Advantages: Smell, Silky smooth and much more manageable hair, very ethical trade ethos

Disadvantages: Quite expensive

You can't beat the friendliness of the staff in a Lush shop, it in fact often verges on the annoying. However I can't complain that the nice lady on the counter at this particular visit offered me a free sample of veganese conditioner to use with this shampoo. It was a similar smell and complimented it well I feel, but anyway thats a seperate review...

££ Price and value for money - The bottle comes in three different sizes. I purchased the medium size (250ml) which set me back £6.80 - I do think this is rather a lot but if you're in the mood to treat yourself to a nice shampoo which you know is going to be natural and ethically sourced then it's well worth it. Or you can alway buy the smaller size for £3.43 with which you only get 100ml - but you'll be surprised how long that will last you as you do not need to use that much of it. There is also a massive 500ml bumper bottle which would certainly work out cheaper if you really did get addicted to the stuff but at £11.01 I think I would rather buy the medium size.

Smell - I really think it smells gorgeous, it's the one thing I've found which actually smells the way the shop does when you walk through the door (or indeed 25 metres up the highstreet from it!) I won't bore you with a list of ingredients because I really think thats unnecessary for a review on shampoo, but the main fragrance seems to be lemons.

The results - My hair felt silky, soft and smooth. It also felt lighter - this is strange being that the bottle stated; 'Adds weight to fluffy hair' however I would actually prefer the weightLESS option. To be honest I didn't actually check the bottle with regards to what my hair type needs, I just chose the one with the nicest smell! And was altogether very pleased with the results.
My hair also felt a lot more manageable and I didn't have to drag the comb through it before blow-drying as I normally do, instead I think the word 'glide' best describes the way the comb moved through my hair - and boy did that make a nice change! My hair smelt nice after washing, although I must say not as nice as the pure shampoo smelt. This smell lasted in my hair for a 24 hours though which is pretty good going.

The 2 day test - normally I need to wash my hair every other day, I have also recently cut my hair and it normally gets greasier quicker when its just been made shorter. However with this shampoo my hair didn't look that bad when it was nearing its scheduled wash time! Hoorah!

Ethics - The bottle is recyclable and the fact that it's even in a bottle is unusual for Lush seeing as they usually save on packaging by making things like shampoo in hard blocks. Everything used is FRESH (we even know when it was made and who by on the friendly little sticker which definately adds a personal touch.) They test on willing HUMAN subjects - never innocent animals. All ingredients are organically grown and sourced and vegetarian (yes there is no gelatine in those wonderful wobbly shower jellys - I asked!).
