When I went to Bath last weekend with my friends, I was really pleased to see a Lush store there, as we haven’t got one near us. You can smell the shop from a few metres away and I was expecting it to be a bit over-powering, but it is a wonderful place to be and smells divine. I had a good look round and discovered that I actually wanted to own every product there! However, I decided to be very good and decide which products I most wanted. I had tried the Bath Ballistics previously (Thanks, Kathryn!) so I fancied having a go with one of the solid shampoo bars. The choice is impressive, with the back section of the shop I was in filled with small ... Read the complete review

This bright purple solid shampoo bar has the most wonderful aroma that it begs you to buy it. I must admit that it was the colour and the smell that tempted me to buy this bar rather than the ingredients or performance of the shampoo. I had never used a solid shampoo bar before but overall I have been very pleased with this bar. The colour, of course, is totally irrelevant to a shampoo, but does seem very important when you are in the shop. Although the bar has the lovely smell of lemon and juniperberry this does not stay with your hair after washing it and I was a bit disappointed as I rather like the smell. The bar does very quickly make a ... Read the complete review

Solid shampoos, I would have loved to have been a fly on the wall during the board meeting when this idea was concieved. The concept is a good one, ditch the planet un-friendly plastic bottles and make shampoos solid instead, stack them up enticing organic piles of loveliness and wait for the Lush freaks and addicts out to come arunning. Hmmm well I came, I bought and I was not impressed. I have tried Trichomania (coconut based solid shampoo) and also a couple of the smaller shampoo bars and every time have been underwhelmed, the bars are marketed as solid alternatives to conventional shampoo that promise to leave you hair shiny, bouncy and as soft as a ... I discovered Lush products about a year ago and I have been hooked ever since. I am a natural blond and so I thought that I should try the chamomile lawn solid shampoo. I was a little wary as to what a solid shampoo would be like to use and how it would lather etc. I can now say having used it for a couple of months that it is great. Once you get over doing what I was always told off for as a child, ie rubbing soap onto my hair, it makes your hair feel good, and clean. As some one who as had problems with soap products causing adverse skin reactions I was a little wary but this was fime , not only does my hair feel good but my scalp does also. As with ... For those of you who don’t know Lush, it is a company that manufactures and sells organic or natural toiletries. You can smell a Lush shop from hundreds of yards away – in fact a friend of mine went to York and, knowing that there wasn’t a Lush shop there, nearly had the ab dabs when she smelt the newly opened store from a distance!! Anyway, I digress! The reason for this op is that this same friend bought me some Lush products for my birthday. Being a Lush virgin, she was desperate to convert me!! By far the best product that she bought was the ‘Irresistible Bliss’ shampoo bar. I was most intrigued! A solid shampoo? ... Read the complete review
