I was looking for a new shampoo last week and I picked up a bottle of this in my local Poundland store which I thought made the shampoo an absolute bargain. The bottle is 300ml and at much less than the usual price you'd be likely to pay in supermarkets etc it can be seen as a fantastic deal. I thought it stood out from the other shampoo products on the shelf and as anyone who has picked up some bargains in Poundland before would know, There are some great deals and some products that are £1 for a reason and are not the kind of quality you would be looking for regardless of the item.
A few years ago when Lynx first released a hair care range I wasn't impressed with their hair gel yet they went away and worked hard on improving their hair care products and they've really made it work. The shampoo is amongst the best I have used and I have now used a few of the shampoos in the Lynx range and although not as popular as their longstanding Shower gels they have carved out a strong and growing reputation for their shampoos. The shampoo lathers up rather well even when using only a little and has a good consistency which means that your bottle will last longer than lesser products which need a larger lather to work at it's best.
The shampoo leaves your hair feeling fresh and smooth and works well against dandruff too. It leaves your hair feeling healthy and the scent lingers nicely out of the shower or bath. It's scent has a light coconut tone which is subtle yet works well. The shampoo is also satisfactory as a shower gel if you have run out as I used it for this purpose when I hadn't much left of a Lynx shower gel left. I would recommend this particular shampoo to those who like a nice subtle shampoo which gives good results and is available at a very decent price. Check in your local Poundland and if they don't have this particular one in stock then give the others in the range a go.
As the years have gone on I've become less concerned about over styling my hair, long gone are the days where I would stand in front of my bathroom mirror making sure every strand of hair on my head was in the right place whilst adding a noxious concoction of sprays, gel and mousse to achieve a certain 'look'. These days I'm quite happy to just add a bit of gel after I've washed my hair in the shower and I keep a short, maintained hair cut.
I like my hair to look and feel clean but rarely pay that much attention to what shampoo I buy, they're all pretty much the same in my opinion and so long as they clean my hair I'm happy to buy whatever takes my eye. Lynx Deep Clean shampoo was on offer in Superdrug recently on promotional offer and needing some shampoo I picked up a bottle, I like the Lynx brand usually, they seem to have a prominent place in the male-grooming marketplace and I've used a number of their products in the past so was happy to pay the couple of quid this shampoo cost.
There were a number of options available in Lynx's shampoo range but I went for the 'Detox', deep clean one as I do wear a bit of Gel in my hair as mentioned and thought it would be a good product to thoroughly wash my hair with. It comes packaged in a cylindrical bottle as shown in the accompanying picture, the green-coloured detailing makes it quite eye-catching and I do think it looks quite upto date and modern in design. Lynx describe this shampoo as being something to "Wash away what's blocking your game. Purify your hair and remove grease, oil and the product build-up that's blocking your game. For touchably clean hair." and I began using mine the next time I took a shower.
The shampoo has a gel-like consistency to it, it's green in colour and has a pleasant 'clean' smell, it's not overly-fragranced which I was pleased about and doesn't have a 'medicated' aroma you might expect from something that is supposed to 'deep clean'. On wet hair it lathers up well but doesn't create too many bubbles that it becomes difficult to wash out and in use its smell remains pleasant. I do find it good at removing a couple of days worth of hair gel and it does leave my hair feeling clean and soft. I don't wash my hair every day as I read something years ago about over-cleaning hair can strip it of its natural, healthy oils so limit my use of this shampoo to around 3 times a week and given the fact it is described as being a deep-clean shampoo I personally wouldn't use it every day.
Because I don't over-style my hair I can't really comment on how good this shampoo is on hair that has a lot of product in it and I suspect results will vary from person to person anyway depending on how long their hair is and its thickness etc. For me being someone who wears a little bit of Gel in his hair I find it to be an effective shampoo and gives me the results I would expect from any shampoo that I buy. I think this product fits in well with the Lynx range as a whole and I would continue to buy it in the future.
Overall I don't think it's anything exciting, it doesn't revolutionise hair-washing and I don't think it's anything terribly new but it cleans well, leaves my hair looking and smelling fresh and clean and lives up to my expectations so I can't ask for anything more than that. At full price you can expect to pay around £3.49 which is about average for a decent quality shampoo but it is frequently on offer and is well worth taking a try on if you can get it at a reduced price.
4 stars as a rating, thanks for reading my review.
This is another one of my favourite 'bloke' shampoos in the great Lynx range. This is their Detox Deep Clean shampoo. I wasn't sure about this before I used it, I wasn't so keen on the sickly green bottle, but I have to say I am impressed again with this really sound shampoo.
The bottle contains 300ml of shampoo and it's sturdy enough not to fall over in the shower. I paid £3.70 for this bottle, which I thought was quite a lot of money to pay, but I do have to say it's well worth it.
The shampoo itself is a dark green in colour and it tips out of the bottle easily. It lathers as well as the other shampoos in this range and it rinses off well. I do like this shampoo because I really feel like it is giving my scalp, as well as my hair, an overall really deep clean with a detox combined.
