Advantages: smells good
Disadvantages: leaves hair limp
I have tried quite a few blonding shampoos in my time and this is not one I would race to use again. I used it as a stop gap inbetween my John Frieda regime.
About Lush:
Lush smells divine when you walk in, all flowery and potent and you feel encouraged to buy something. This gleaming shampoo sits in big blocks of cheese on the shelves, waiting to be carved up into bite sized portions. I went into the store and bought a small block, which cost me about four pounds.
The shampoo:
Comes in a block, yellow in colour with bits of sunflower in it, looks lovely, smells even better, a fresh zingy smell that invigorates the senses.
The test:
It lathers up pretty well, just rub a small piece of the block between the hands and work into the hair. It smells great while it is on and you can feel it gently cleansing the scalp. It is easy enough to rinse off and I had no residue problems, except round the bath- it had gone a bit greasy.
The next bit:
After a light towel dry and the blow-dry I was left rather disappointed. The hair did not appear any brighter and it actually felt rather dry and lifeless. All the softness seemed to have been zapped from the hair shaft, leaving it frizzy and less managable than usual.
Verdict:
Compared to other blonding shampoos, I do not rate this. It looks and smells lovely, but the results leave the hair looking tired and distressed. Sorry Lush, not worth plumping for this one
Summary: poor
