Advantages: squeaky clean hair
Disadvantages: mushy and hard to get out of tin
Again I saw this shampoo bar on the lush website, having read the description about it being good for stimulating hair growth
Unfortunately at 23 I do have slightly thinning hair, maybe its something to do with having dyed it a fair bit when I was younger, anyway i am slightly self conscious about this and though this may well be the answer to my hair woes, or at least something that might help
Like with all other lush products they don't test on animals and they try to keep to as many natural ingredients as possible,
Smells like?
The new hair bar contains cloves and cinnamon and is a definite winter warmer, imagine a typical Christmas punch with cloves being the predominant factor that's exactly what its like
So with the thought of lovely new hair in my mind I went ahead and gave it a go
So what's it like?
The bar is around and looks like a soap it is bright red and is solid, it is a bit odd to have shampoo in this form but its very easy to use you just wet your hair and rub the bar around, it lathers very quickly and you do get the cinnamon and clover smell very quickly upon the first lather
I worked it into my hair and left the suds in my hair for a little while, as i reclined in the bath I felt a tingling the suds were starting to fizzle, a tingly feeling all over my head-I took this as a good sign of it stimulating my scalp and my hair, the shampoo itself was easy to wash out and left my hair squeaky clean, I did have to use a separate conditioner with it too
After drying?
My hair felt super squeaky clean and felt very much like all the residue in my hair was gone it felt light and was super shiny, however my hair did seem a little fly away and didn't respond very well to me straightening it afterwards, my straighteners were not working as they normally would on my hair, perhaps it was because my hair was so clean of residue, an hour after having dried and straightened as usually there was still the lingering smell of cloves and cinnamon it wasn't overpowering though, and is really a smell that I quite like
Price and how long does it last?
The bar itself was £3.45 for 55g and so far it has lasted a fir while, however there is a slight downfall with it, the bar does stay wet for a while and I use it with the recommended shampoo tin that you pop the bar in straight afterwards, however the next time you come to use it the wet bar is tuck to the bottom of the tin
The way round this I found was to line the tin with cling film then when you pop the bar in and its still wet you can still get the bar out the next time you come to use it , its also very handy to take on holiday and perfect for travelling
So overall thoughts?
I do like this product a lot, I love the smell of it though it is fairly strong so those that aren't a fan of things that smell strongly I would be wary of this product
You do get fabulous foam with this product and it is easy to use the bar straight on your hair without it feeling awkward to use
The tingly ness of the bubbles on my hair when I used it was a very good thing I thought as I felt I could feel the whole thing working
The bar lasts for a fairly long time and I think it is worth the money that I paid for it
It did leave my hair feeling super clean and I also think its made my hair feel slightly fuller and more bouncy, I have chin length hair that is in a bob type style, the shampoo did leave my hair very shiny and my colleagues have commented on the sleekness of it
The only down point is the fact that the bar does go slightly mushy which means that when used with the tin you have to shake it like a madman to get it out
I would recommended this product to anyone that has slightly thinning hair or fine hair like me because I really do think that it does what it says
Summary: would recommended this product to anyone that has slightly thinning hair or fine hair like me
