      Retro shampoo bar from Lush

I'm a fan of the shampoo bars from Lush and I'm gradually trying to sample them all. One of the shampoo bars I tried recently was Irresistible Bliss. This shampoo bar is described as being "a dynamic pink shampoo bar for normal hair" and, though my hair tends towards dryness, I decided to sample it anyway.

In case you're wondering what a shampoo bar is, they are basically the equivalent of soap but for the hair. You wet your hair in the shower, rub the bar over it to create a lather, and rinse out like normal shampoo. Alternatively you can rub the bar between your hands and rub the resulting lather over your hair.

Shampoo bars are better for the environment as they involve no packaging. You can buy reusable metal tins from Lush to keep them in, or alternatively keep them in a soap dish. Try to keep them dry though or they will go mushy! Shampoo bars commonly last longer than conventional shampoo, too.

This particular shampoo bar can be distinguished by its bright pink colour. It has a pleasant feminine floral scent made up of delicate neroli and sexy jasmine. I feel women would definitely prefer to use this shampoo bar, rather than men. It's worth noting that the main ingredient in this is sodium lauryl sulfate. This is what makes the product foam up and there are few products that don't contain this, however some people do prefer to avoid them. The shampoo bar is suitable for vegans.

Basically this shampoo bar cleans my hair. It doesn't actively moisturise it, nor does it claim to, but it keeps it in good condition. I always use a moisturising conditioner with it anyway. My hair feels properly cleansed after use and it seems strong and healthy. I can't smell the shampoo bar's scent on it after use, but this could be because I've applied conditioner over the top.

The bar lasts well too - around two months. This is longer than most regular shampoos and makes the price of £5.50 seem more reasonable than it first appears.

Overall this is a good shampoo bar. It doesn't claim to reduce dandruff like Soak and Float, detangle like Karma Komba, or add sparkle like Ultimate Shine. It just cleans your hair and smells nice while it's at it. A pleasant, simple shampoo bar from Lush.

leaves hair shiny happy and healthy

It's such a shame to see that so far i'm the one to start this product off with a review on here, not that i'm complaining about being the first to write a review on this product, but because I actually hope a lot of people have tried this shampoo bar out either that or i'm getting more and more worried about the lack of people buying products from Lush and going to more cheap shops and brands but don't even compare to Lush.

I can not recommend Lush enough to people so if you are new to reading my reviews and want to know people check out all my other Lush reviews. Lush specialize in hair, body and facial products mainly but do have a lot of other things such as moisturizers, shaving aids, perfumes, scrubs and have a lot more to offer. Lush uses the finest natural ingredients only to help our bodies, this also helps our planet and everything in it such as the animals, they refuse to test or buy ingredients from suppliers who test on animals. This makes all their products suitable for all vegetarians and a lot of vegans, on the website it does say on the product picture or description if it is vegan friendly or not so it saves you looking through the ingredients to find out if it's the right thing for you or not.

The 'Irresistible Bliss' shampoo bar, the title pretty much sold it to me straight away as I love trying new items and why wouldn't I want to try something with Irresistible in the title? Naturally I have to purchase from the website www.lush.co.uk because the local Lush store to me isn't quite so local at all, but I'm happy to buy from the internet if I know i'm getting a good deal and good money's worth, the postage and packaging from the website is £3.95 for a standard delivery which is pretty great but not if the product your purchasing costs less than this.

Now the 'Irresistible bliss' bar is £5.50 for 55g so I don't mind paying the postage because the product costs more, now 55g is not an awful lot at all considering the ballistics are 200g and the size of your fist so as you can imagine, this is just over a quarter the size of a ballistic bath bomb, they are around £3 so when first buying 'Irresistible bliss' or any other shampoo bar it doesn't make it seem worth while, the ballistics and many other products only have one use out of them, the shampoo bar last's me up to three weeks, I usually have to wash my hair everyday but with these babies I only have to wash my hair once every three days, of course if you are used to buying shampoos for around £1 this will seem really expensive and excessive, however once you've used one of these bad boys you wont want to go back to normal shampoo.

'Irresistible bliss' is a typical shape really, nothing exciting like you'd expect from Lush but let's be honest it would be rather hard rubbing something in the shape of a Donkey on your hair now wouldn't it. So it makes sense that this is a sensible round oval shape that fits nicely in the palm of your hand as that's how you use it. The shape of these always reminds me of those Macaroons, I don't even know what they are, some sort of biscuit but the shape is really similar.

The smell is really floral and the scent is rather strong when you smell the actual product but when washing your hair with this the smell isn't so pungent and is a really nice scent to have on you, the smell is really long lasting and can still smell it on my hair for the next two days until I have to re wash it again, it's really nice and if you wash with the same kind of products it means you don't have to put so much perfume on because you already have a beautiful scent on you throughout the day and night.

'Irresistible Bliss' is designed for 'normal' hair, of course any type of hair can use this but best works on normal, this causes non irritation which is good and doesn't provoke dandruff either. This leaves the hair kiss-ably soft and extremely shiny, I've never seen my hair with so much shine before, also this gives the hair 'body' so it's nice and poofy ready for styling so if you love big hair this is deffinately the product for you.

Ingredients: Sodium Lauryl Sulfate, Cocoamide DEA, Perfume, Neroli Oil (Citrus Aurantium amara), Jasmine Absolute (Jasminum grandiflorum), Gardenia Extract (Gardenia jasminoides), Linalool, Colour 18050 Vegan
