Advantages: Really cleans and detoxs the hair
Disadvantages: Its a retro
I always like trying different shampoos, it's one of those things that I just like doing! I remember years ago standing in a supermarket just browsing all the different makes, types, bottles, colours etc! Now I just do the same but in a Lush shop! But standing in there too long I find gives me a headache, but beauty comes at a price as they say!
Ibiza Party shampoo was one that appealed to me some time back because it's supposed to get your hair looking super healthy and shiny. Sounds like a winner so I thought...I really don't know what Lush was thinking about with this one. First, they sold it as a shampoo for blondes (and yes I know I'm not a blonde!). Then to make matters worse, its positive attributes were boiled down to the non-essential; temporarily making your hair shiny & fragrant for a night of clubbing - what really is the point? Afterall your hair is just going to end up stinking of alcohol and cigarettes so why waste such a great product on the hair?!
Then to make matters even worse, they discontinued their blondes-go-clubbing shampoo! Oh yes, I carry a grudge for all of the above: I'm a card-carrying brunette who never goes clubbing and needs this shampoo to be able to continue my existence on Planet Earth! Fortunately our frantic pleas were answered by Lush and they brought it back as a retro product! Finally all none clubbing brunettes can use this shampoo (and obviously the clubbers and blondes alike will no doubt be happy!).
This shampoo does it all and yes I mean all! For oily hair, Ibiza Party manages to keep sebum levels under control while keeping the scalp well-toned. For dry and/or coarse hair, it smoothes out the shafts' cuticles and brings dying ends back to life before they altogether bid you "adieu." Limp hair is cheered up; bouffy hair is calmed down. What more could you possibly ask for?! Instead of Lush creating just a shampoo per hair type, it's made one for all, which is great as sometimes peoples hair types can change throughout the seasons.
Ibiza Party covers your head with a soft, silky shine (no matter your colouring) and the citrusy sweet tropical scent makes early morning wake-ups not seem quite so evil. Some Lush shampoos contain certain citrus oils that can actually strip colour, but fear not fellow shampooers this shampoo does not strip colour and you can look forward to having a lovely glossy mane which will make your friends and colleagues (male or female) green with envy!
Ibiza Party is quite a thick Lush shampoo so you might want to give the bottle more of a squeeze than you would normally. But remember as with most of Lush's products a little goes a long way so don't waste this wonderful stuff as it can really perform miracles! Ibiza lathers up really easily when applied to wet hair, the wonderful tropical scent will fill your bathroom and sink into your hair. If you have long hair you may want to apply the shampoo twice but for shorter hair, I would only use one application. Washing is off is wonderful, your left with uber silky hair but don't leave it as that, use quite a light conditioner to get a lovely softness and it will also make it a lot easier to blow dry.
What Lush say:-
Citrus and pimento berry make hair shiny and bouncy
As the name suggests, this shampoo was designed for clubbers. Ingredients like lemon, grapefruit and pimento berry keep your hair shiny, happy and awake until the early hours and boost your mind when you're exhausted. (How many shampoos help you stay awake at 3am when you're queuing for a burger?) Ibiza Party leaves hair bouncy, light and tangle-free, so it's perfect for enthusiastic clubbers who need more control on a big night out.
Ibiza Party is £10.77 for 500g, unfortunately you have to buy the 500g, you can't get any smaller bottles (unless you go on www.lush.com and go to the USA site). I think Ibiza Party is reasonably priced compared to other shampoos and don't be fooled by the description, non-clubbers are welcome to!!!
Summary: A great all round shampoo which is perfect for most people
