Advantages: smells great, softens and detangles hair, gives hair shine
Disadvantages: a bit difficult to use, not cheap!
Im a big Lush fan and whilst working my way through the entire Lush range, I have come accross jungle conditioner.
Unlike conventional conditioners, Jungle is solid, it looks like a lump of soap.
When I bought my piece of Jungle, I went into the Lush store and the assistant cut me a chunk from her huge slab of it, she wrapped and weighed it for me, my piece cost me about £4.50 and was just over 100g. A 100g piece will cost you £3.87 - not cheap but it does last very well.
To be honest I had a bit of a struggle the first time I tried to use this conditioner. I had washed my hair nd was standing in the shower, I picked up my piece of Jungle and began to rub it into my hair, I was dissapointed that nothing seemed to be happening, I had expected it to bubble or lather or something, I rubbed furiously untill my hands began to hurt, then I gave up. As i rinsed my hair, the water was milky, so the conditioner was obviously on my head, but I just couldnet feel it - my hair felt soft afterwards too, so it did something to my hair.
In my frustration I logged onto the Lush forum and asked others how it should be used. Most people said that you just stroke it over your hair and although you can not really notice it is there, it is doing its job. One poster told me that she usually grates some up and adds some warm water to it to melt it down a bit - that sounded like too much effort to me, but it did make sense.
The next time I was in the bathroom, I broke some small peices off from my bard of Jungle, and I put them into a little tub with some water. The next time I needed to condition my hair I went to the tub and found that the Jungle condioner was now soft and squishy, I rubbed it over my hands then into my hair, I then tipped the little bowl of water onto my head and rubbed it all in - now I could feel it on my head and knew that it was working.
That is how I use Jungle now and I really love it. Obviously by the time Im finished with it, it is no longer a solid conditioner, but it is still of high quality made from fresh natural ingridiants, and it still comes with no packaging, which I think is the main point of having a solid conditioner.
I really like the scent of Jungle, it is very fresh and is like nothing I have smelled before. Lush reccently made the scent into a limited edition perfume for the forum member to buy because the fourm members voted it as a favorite scent - Im lucky enough to have a bottle and it gorgeous.
Aftewr using the shampoo my hair in tangle free, smoothe and it smells fantastic for days afterwards. It does not make my scalp dry or itchy like some bottled conditioners do.
There is a real mixture of ingridiants in Jungle, Imnot going to list them all, but they include cocoa butter, banana, avocado, passion fruit and several oils - no wonder it makes your hair so soft and gorgeous!
having tried Jungle, I do not think I will ever go back to normal conditioner ( well not unless I am trying out other Lush conditioners ), I always make sure I have a good supply.
Summary: If you have never used solid conditioner I highly reccomend you give it a go!
