Advantages: Works superbly, lasts a long time.

Disadvantages: Smells a bit.

I'm a big fan of Lush - entering one of their stores is subjecting yourself to an olfactory assault of the most pleasant kind. Everything smells so wonderful it's almost edible - well, almost everything. This is the exception - with its strong smell of coal tar, it's not a subtle, sweet or - let's be honest - particularly nice-smelling shampoo.

That's not to say it's not a great product, though. If you're a sufferer of a dry, itchy scalp, this could be just what you're looking for. It's soft and forgiving to your skin, cleans the hair wonderfully, ridding it of dandruff, and leaves your hair smelling fairly neutral - which given the stink that the shampoo kicks up, has to be a good thing.

Like all Lush shampoo bars, this lasts for ages; you only need to work up a small amount of lather each time you use this, and shampooing your hair every day, you'll get a couple of months at least out of each bar. Costing around £5, I make this pretty good value - and the natural ingredients used and happy effect it has on your hair contribute further to this.

Is there a negative? Not really, so long as you're okay amount the smell. Actually, it's not that bad - some people quite like the coal tar smell, and at least you know that it's doing you good. I've never found any that has such a consistent, positive effect on dry skin and dandruff, and I'll continue to buy it; I can't recommend it any more strongly than to say that it's a essential buy for me.

Summary: A great shampoo.
