When I go on holiday especially somewhere hot and humid, there is no point in me trying to have straight hair as it just simply won't happen! My natural hair is wavy, not curly, wavy! It forms very very loose ringlets and I guess I should be pleased that I have such a great hair type that I can do most things with it (or so my mother tells me!). So when I do have it curly, I need a great styling product which will stay all day long, rather than disintegrate and then go flakey all over my hair!

The one product I have been using for sometime now is Lush's Goth Juice as apart from its beautiful colour, it really holds the style all day long and it doesn't go rock hard either. The hair is manageable, left with a beautiful scent and looks great. Some hair care products go that hard on your hair, it makes you look like you've got wet hair - unless your going for that look however. Goth Juice looks incredibly natural almost invisible.

Goth Juice comes in the standard black Lush tub. The lid screws off to reveal one of the funkiest colored styling products I have ever seen! It's a deep shimmery purple color! It has the consistency of a thick cream (which does worry you when you first think "how am I going to put that on my hair"!). It literally wiggles in the tub when you shake it, quite like a jelly in a mould! However, when you start applying it, the texture changes to a thin gel that absorbs quickly into the hair and leaves a great natural finish. I think it might be something to do with body heat that makes the gel soften and become thinner.

Lush formulated Goth Juice as a moderate hold styling gel, which no doubt will suit most people with a similar hair type to mine. As with all Lush products, Goth Juice contains nearly all natural ingredients including fresh lemon juice, hemp oil and flaxseed oil.

The scent of Goth Juice is totally different from any gel I have tried. It's supposed to be a combination of oakmoss absolute and olibanum scent. The combination of those two is not just unique, but really soothing and earthy (yes this is another "hippy" type scent!). I didn't think I'd like it as much as I do because of the initial scent (which when you smell it in a shop it can be distorted because of all the other fragrances) but, I have to admit, I really enjoy sniffing my hair when I use this! If you prefer fruity or floral scents then you might not like this one as it's not particularly sweet. This scent also has major staying power, my hair will hold it all day and night!

What I really love about this product though is the perfect amount of hold, shine and softness it gives my curls. I usually use about two fifty pence piece size amounts and worth through my damp hair, a little goes along way so don't over use it as the gel will simply clog your hair and you will end up with a horrible result. I now have shoulder length hair and this amount was perfect for me, obviously with longer hair you may need more, but start off with a small amount just incase.

Goth Juice as I said before gives a natural result and curls are free from frizz! Even in the humidity of the Caribbean this works! Fact! After I've applied it my hair feels so silky and the shine is wonderful and even better my wavy/ curly hair is defined all day long!

For style, shine and the scent of dark forests. Flax-seed and hemp allow bounce and control - but only if you want it. It's pretty good at out of control too!

Goth Juice is retailed at £6.80 per 100g and is readily available in store and online. I would recommend this to all people who have curly hair and want a bit more definition and a bit less frizz!
