Advantages: A great conditioner for fly away and dry hair

Disadvantages: Its a retro product

I can spend such a long time searching for a good conditioner. Trying to ensure that it will suit my hair type and hopefully give good results. It seems that I have tried many supermarket brands that I could probably stock my own shop! I find that products which are commercially based on a global scale contain more water than any goodness. Now I know Lush are a global company but their ethics are far more superior than greedily taking money from poor customers! They give every product a personal touch and try to ensure that they really work.

A conditioner that I tried, tested and loved was Forever In Bloom which Lush called this a light conditioner (like a very soft peach colour, which often changes dependant on batch) intended for fine, fly away hair, Forever In Bloom is a refreshingly airy floral concoction of calming jasmine and honeysuckle, healing and moisturising marigold and rose, strengthening, elasticity enhancing chamomile, and softening lanolin that actually works equally well on coarse, thick hair that is prone to poufy wildness. Now I don't have fine hair whatsoever but I do have dry hair and my thinking was that the moisturising properties would work greatly.

Possessing a rather watery consistency (which compared to other Lush conditioners this seems rather odd), a little doesn't necessarily go a long way (unlike a lot of Lush products), but once your locks are coated with this exquisitely perfumed conditioner, you'll be instantly blessed with a smoother, tangle free texture, soothed and weighted but still possessing body and bounce. Just be careful when you squeeze the bottle it doesn't quickly run through your fingers and down the drain!

In fact, those with slightly dry, weak hair can even use Forever in Bloom; though it's supposed to be Lush's mildest conditioner, application of an even heftier dose will surprisingly manage to do the trick. I used about the size of a Vaseline tin as I knew I'd need a bit more. It works through the hair perfectly and is even better if you can get a comb through it while in the shower so it goes straight to the roots. I found that after blow drying my hair that I had a lovely shine and it was really manageable. Now I can't say that I noticed my hair was stronger but I can't complain that my hair smelt of a wonderful floral bouquet and was soft and manageable all day long. To me this is was a conditioner should do. The wonderful fresh fragrant scent stays on your hair all day long but please don't sniff you hair in front of strangers as they may think something is wrong with you! Another positive about this fragrant conditioner is that it's very soothing and will gladly calm any nerves you may have.

It's a real pity that Forever in Bloom was discontinued without a suitable replacement, as Lush's shelves simply wound up less one high quality conditioner. In the meantime, hair that responds well to Forever In Bloom may wish to try Lush's Veganese Conditioner for a similar level of moisture (even in the absence of lanolin), though its sharp lemon fragrance is inarguably less exotic than Forever In Bloom's soothingly carefree balm. However after much protest Lush brought this conditioner back as a retro thank goodness so all the world now have an opportunity to use it!!

What Lush say:-

The name Forever in Bloom is taken from a line in The Prophet, a book by philosopher and writer Khalil Gibran; read it so you can find out which one. Anyway, the point is that it is full of flowers; 5 flower infusions give body to fly-away hair and leave it smelling beautiful. This is a light conditioner for fine hair that tends to get weighed down by most others. The St. John's wort, honeysuckle, jasmine, chamomile and marigold infusions make scalps soft and smooth too.

Forever in Bloom costs £10.77 for 500g which I think is great value, unless you have to use a lot to get a good result. This has to be a definite must for anyone will fly away and dry hair as it gets the job done with great results.

Summary: A must buy!

I am similar with conditioners and so far have been unimpressed with Lush's ones. Might try this.
