Advantages: Leaves hair feeling soft, smooth and very healthy
Disadvantages: Very expensive for what it is! (1 star taken off...)
Before I start talking about the shampoo, I want to say that I use to have very frizzy, greasy, unruly hair. I virtually never ever got compliments about it and it was a huge hassle to wash. My hair/scalp didn't seem to like some shampoos at all. I have naturally wavy hair and really wanted the waves to be soft and gentle, but when my hair was down it was just frizzzzz...
I guess what followed was really how I started using Lush products and ended repurchasing many time and time again. I looked for different shampoos, hoping that there would be something that worked. I'd already tried a lot of brands before from supermarkets/Boots and decided to try Curly Wurly shampoo from Lush. This one I really liked, but after a while the coconut bits in the shampoo annoyed me and I switched to Big shampoo.
When I first purchased Big shampoo, I'm pretty sure it was less than £10 but currently Lush sell it at a rather pricey £10.95/330g. It lasts me half a year at least, and I have mid-long length thick, thick heavy hair. You don't need much, but after soaping your hair up, you can build it into a nice lather. The smell is fresh like the seaside/early mornings. It's not an overpowering smell and subtly attractive. When you look inside the pot, it looks like a load of course sea salt in a white liquid, but it does work! If you're feeling on the shelf a little, it might be worth asking for a small sample from the staff members...who seem to be EVERYWHERE...It might not be right for your hair e.g. too drying...
I was a little bit hesitant to buy this shampoo as the name of the shampoo is 'Big'. I didn't need any more volume than I had already. But there were other things that I liked, such as enhancing shine and softness of the hair. I have to say that I don't regret it at all. This shampoo is as good as Curly Wurly...I actually prefer it because there isn't the mess of the coconut bits! In my experience it didn't add volume to my hair but did do the other things (soft, shine) - amazing! It does make my hair feel beautiful clean, strong and very healthy. I don't get the frizz or the mess that I use to and I can honestly say that unless I'm forced to use a normal supermarket brand like Loreal or Hand&Shoulders when staying away from home, I will only use Lush - I like it that much!!
Most of the time I just use it by itself without any conditioner. I really love Big shampoo, but unfortunately due to the price I sometimes use the solid Lush shampoo bars as well which last quite a long time and cost much less. There are so many pluses about this shampoo so it's a real shame that the price seems to have increased even more than what it was before!
Summary: Expensive hair shampoo that worked wonders for my hair!
