Advantages: Lovely Smelly Shiny Locks

Disadvantages: Needs a container or it gets a bit squidgy!!

If you’ve read any of my recent opinions you’ll know I am slowly becoming addicted to the Lush store – I have a load of stuff crowding the bathroom, much to the distaste of my boyfriend. Although I don’t hear him complaining when I smell lovely, lol.

Today I am going to tell you about Lush Ultimate Shine Shampoo Bar.

I have to say I bought this mostly out of sheer curiosity as I just couldn’t believe it could work as well as regular shampoo.
There’s a lot of choice in the shampoo bar selection so if you decide to try one then I’m sure you’ll be able to find one to suit your needs.

I like to have shiny hair and I like to have healthy looking hair, this will give you both and it smells gorgeous to boot.

What you get for your money and what it looks like.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Well you will get a 55g circular bar of what looks like soap but is in fact shampoo. This will put you out of pocket by £2.75. It may seem steep but believe me this will last you age’s. Far longer than a bottle, in fact I would go as far as to say at least twice as long as any bottle of shampoo I’ve ever bought. So that £2.75 doesn’t sound nearly as expensive as it seemed initially, as a decent bottle of shampoo will cost at least £2.50 or more!! Its white and has golden sparkly bits in it which will end up in your hair (obviously, lol).
What’s in it
~~~~~~~~~~

Sodium Lauryl Sulfate – Ammonium Lauryl Sulfate – Perfume – Elemi Oil (Canarium commune) – Ylang Ylang Oil – (Cananga odorata) Voilet Leaf Oil (Voila odorata) – Gardenia Extract (Gardenia jasminoides) – Gold Sparkles (Polyethylene terephthalate).

Does it work.

Well I think this is fab. I use it every other day and my hair is shiny and healthy looking, I tend to wash my hair
when I’m in the shower and this is very easy to use – just rub it around your wet head until you get the desired amount of lather you like. I like a good lather and so I tend to rub it about a bit, lol. Then just massage in and rinse. Couldn’t be simpler really.

You can instantly smell the Ylang Ylang Oil – I think this is the most noticeable ingredient in the bar so if you don’t like Ylang Ylang then your not going to like this at all!!

It rinse’s out well and leaves a lovely smell of Ylang Ylang behind just to make you smell gorgeous – this will not be as noticeable if you use a conditioner afterwards but you can still smell it faintly.

I have to say I haven’t really noticed the golden sparkles in my hair. But my hair is shiny and healthy looking so maybe they just act as a light reflector or something and aren’t actually visable to the naked eye
This doesn’t dry your hair out at all and leave’s it feeling extremely clean and smelling lush (pardon the pun).

NICOLA’S TOP TIP

If you do decide to buy one of these bars then my advice would be:
Keep your shampoo bar in a container of some sort – I use a tin I bought from the Lush store which is intended for these shampoo bars and cost £1.95 but you can use anything really as long as there’s room to fit the bar in. I found that leaving it out in the open where there’s a lot of water started making my bar go a little squidgy, so it’s definitely worth thinking about putting it away after use.

Finally the packaging – well there’s nothing to tell really cos this doesn’t even come in the usual plain Lush packaging. You pick it off the shelf and hand it over to the assistant and they stick it in a little plastic bag and put a label on it. I suppose they would have to make more of an effort with it if you bought
it over the internet as it wouldn’t look so good arriving packed in that way.

Availability

Well if your not lucky enough to have a Lush Store near you then go to www.lush.co.uk and you’ll find a very good site to shop around which is updated regularly.

I will definitely be buying more of these shampoo bars in the future and highly recommend this particular on to all, men and women. I think this one is suitable for both men and women as it’s not to feminine a fragrance – just fresh and have I mentioned gorgeous.

Thanks for reading:)

Ooh, another convert to Lush. Aren't they great? I'll have to save up for another trip as I've just run out of this shampoo!

I might try this out one day. The conditioners I have tried from here didn't make my hair nice.
