I don't usually buy Lynx products mainly due to the price tag as all their products tend to be expensive however while i was searching for my ordinary 2 in 1 shampoo at Boots i came across this. I knew that Lynx sold deodorants but was very surprised to find them selling hair products. I was attracted by this product and because it was half the rrp costing £1.50 i decided to buy it and test it out.
The bottle comes in 300 ml size and the bottle is very striking thus like many other Lynx products. The black bottom and gold at the top certainly does attract the eye. The word Lynx is written in the middle of the bottle in a shiny silver colour.
When i use the shampoo my hair smells of orange and citrus which is very pleasant. The smell is refreshing and lasts a long time.
I usually buy this product when it's on special offer e.g. half price or buy 1 get 1 free as buying one bottle is expensive. The rrp per bottle is £3.50.
I have used the Lynx 2 in 1 for three months now and i am very happy with it. I am now on my third bottle each bottle lasting around a month. My hair feels softer than usual and the smell of orange smells lovely. Compared to my previous shampoo / conditioner which was a Boots own brand my hair feels much cleaner i think this is due to the wonder effects of the conditioner. I know use Lynx 2 in 1 all the time and i have achieved great results. My hair is also easier to style and maintain. Lynx have done a great job with their first editions of hair products. I would recommend this to any man.
I like most of the Lynx range of products, especially the shower gels, and when I saw that they had brought out a range of shampoos I thought I would try them.
I only have short hair, but I do like to keep it conditioned, and so the Lynx dual shampoo with conditioner immediately grabbed my attention. What also made me notice it was the fact that it was half price at Wilkinsons (I do like that store).
I've found that there are not many shampoos specifically manufactured for men. To be honest, I do like something with a bit of a fragrance, but all too often my hair ends up smelling like a flower bed or some herbal concoction, or worse still a chemical factory. Knowing the range of fragrances that Lynx are famous for, I thought maybe their shampoo would be different.
The container itself has a masculine appearance and reminds me a little of a tall R2-D2 out of the Star Wars movies. It's about 7 inches (18.5cm) tall and 2.5 inches (6 cm) in diameter with protrusions either side that look like arms, and contains 300ml of shampoo. The colouring of the main container is a nice copper brown at the top and this merges into black half way down. The white and silver Lynx brand name on the front label is very noticeable which, of course, is exactly what the manufacturers intend. Beneath this it clearly says that the product is 2 in 1 Shampoo and Conditioner.
The reverse of the container claims that it will 'speed up your clean and help your game' and that the product gives you 'touchably clean hair'. As if to emphasize this point it shows the silhouettes of a couple with the woman touching the man's hair - as yet I have not exactly been inundated with ladies wanting to stroke my hair, but I would point out that in all likelihood this is not the fault of the shampoo . In small font, it lists the ingredients, most of which sound terrifying and which have far too many syllables for mere mortals to comprehend. The only word that I recognized was 'parfum' which I can cope with .
It does have the usual warning about washing your eyes out with warm water if you get the shampoo in your eyes, but what I do like is that Lynx do not insist that you 'wash your hair, rinse thoroughly then wash again' which most other shampoos demand (to my mind that just means that you use the shampoo quicker so that they can sell you more). Indeed, Unilever, who manufacture the Lynx range, don't give you any instructions at all as to how to wash your hair which is a refreshing change.
The top of the container consists of a black lid which springs open when you press the button at the front (I find this is ingenious and makes it much easier to open in the shower).
The shampoo itself is deposited into the palm of your hand (or onto your head, depending on how you like to apply it) by squeezing the container. I like a good lather when I'm washing my hair and I found that you don't need to squeeze much out to get a good foam. The shampoo is an orange/brown colour and is quite thick. It is difficult to describe the fragrance. It is quite light, a bit spicy and fruity, and I personally don't think it has a chemical odour. It is a pleasant, masculine perfume and it does make your hair smell nice for a while after drying. The main thing is that my hair feels clean after washing and the conditioner makes it quite smooth and soft. I have slightly greasy hair and wash it every day but there have been no side effects whatsoever with repeated washing (I have been using the product for about 3 months - not the same container, I might add).
At £3.49 it is quite expensive compared to other shampoo brands, but you can often find this on offer in supermarkets (you can currently buy 4 for £10 at Asda) - I tend to stock up when I find it on offer, and one container does last quite a long time .
To summarise, I like this shampoo a lot. It cleans and conditions my hair without me having to buy two separate products and has a pleasant masculine odour which fits in with the rest of the Lynx range of products. I would highly recommend this shampoo.
I have always used lynx products and I was really excited when I heard that lynx was bringing out a shampoo! Lynx I feel is the leading brand for men's toilletaries and they really seem to be expanding there products at the moment. Which I feel is a real bonus if your a guy.