The smell is fresh and natural and not at all 'girly' or feminine, thank God. No way would my dear other half be seen using this, it's far too masculine for her.
As with all shampoos, I tend to use this as a kind of shower gel, and I use it all over my face and body as well as on my head.
The smell lasts for ages after I have stepped out of the shower and dried myself. Though this shampoo does not contain and conditioner in it, I don't really find that it dries my hair out. In fact, I will often forgo the conditioner when I use this particular shampoo, as I find it just doesn't need it.
My hair is fresh and clean and not fly-away and I have received many compliments from work colleagues (including several from that attractive young lady who frequents the photocopier outside of my office door).
Overall, I'm really impressed with this great shampoo and I thoroughly recommend it.
I have recently written a review on another lynx shampoo, this was the 2in1 dual shampoo. I found it rather good and I decided to try out another one of there shampoos seeing as they are currently on offer at tesco. I bought this for £1.74 which I thought was a reasonable price, they usually cost £3.50 which I think is too much for a brand new product from a company that is not well known for there shampoo products. I will now go into a little more detail on lynx detox!
The bottle comes in a green colour that contains 300 ml of shampoo. The bottle is quite tall and has a simple lid which you open by pressing a button, it's easy to use in the shower and I really like the design. The bottle also looks very nice and is similar to the dual 2in1 shampoo I have also tried. Overall the style is brilliant and is manly unlike other shampoo,s on the market.
What's in the bottle:
The shampoo is a green colour and reminds me of the body washes they sell, fortunately it is very good. The bottle advertises it to be an alround cleaner to detox your head. The shampoo lavers up very nice on contact with your head and is easy to work through, you can feel it very quickly cleaning your hair and it works a treat! I tend to wash rinse and repeat because it makes my hair softer. The downside to this product compared to the 2in1 shampoo is that this one doesn't have conditioner in it, this means it doesn't clean your hair as well. It does however have a very fresh smell and can also be used to clean your body. It's a decent shampoo for men. I feel it could be improved in the future, it is new and I can see them bringing out new formulas in the future.
Lynx have recently expanded there men's toiletries empire and dominate the isles in the supermarket. I didn't expect there shampoo to be any good because there a well known deodorant brand, but I was surprised at how great this stuff was, I'm really impressed and will be using in the future (only at discounted prices, not full price as they are trying to charge too much)
Lynx detox shampoo is a great shampoo, it left my hair feeling soft and clean. It smelt great and the bottle lasted for a very long time. The bottle design is good and is very different to other competition on the market. The price is high, but currently offers are on due to it being a new product. Hopefully prices will come down in the future, high price may put me off in the future! I enjoyed using it though :)
I will be trying there other shampoos in the near future because they are on offer, they have a wide range and are worth trying out at the great price at this moment in time :)
I give this 4/5 because I have tried a better lynx shampoo
Thanks for reading :)
With a more hectic pace in modern life people are always rushing around and with the use of so many hair products do we really wash them out fully and enable our hair to remain healthy or just wash off the top layer or a build up? Lynx Deep Clean shampoo is all about detoxing your hair and removing all of that build up from those products and pollution of modern life but does it deliver a real deep clean?
- Most shampoo that you purchase is designed to offer something special like anti-dandruff, colour lock in, greasy hair, etc and this is designed to offer an intense clean which removed the build up of styling products and pollution. From my experience of this shampoo I have found that it does leave hair feeling like it is deep down clean and fresh which is all I can judge on (I don't have microscopes and testing facilities).
- Fresh smelling shampoo which I find to have an uplifting scent that is brilliant for that nice warm shower in the morning as it the shampoo does its work and removed the products from the night before.
- A great shampoo that lathers up brilliantly even when using only a little this has a great consistency to ensure you needn't use too much. The fact it is not too watery is something I am a fan of as I hate shampoos that feel like they are water with some colouring as it just runs through your fingers and goes to waste.
- A clever design means that the bottle lid opens easily with the push of a button on the from part of the lid and it flips fully open so you can squeeze out your shampoo. Once done then just push the lid closed and hear the click that confirms it is fully closed and you needn't worry about a leak. I love this as everyone has once in their life knocked over the bottle of shampoo and seen it drain away before you can get to it and find half the bottle is gone so with this lid I feel confident even if I knock it over I am safe.
- Bottle stands up without any problems (a small but important thing).
- With most other Lynx shampoo I would consider £3.50 a bottle to be expensive but compared to other detox shampoo out there this is good value. Shop around and you can pick this up on deals making it even better value.
Overall for me this is a very good quality shampoo that offers a deep clean which removes build up through styling product build up and pollution. I find the scent to be uplifting and fresh and the shampoo lathering up so well enables you wash your hair with ease and get great results. Simple yet excellent things like bottle and lid design all add together to make this a great value product that I would happily pick up from now on.
