... only problem with the Squeaky Green was that it left a lot of 'bits' in the bottom of the bath and shower which my husband was not all the happy about. The shampoo bars are quick to use, I just rubbed them over my hair a couple of times, then worked the shampoo in. They don't foam up like regular shampoos, as they don't contain the same harsh foaming agents. After a couple of months use, my hair looked ok, a bit lifeless maybe. But the main problem was my skin. It was greasy and spotty, especially around my hairline. ...more

Crowned Review Lush Shampoo Bars: Rub the little fat guy really hard (1083 words)

I had an experience a few weeks ago which changed my life. It was almost a religious experience, one of great power which shook a belief system I have held since childhood and made me look at everything in a new light, and question even the basic tenets of my life so far. I used a solid shampoo bar and realised I could never go back to liquid. My mind is made up. I simply don’t believe in liquid shampoo any more. That part of my life is over. Liquid shampoo is fiddly, wasteful, takes too much plastic packaging and is therefore bad for the environment, contains too many artificial ingredients, needs a separate conditioner, costs too much and ...  Read the complete review

Before coming on Dooyoo I never realised how popular Lush was, we have a store where I live but I'd only ever been in there once with some friends. Suddenly I was seeing review after positive review on here on Lush products. Coincidentally I also saw one of their products in particular being brought up on the gapyear.com travel forums - the shampoo bars. I am going travelling next year and as somebody who has been backpacking before I know how much difference a little bit of weight and space can make and how heavy full shampoo bottles can be. (Not to mention the inevitable case of the bursting shampoo bottle and the expense of buying lots of shampoo bottles.) ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review Lush Shampoo Bars: Challenging The Way We Wash Our Locks! (1832 words)

Lush solid shampoo bars are a collection of products designed to be economical, environmentally friendly and easily transportable. As I have found them to have many attributes they certainly are worth looking at, but I do suggest you spend a bit of time thinking about what type of hair you have, and also to think a little about how to store them. When you first go into a Lush store it can be a little intimidating, especially as the staff can sometimes border on over helpful, which some may interpret as pushy. I think in all honesty this is because many of their products need an explanation, and not because they are totally set on selling. I would ask for a ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review Unexpectedly successful (630 words)

There are several Lush products that I automatically think aren't for me, and I think it's because I dislike the shower jelly so much (but really, really want to like it in principle!!). The shampoo bars fit into this category, mainly because I was really sceptical about non-liquid shampoos - surely if the alternative was good, tons of brands would have developed the idea? So the first time I used it was at a friend's house. I hadn't brought any shampoo and this was the only thing on offer - I think it was a white one but I can't remember the scent. My friend just told me to rub it on my hair like normal shampoo, then wash it off. Again I was dubious, mainly ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review Lush Shampoo Bars: A Shampoo To Calm Your Nerves?! (661 words)

Having fun with all my recent gifts from the Lush product range. The latest one I have been trying is the Ultimate Shine Solid Shampoo. This shampoo comes in the form of a flat round soap shape, lemon in colour and to be quite honest, the texture look s a bit like millions of sugar strands (like the ones you get on the top of cakes) all bound together. It also contains tiny little gold sparkles but I was really only aware of these when they caught the light, they just seem to wash away whilst washing your hair. It doesn't really have a very perfumed smell, I found it to be more of a medicated smell with a hint of lemon. When using this shampoo you can ...  Read the complete review
