleach! But, I think you should with this though, I had bad chemical burns all around my hairline,on my scalp, and on my fingers, I was washing my hands like mad!
I hope that no-one else has to go through the heartbreak I did with this!
I used it when I was 16, I wanted to have blonde hair like my friends, I couldn't afford the hairdresses, but, this was in my price range, so I tried it. My hair was so long I used to sit on it! I loved my hair being so long, but, after using this, I was left with absolutely no alternative but to cut it! I cried my heart out!!
My hair was cut to a bob! I hated having to get it cut, but, it was that, or have it snap off and be in really bad condition. And, if I heared one more person tell me
"Don't worry, It'll grow back..."
I would have turned into a mass murderer lol!! |

- 19/10/00 What is this stuff? <intrigued>. I'd never heard of it! Sounds terrible! On gloves, you don't usually actually need gloves for home-strength hair bleach (unless you have very sensitive skin) |
