I would not say that I suffer with a problem scalp, but what I do get in bad weather is a tight scalp. Sometimes this is down to having a poor diet, not drinking enough water or even central heating. Stress can also play a factor in the quality of your hair. There are many things to consider when looking after the hair and it can become a difficult process to keep it in check.
Lush offer something to help with scalp conditions, not just for tight scalps, but for itchy scalps and people suffering with worse complaints. Although only available online, the product would be worth looking into if you want to look after your hair and scalp. I view this as a deep nourishing head treatment. You apply the thick creamy stuff to the head, working right down to the scalp so that it is all nicely covered. Make sure you allow time to work through section by section. Once this has been done, you can leave it on for anything up to fifteen minutes or so.
There is a warming feeling as it works through the hair shafts, penetrating deep down and soaking into the skin. This feeling is probably the peppermint and almond oils which are moisturising the shaft and scalp. Rinsing with a warm water, it takes a while to get it all out, especially if your hair is longer, so allow enough time to wash properly. Your bath might need a rinse after too.
Results are good though. My experience with this left my hair soft and the crown of the head feeling less tight. You know if you rub it back and forth, well it felt looser and relaxed, which is a good thing. The snag is the price tag, which at twelve quid a tub is dear. However, I usually spend this on deep conditioning treatments from Loreal, so it is not totally out of reach. You should only need to use this once a week or every two weeks I reckon. For people with scalp issues or for anyone who wants to treat their hair to a special indulgence.
Summary: good product for scalp problems
