Advantages: no packaging, great smell
Disadvantages: should be a bar
I am a great fan of Lush products and have been buying them for years. I like their green policies and that they don't test on animals in any way.
This solid shampoo bar fits right in with their green policies - Lush make solid shampoos as they do not need any form of packaging - no plastic bottles filling up landfills!
This is the first time I'd tried a solid shampoo that isn't one of the Lush bars, this is more a free form block of shampoo! I find that it is much easier to use if you divide the chunk up into smaller more manageable sizes.
The first thing that attracted me to this shampoo was it was described as being for dry hair. I straighten my hair once a day and it is also chemically dyed so it's pretty dry! The cold weather also plays havoc with it! As I bought this from Lush's website, I never had the chance to smell the product before I purchased it. But having smelt other Lush products containing similair ingrediants (the main being coconut) I knew I wouldn't be disappointed.
The shampoo works the same way as any of Lush's other solid shampoos - simply grab a chunk and rub it through your hair a few times and it lathers up like any other shampoo. I have shoulder length hair and find I only need to rub a small chunk through about 3 or 4 times to work up enough of a lather.
After rinshing my hair smelt lovely and sweet like coconuts. It felt squeky clean which worried me slightly as this normally means my hair is going to be dry and fluffy after blow drying, but it stayed nice and smooth and felt soft to the touch, even without straightening. I did use conditioner after wards, but then I always have to anyway.
Summary: great smelling solid shampoo
