Another A+ LUSH product! (Lush Retread)

I bought 'Retread' after asking the LUSH straff which of their conditioners was the strongest / most effective. My hair was over processed, dry, coarse and in need of some serious TLC! As per usual, the best place to look for it was LUSH.

'Retread' claims to be a 'triple strength conditioner for added softness.' It uses seaweed, yogurt, cantaloupe melon and jojoba oil to moisturise the hair deep down. It supposedly smells of cantaloupe, orange and violet, though personally I find it has an almost unpleasant, though very bland 'old salad dressing' scent (though don't ask me what I mean by that!) The scent lingers forever after using it, though luckily by then it has faded into a much more acceptable smell. Other people seem to love the scent though and it is by no means unbearable or too offputting - especially once you see how good it makes your hair look / see.
For £8.25 per 245g, it's quite expensive compared to other conditioners I have tried, but it's also 10x better than them so don't let the price tag put you off. As with most of LUSH's products a little goes a long way too - I only have to repurchase 'Retread' every 2-3 months (my hair is thick and below halfway down my back) so it really is greay value in my opinion.
It comes packaged in your standard LUSH tub. Black, plain and 100% recycled. Nothing fancy, but it does it's job (whilst you do yours - helping the environment!)

After shampooing I apply a handful to the lengths of my hair before addinf only a tiny amount to the root / scalp area. I leave it on for as long as possible - the longer you can do so, the softer it leaves your hair. That said however, it still does a fantastic job if you can only afford 2 minutes :-)
'Retread' leaves my hair unbelievably soft and smooth, so much so infact that it requires much less straightening as it is already so smooth and shiny. I can even leave my hair to dry naturally after using this product (something that would normally result in a large, unmanageable mess!)
LUSH do not recommend that you use this if you have fine or limp hair and I can definately see why. If it leaves my extremely thick, coarse hair this fine and smooth, it could leave finer hair completely flat and stringy so bare this in mind and perhaps ask for a sample to try out first if you're unsure.

Unless I discover a better, more moisturising hair conditioner in the future (which is especially unlikely as I have no reason to look!) I will continue to purchase 'Retread' as soon as I run out. Definately recommended to anyone with hair in need of some serious moisture.
