I got some Lynx attract shampoo at Christmas time in a Lynx set that I got from my aunty. I am not the biggest fan of Lynx, their products smell nice enough and I do quite like their shower gels but the deodorants just remind me so much of being a teenager and not in a good way. I remember spraying myself with half a can of Lynx before I would even leave the house that I think I made myself sick of it and I still smell teenagers today who have OD'd on the deodorant that it is just a bit overpowering and sickly.
I always end up with one or two lynx gift sets at Christmas however and I do actually enjoy using them.
The shampoo can be bought separately and costs about £3.50 but like most Lynx products there is usually an offer on somewhere. There is also an attract shower gel and a deodorant to go with the shampoo.
I think the smell of the attract is actually one of the better Lynx smells as I personally don't find it to be so generic and overpowering. It is still musky and strong smelling but it is just a little bit lighter and fresher than most of the rest of the fragrances and also just a little bit more sophisticated smelling.
The shampoo is 300ml so is a fairly decent size and being designed for men's hair most of us don't really have that much so you only need a little bit so the bottle should last for ages.
A little bit of the shampoo is enough to get a really good lather going. The shampoo does a fairly good job of removing wax and other products from hair.
After drying hair is left lightly scented from the fragrance. It isn't too much but if you are also going to be wearing the deodorant then it is nice to have be wearing something else that is the same fragrance.
For some reason I had assumed that this shampoo would be really harsh and leave my hair completely stripped of any and all moisture but it was actually quite gentle whilst still being strong enough to remove wax. It also didn't leave my hair really frizzy like a lot of shampoos can do to it.
I am not sure that I would ever pay £3.50 for this when I can buy nice shampoos for £1 at the poundshop but when it is on offer for half price like it is a lot of the time then I might be tempted to buy it again and I might even be tempted to buy the matching shower gel and deodorant too.
I had used Lynx hair products before when they came out a few years ago and having not liked the results as much as the usual Lynx products I decided to give them another go when a new range came out recently as I have owned many Lynx Deodorants and Shower Gels over the years. The Lynx Shampoo range has a number of different styles and this one is from the Attract range which also includes the Deodorant and Shower gel which I like both of. I have liked the results from the Lynx Shower Gel on hair so was thinking this new range might take the good results even further. The shampoo ranges are slightly more expensive than the shower gels at around £3.00 a bottle but there are regular deals that you can take advantage of in Supermarkets and Stores like Boots and Superdrug.
The shampoo is a nice shade of light Orange and has a fairly thick consistency. You get the Lynx Attract scent which is nice and refreshing and once you have applied the shampoo to your hair you will feel a nice smoothness as it moves through your hair easily. Like with the Lynx Shower Gels you don't need a lot of the Shampoo to get good results so this will make the shampoo last longer and as it's a 300ml bottle it should last a while anyway. The Shampoos scent is a lovely woody and fresh scent which once you have dried your hair it will leave a pleasant fragrance which should linger and last throughout the day.
This is an excellent product from Lynx and shows that they researched into Hair care before giving it another go after a comparatively poor product standard compared to their usual quality deodorants and shower gels. The shampoo is suitable for all hair types and will leave your hair feeling fresh and smelling nice throughout the day. If used regularly then you will start to see a difference between washing your hair with the shower gel and washing with this shampoo. So if you like the Lynx Shower gels then give this a go and see what you think. It is an acceptable shower gel too if you have run out of that.
I am a Lynx man - I find the range masculine and I like to wear their body sprays and deodorants. They have recently brought out a range of hair care products and I am currently using one of them called Lynx Attract Shampoo. It's great stuff! I have bought two bottles of this for a fiver, which is excellent value for money as they normally retail at around £3.50 each, which I personally think is far too much money.
I like the colour and consistency of this Lynx Attract Shampoo. It is a nice pleasant shade of orange - not unlike my own natural hair colouring. I also like the fact that it is quite thick in consistency and not liable to run off the palm of my hand whilst I am lathering myself up in the shower.
It smells great too. It has a fresh aroma and it's not at all girly or feminine, which I really like. My other half refuses to use this shampoo as she says it's just 'not for women'. I like the way it makes all of my body hair feel after I have washed myself. As regular readers of my reviews will be aware, I tend to use hair shampoos basically all over my body and beard as I am a fairly hairy person and I use them much like a person would use a shower gel, I suppose.
The smell of this shampoo is also great as it lingers on my hair and body for ages after I have stepped out of the shower and dried myself off. It makes my hair feel manageable and shiny and my beard look more in control.
I am sure it does indeed 'attract' too. Since I have been using this range, there is a certain lady in the office down the corridor who makes an attempt to use the photocopier every time I do and I am sure she is standing closer to me than she was before! There is a certain glint in her eye, I am sure, so it does indeed 'attract' I think.
Overall, I am very pleased indeed with this fantastic shampoo from Lynx - even the bottle looks 'manly'.
Love it - great stuff and highly recommended.
Lynx recently released a range of hair styling products and shampoos to increase their product range but following on from all of its success with deodorants, anti-perspirants and shower gels how does the new Attract shampoo stack up against it previous offerings?
- Clever yet simple packaging means that the bottle of shampoo can easily stand on its own and be handled easily even when in the shower. A quick open lid which you simply click a button on the front to flip up the lid and simply push it down and hear the click that confirms the bottle is closed which is important as you then know it isn't going to leak even if knocked over.
- Lynx Attract offers a fresh fragrance which leaves your hair smelling great even after you are done washing.
- Lynx Attract shampoo is just a part of a range of new products from Lynx including hair styling gel, shower gel, body spray for men, body spray for women and anti-perspirant deodorant too so that you know Lynx has done a lot of work on this range.
- For me one of the best things about this shampoo is that the consistency of it is perfect to enable you to wash your hair with ease and not loose loads of the shampoo due to it being too watery. Orange colour shampoo which lathers up nicely enables you to have a brillaint hair wash with ease.
- Shampoo is about washing your hair first and foremost and for me this is a good quality shampoo that leaves your hair feeling and looking clean and soft.
- Somewhat pricey for a new shampoo released by a company who are not known for their hair care as a bottle of this normally costs about £3.50 but if you shop around you can pick up some special offers like a bottle for £2 or 2 bottles for £5 so stock up and save yourself some money.
Overall a very good quality shampoo that leaves hair feeling clean and soft whilst leaving a great scent too. Simple yet clever packaging is something I really like as it stops spills and so makes a bottle last longer and so save some money. Well worth having on your shelf and stocking when you see some offers.