As with all the lynx products, the snag is the price tag! It's rather expensive, I got mine for £2.50 but I know the rrp is more than that. The good thing is I believe that it is worth that!
The shampoo works great with my hair. It always feels soft after use and smells great. It uses a citrus smell. It' really does smell like orange and you can smell it on your hair a long time after use, it really makes using it a treat. The shampoo also conditions leaving you with lovely hair!
I also use this on my body too which gives out the usual lynx smell, it's terrific and it's an all round great product. I didn't think that there first shampoo would be any good. But I was so wrong because they do seem to have mastered it first time!
The bottle is 300ml which lasts quite a while, I got nearly 3 weeks use out of the bottle and in that time I was really happy with my hair, it was also a bit more shiny and when I used products in it I could style it better than usual :)
Also as with all lynx products, the packaging looks stylish, it comes in a rather large and tall bottle which looks differernt to there other products. The bottle goes from black at the bottom to orange at the top and looks really Great.
I would recommend this to any guy who likes to smell fresh and who has previously enjoyed using this particular brand. I know the price is higher than others on the market. But I really do feel that it is worth a go!
Thanks for reading my review on lynx 2 in 1 shampoo. Hope it helped :)
My rating is ............. 5/5
A few years ago Lynx brought out a range of haircare products, I was less than impressed by that range and was quite surprised by the quality as I am a regular user of Lynx deodorants and shower gels which I believe to be of much better quality than the old shampoo and hair gels which Lynx released. A few years on however they released a new series of hair products and this time it seems to have worked a trick. I was looking for some shampoo recently and came across this new Lynx so I thought I'd give it another go as I like pretty much all of other products from Lynx. So is it better second time round or should they just concentrate on their normal deodorants and shower gels.
The shampoo comes in a 300ml bottle and is a thick orange colour and you instantly get the orange scent which when mixed with water smells fresh and it mixes into the hair well. This also features conditioner and the shampoo works well to combine the two. Once the water has rinsed out of your hair and you have towel dried the hair it will feel very nice to the touch and smooth, The hair will also feel clean. This result proves to be far better than the previous attempt at shampoo that Lynx made a few years ago. The shampoo also leaves your hair smelling nice with a subtle fruityness with a touch of a woody scent. The Lynx Hair Care range also features several other different shampoo varieties.
This being a Lynx product it is also a decent shower gel and I have used it on my body whilst in the bath and it has also given a very fresh, clean feel. The scent also lasts for a decent period of time and combines well with a Lynx deodorant fragrance. So no need to take two different bottles on a trip if you don't want to. This is another plus point for the shampoo and is another example of how this shampoo is a far better effort than the first Lynx shampoo was. They could be onto a winner here if they continue to expand the range in the future.
This shampoo is an excellent new product from Lynx that will give your hair a fresh, clean feel whilst also leaving your body feeling the same too. If you like this then why not give the other varieties in the range a go. The 300ml bottle will last a little longer than the Shower Gels that Lynx have and can be used as one too. I think this could be another fine Lynx Product that gets expanded on in the future. Not just deodorants and shower gels but now also hair products, I will no doubt try the Lynx Hair Gel next to see if that is a vast improvement on it's older incarnation which wasn't too good.
I have for a number of years used Lynx products but never been someone out to go and buy them as I have received shower gels, deodorants and things for Christmas but I know I am not the only person out there who is in the same situation when it comes to this so why would I recommend people to try their shampoo?
- A simple lid with a press button on the front...why mention this? The lid makes it easy to open the shampoo even when your hands are wet and easy to do with one hand, when you are done then simply push the lid down and it clicks shut meaning you know it is closed and that you are not going to have the water from your shower going in when it re-opens or the shampoo leaking if you accidently knock over the bottle.
- This is a shampoo and conditioner all in one which leaves you with clean, fresh and soft feeling hair so if you have a big day ahead then this gives you that perfect way to start your morning.
- You only need to use a little each time you wash and so you get much less waste than you do with other shampoo brands out there making for value for money as a bottle will last longer.
- After washing you are left with not just clean and soft hair but also a fresh scent which is something that I like as something so simple and little as this can actually give a huge confidence boost and so things like this can help for those who are going to their first interview.
- Rather expensive when compared to other shampoo and conditioner products out there as a bottle costs around £3.50 which is for a company with no pedigree in hair care products. Shop around and look for deals and you can get this cheaper.
Overall I have been impressed with this Lynx offering but having tried their other shampoo offerings I would not recommend this to be their best one. I think that the added conditioner does little to improve the feel of your hair and would have to say that if you are going for the cleaning only side then their other shampoo varieties in the range are better. This does offer up good quality hair washing and does leave your hair feeling clean and fresh but I am not too bothered about how soft my hair feels and more worried about keeping it on my head as I get older. Maybe one for the younger buyer who wants their hair to be thick and soft.
