Lush Shampoo Bar Tin
Disadvantages: pricey if not bought separately
This product has the sole use of being a container for the solid shampoo bars available from Lush.
Although the shampoo bars themselves are quire sturdy - this essential for keeping the bar in perfect condition in many ways.
Firstly, it stops it from leaking onto your bathroom surfaces (and thereby also not wasting the product.) It also makes the bar easy to transport - which perfectly complements it as the size of the shampoo means it is perfectly suited to travel use and/or when limited space is available. I would also image that it stops the bar from drying out or breaking as it gets more fragile and smalll with use.
The tin itself is small but large enough to comfortably fit in a shampoo bar with a little bit of leeway. It is a burnished silver colour with the Lush logo emblazoned on the top. It screws o, but having tracks on the side and a 'lip on the top half.
I find that it is relatively easy to unscrew even though I have short nails! It does get a bit slippier when it gets wet. it is not worth letting the bar itself get too wet as when you put it back in the tin it can stick to the bottom as it dries. However, if you do accidentally do theis, due to the smooth finish of the tin a few sharp whacks with the palm of your hand on the base of the tin should help it to drop out.
The tin itself costs £2.95 either online or via the Lush website. This in itself is quite pricey, however if you buy two solid shampoo bars, you get one of these free.
Please note that Lush do not do solid condition in the same shape as the shampoo bars - they are more like rectangular blocks. Therefore there isn't a similar container like this one that I am aware of for conditioners. However there is a solid shampoo and conditioner bar in the traditional form called 'Godiva' which could go some way to helping towards solving this.
I currently have one tin for my everyday use but am planning to get another one to put Godiva in as it is so much more convenient for travel and for going to the gym without having to worry about lugging around two bottles or decanting into smaller ones.
This is a fantastic product, it does everything it needs to, is compact and practical and attractive enought to fit into almost any bathroom scheme. Thus far, I have not had any problems with it deteriorating, so I think that it is a definite keeper.
Summary: Essential if you use Lush solid shampoo
