Advantages: lathers up nicely
Disadvantages: chemical smell a little off putting
For those that don't know much about Lush products, in brief they are hand made beauty products, their range runs from shampoos, to face packs to soaps and bath bombs and even toothpaste and so much more, they don't test any of their products on animals and they try to make it so that the ingredients are always as natural as possible
So what is it?
The blonde looks a bit daunting to begin with it's a chunk of yellowness that is solid and at first thought you wonder how on earth your ever going to use this slab of sunnyness as a shampoo, on the instructions you are advised to wet hair thoroughly then rub the bar over your hair, now this didn't work for me and only made my hair tangle up, I found the most effective way to use it was to rub it quickly between my hands then transfer the foamy mess that was on my hands onto my hair, this worked a lot better for me, I was able to get a good lather when I worked the bar between my hands then rubbed my hands on my hair, this may be a little annoying for some people because the process would take a little longer than they are probably used to
How much is it and how long will it last?
. The price in the shop for this product is £3.50 for 100gram bar
However I was informed by the staff in the shop that that would be the least amount they could do, so I got a chunk sliced for me and it came to £4.00, I have had the bar for around two weeks now and it is slowly going down, you do get good use out of the bar and it does last for a
While
Smells like?
It contains camomile and lemon, The smell isn't really that enticing I always thought it smelled a bit chemically not really like bleach but with chemical overtones, even though I know that there is no such ingredients in it
Does it do exactly as it says on the tin?
Now here's where we get down to it
I bought this bar originally in the vain hope that I wouldn't have to continue to dye by fairly dark blonde/light brown hair to make it brighter blonde, the top half of may hair is blonde brown and the bottom is a reddish colour so I technically have two colours in my hair
I haven't really seen that much difference in the blondeness of my hair, however, oddly the shampoo bar seems to have lightened the bottom of my hair which is red, there are some bits in the shampoo bar and I do think the bar overall would be better if it didn't have these extra bits in it, as far as I am aware these bits are from the plants that they use to make the bar itself
The bar did not tangle my hair at all, and it does leave it feeling very clean and fresh and my hair is shinier, I wasn't over keen on the smell at all
The bar itself is a little awkward to use but once you get the hang of it the idea of rubbing it on to your hair becomes almost second nature
And I do think that for £4.00 it is a little on the expensive side, however you are paying for something that has a complete history with it, and the brand behind the products stands up for non testing and also natural ingredients in the products
Overall- I did like this product but probably would not be buying it again for my locks, I also wouldn't really recommend it to those that are hoping for it to lighten their blonde locks- unlike other lush products this is one of them that doesn't do exactly as it says on the tin
