Advantages: smells good, cheap, easy to use

Disadvantages: none so far!

For those of you who don’t know Lush, it is a company that manufactures and sells organic or natural toiletries. You can smell a Lush shop from hundreds of yards away – in fact a friend of mine went to York and, knowing that there wasn’t a Lush shop there, nearly had the ab dabs when she smelt the newly opened store from a distance!!

Anyway, I digress! The reason for this op is that this same friend bought me some Lush products for my birthday. Being a Lush virgin, she was desperate to convert me!! By far the best product that she bought was the ‘Irresistible Bliss’ shampoo bar. I was most intrigued! A solid shampoo?

This small, round bar that smells of jasmine and gardenia is an absolute joy to use. It is so easy – all you do is rub it over your head three times and you get the most incredible lather. Your hair is literally squeaky clean when you use the Lush solid shampoo bars. At £2.75 for a 55g bar, it is an incredibly cheap shampoo as well – it should give you about 80 hairwashes.

I am now, to my friend’s delight, completely and utterly converted. I fully intend to take advantage of the Lush website (www.lush.co.uk) to order many more bath bombs, shampoo bars and Tisty Tosties (heart-shaped bath ‘fizzer’ that contains 7 real rosebuds!). If you want to feel completely pampered, treat yourself to a Lush bath!!

UPDATE: I have finally paid a visit to a real life Lush shop! The range of stuff was incredible! I could have spent many hours wandering round and copious amounts of money on all of the things that intrigued me!!

The staff were very helpful, showing the sort of bubbles that certain products made by crumbling some into a wooden bucket and beating it madly with a spatula!!! One bloke went into great detail about how to get the best effects from the Caca Rouge (No S**t hair dye!)and even gave me a free sample of Sea Vegetable soap when I ma
de my purchases!

If you go, make sure that you pick up a copy of the Lush Times - this tells you all about new products and gives details of just about everything that they sell!
